Obituary for James W. Holland
James Winfred Holland, 79, of Springfield, died Thursday June 2, 2016 at Christian Care Center in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Monday June 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Roy McGregor and Bro. John Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Mark England, Josh England, Ryan Hall, Timmy Holland, Charlie Holland, Ryan Spivey, Phillip Knight, and Chris Holland serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the employee’s of Christian Care Center in Springfield. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Holland was born April 7, 1937 in Robertson County to the late James Arnold and Mattie Virginia Owens Holland. He worked as a machine operator at Southern Heel in Springfield until they closed, and then he worked at Hinkle Chair Company. Mr. Holland was of the Baptist faith, and he enjoyed square dancing, country music, and Elvis Presley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Nancy Carol Holland, and his brothers: Raymond and Tommy Holland.
Mr. Holland is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Sonya and Jerry Henry of Greenbrier, Angela and Larry Pollard of Springfield, son: Randy (Deborah Holt) Holland of Springfield, brothers and sisters-in-law: W.C. and Nancy Holland of South Carolina, Jerry and Kitty Holland of Dandridge, Kathy Holland of Springfield, sister and brother-in-law: Patsy and John Turner of Crossville, grandchildren: Mark England, Josh (Leslie) England, Ryan Hall, great grandchildren: Charlea, Sadie, Karsyn, and Sydney England, a host of nieces and nephews.
Obituary for Carol Knox Hoff
Carol Knox Hoff, 67, of Pleasant View, died Thursday June 2, 2016 at her home. Funeral services were conducted Saturday June 4th at 12 noon in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Chaplain Byron Dumas officiating. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Scott Knox, Daniel Gregory, Jerry Keeton, Jerry Harbison, Jarret Knox, and Wayne Drake serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Carol was born April 18, 1949 in Robertson County to the late Carlton W. and Juanita Drake Knox. She had worked as a secretary for Hardaway Construction Company. Carol enjoyed playing the piano and she was a member of Dickerson Road Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Richard Hoff of Pleasant View, sons and daughter-n-law: Lance Hoff of Pleasant View, Shea and Brandi Hoff of Shelbyville, brothers and sisters-in-law: Milton and Judy Knox of Dayton, Bill and Gina Knox of Hendersonville, grandchildren: Colin Ryan Hoff, Annaliese Hoff, and Sanne Hoff.

Obituary for Wayne Allen Stephenson, Jr.
Wayne Allen Stephenson, Jr., 46 of Greenbrier, died Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. (FULL STORY) Memorial services were conducted Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Randolph officiating. Burial of remains followed in St. Michaels Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. Stephenson was born December 25, 1969 in Robertson County. He was of the Baptist faith and was a contractor. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and served in the Gulf War. For his service he received several awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal with three stars, Good Conduct Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, and Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle and he loved to play golf. Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Logan Stephenson.
Mr. Stephenson is survived by his wife, Mickie Stephenson of Greenbrier; daughters, McKenzie Stephenson of Greenbrier, Lindsey Mays of Nashville, and Audrey Boles of Greenbrier; son, Trevor Boles of Greenbrier; parents, Wayne and Shirley Stephenson of Springfield; sister, Lisa Richards and husband David of Cedar Hill; nephew, Quentin Richards; and niece, Sara Beth Richards.

Judith Kaye Smith, 59, of Hendersonville, died Saturday May 28, 2016 at her home. Funeral services were conducted Thursday June 2nd at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Evangelist Frances Mazzaferro officiating. Interment followed in Maple Hill Cemetery in Portland. The family received friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith was born January 27, 1957 in Davidson County to the late Fred and Lenora Hodges Hudgins. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved crafts, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas Sidney Smith, her brother: Mike Hudgins, and her sister: Terry Biggs. Mrs. Smith is survived by her son: Johnathan Kayne Gillaspie and partner Ian Anderson of Nashville, daughter and son-in-law: Michelle and Tony Clardy of Hendersonville, step-son: Ronnie Smith and wife Marcy of Virginia, step-daughters: Tina Swann and husband Chuck of Hendersonville, Kim Wallace of Greenbrier, brothers: Fred Hudgins of Portland, and Bruce Hudgins of Hendersonville, sisters: Paula Fisher of Springfield, Cindy Byrom of Portland, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

Mr. Wales Russell Woods passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Ansel & Virginia Woods, and his sister Rosiellan Pauley.
Wales Russell Woods is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet woods; Daughter, Amy (Todd) Tate, and Cindy (Jeff) Williams; Brothers, Danny (Patti) Woods, and Jay Woods; Sisters, Madeline Stanley, and Jean (Jimmy) Johnson; Grandchildren, Bill (Allie) Williams, Jesse Williams, Jeremy Tate, Cassidy Tate, and Layla Tate; Several nieces and nephews.

