Harbor Freight Coming to Springfield
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Is Springfield getting a Harbor Freight? It’s looking that way, according to Interim Community Development Director and City Engineer for the City Of Springfield David Brewer.

On January 10th Smokey Barn News announced that the Save-A-Lot at that location in Springfield would be closing it’s doors forever, their final day of operation Tuesday of this week. (FULL STORY)
The plans for Harbor Freight have been in the works long enough for building and project plans to be approved by the city of Springfield and Harbor Freight has been told that a building permit has been issued.

Margot Fosnes with the Robertson County Chamber of Commerce released the following statement regarding Harbor Freight’s decision to come to Robertson County.
“Thanks to a collaborative partnership of the City of Springfield, Robertson County Economic Development, the investors of 
Realizing Robertson’s Future and local Developer Jim Moore of G.S. Moore and Son, Springfield will soon have a new retail offering taking the place of Save-A-Lot in the Mooreland Shopping Center.
“For the past three years, the City of Springfield has been under contract with Retail Strategies, a national consulting firm out of Birmingham, Alabama which partners with cities and counties to grow retail development. The work has been jointly funded by the Robertson County Economic Development Board, the investors of the Realizing Robertson’s Future campaign and the City of Springfield.
“Retail Strategies connects landowners, developers and economic development agencies with national retailers and restaurants looking to expand their market. They also actively promote the cities and communities they represent at retail conferences like the International Council of Shopping Centers events in Nashville, Atlanta and Las Vegas.
“Retail Strategies worked closely with Jim Moore on this particular location since Harbor Freight first expressed interest in the Springfield market. Harbor Freight is a leading discount tool retailer and typically generates around $3 million in annual sales and hires approximately 15 employees per location.
“This is the second new retailer that the Retail Strategies partnership has introduced to Springfield, the first being Farmers Home Furniture which took over the space formerly home to Goody’s in January of 2017.”
