Edward Andrews Of Greenbrier Dies In Fatal Highway 76 Crash Near White House

WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Highway 76 was closed for several hours Tuesday afternoon following a fatal rollover crash just outside of White House.

The crash occurred around noon on Highway 76 between New Hall Rd. and Union Road, not far from I 65. MAP

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, one person, now identified as Edward Andrews, 88, of Greenbrier, died in the crash.  Officials with the Robertson County EMS tell Smokey Barn News that the driver of the second vehicle, Nathan Trower, 25, of Talbott TN, was initially transported in critical condition has been upgraded to stable condition.

The accident involved two vehicles, a 2012 Ford F150 pickup truck driven by Trower and a 2008 Ford Fusion driven by Andrews. The accident was partially in the roadway. The pickup truck showed heavy damage to the front and the passenger vehicle landed on its roof.

As far as a cause of the crash, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Andrews, traveling West on Hwy 76, and unable to stop, swerved into Eastbound traffic to avoid stopped traffic ahead. The two vehicles hit head-on.

According to the THP, Andrews was not wearing his safety belt.

Services for Edward Vance Andrews, Sr.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 – 3 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, followed by a Life Celebration Service at 3 PM also at the funeral home. Interment will be held Monday at 2 PM at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Hendersonville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the GoFundMe account of a great-niece (Erica Tackett) who is recovering in Vanderbilt Hospital from another unrelated recent head-on collision. MORE