Obituary for Rebecca Carter
Annie Rebecca Carter, age 92, of Cedar Hill, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 1pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Joe Rushing and Dr. Tommy Crunk officiating and congregational singing being led by Daniel Rushing. Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery with her grandsons, Christopher Carter, Phillip Mason, Jason Ellis, Clint Mason, Jason Martin, Bradley Callis, Adam Callis and CW03 Andy Ellis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the Men of Cedar Hill Church of Christ. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 4-8pm and again on Tuesday from 11am until the hour of service at 1pm.
Mrs. Carter was born February 22, 1924 in Logan County, KY to the late Henry Lester and Audrey Borden McIntosh. She was a homemaker and member of the Cedar Hill Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Candace Carter, her step-grandson, Chris Baker, her great-grandchildren, Angel Grace Winski and Paula Elaine Mason, her brothers, James McIntosh and Woodrow McIntosh, and her sisters, Bessie Mae Carter and Jessie Lee McIntosh.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband of 75 ½ years, Willie Carter; sons, Edgar (Joy) Carter of Royal Oak, MI and Steve (Wanda) Carter of Springfield; daughters, Faye (Aubrey) Ellis of Greenbrier, Wanda (Tommy) Mason of Springfield, Gail (Don) Jenkins of Cedar Hill and Penny (Frankie) Callis of Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Frances Evelyn Morrow, age 84, of Cedar Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 2, 2016. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Frank Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Morrow was born January 16, 1932 in Monterey, TN to the late Edgar and Lola Blaylock Buckner. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Morrow is preceded in death by her first husband, J.C. Reynolds, her second husband, Alford B. Morrow, her daughter, Linda Sue Morrow, her son, Larry James Reynolds and her sister, Mabel Woolbright.
Mrs. Morrow is survived by her sons, Jerry M. (Carol) Reynolds of Paris, TN, Stephen L. (Patsy) Reynolds of Cedar Hill and Benny Morrow of Nashville; daughters, Brenda Petty of the Youngville Community and Diana (Paul) Roland of Springfield; brother, Ed Carson (Thelma) Buckner, Jr. of Monterey, TN; sisters, Alma Garrett, Henrietta Langford and Edna Rae (Jr.) Reeves, all of Monterey, TN; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Dorothy Loretta Wright
Age 86 of Cottontown, TN passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1930 in East Prairie, MO to Robert Lee and Hallie Levitta Willeford Newhouse, and was the oldest of 11 children. She worked as a rural mail carrier for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Wright was an avid reader, loved gardening, cooking and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of The Church at Grace Park.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Wright, Jr.; sisters, Jenny Brann & Marie Beard; brothers, Charles Newhouse & Paul Newhouse.
Survived by son, Forrest (Pam) Wright, Florence, AL; daughters, Peggy (Johnny) Clinton, Spring Hill, TN and Laura (Stanley) Light, Cottontown, TN; brothers, Bob (Nadine) Newhouse, Dyersburg, TN, Jack (Corinne) Newhouse, Morgan City, LA, Gary Newhouse, Lexington, KY, Ronnie (Gail) Newhouse, Dyersburg, TN and Donnie (Marsha) Newhouse, Pineville, LA; sister, Tommie Ruth Smith, Dyersburg, TN; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, June 3, 2016 at 1pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home, with Bro. Kris Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in White House Memorial Gardens with Matt Wright, Scooter Light, Aussie Light, Clint Biederman, Johnny Clinton and Jamie Ragsdale serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held Thursday, June 2, 2016 5-8pm and Friday, June 3, 2016 11am-1pm at the funeral home.

Obituary for Nelda Loggains
Nelda Jean Green Loggains, age 74, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at her home. Ms. Loggains remains will be cremated and buried in Alabama at a later date.
Ms. Loggains was born March 30, 1942 in Beaverton, Alabama to the late Reed and Beaulah Hogan Green. She worked as a seamstress for many years.
In addition to her parents Ms. Loggains is preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Plunkett and her siblings, Terry and Jerry Maxey, Charles Avery and Ruth Lowman.
Ms. Loggains is survived by her sons, Danny Plunkett of Brinkley, Arkansas, and David Plunkett, Jeff Plunkett and Claude “Bubba” Loggains, Jr., all of Savannah, Tennessee; daughters, Fay (Tim) Bressler of Savannah, Tennessee and Teresa (Sam) Warren of Springfield; brother, Eddie Joe (Rita) Plunkett of Selmer, Tennessee; sisters, Betty (Eddie) Shaffield of Dothan, Alabama, JoAnn McLamore of Braggadocio, Missouri and Judy (David) Holloway of Alabama; 26 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Mrs. Margaret “Peggi” Rose
Margaret Mary Rose (ne Bowman), aged 90, passed away on May 28, 2016. She was born on November 8, 1925 in Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, Canada. “Peggi” was a woman of strong faith; a loving wife, mother and grandmother; an animal lover; incredibly creative; her family’s greatest cheerleader, and endlessly gracious to everyone she met.
Mrs. Rose graduated from Shawinigan Falls High School in 1943. She attended McGill University in Montreal, and then transferred to Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, where she graduated in 1947 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and applied arts. She met and married William Sansom, of Montreal, in Shawinigan Falls, where he was working following his World War II service and graduation from McGill University. She taught elementary school for several years in northern Canada. In the following years, the DuPont de Nemours Company transferred them twice between Canada and the United States. Her two children were born during their transfers to Delaware. In 1966 they moved to Hendersonville, TN where Peggi resided for the most of the rest of her life.
Following the death of her fist husband from cancer, she met and married Shan Rose, whose first wife also died of cancer. They ran Shan’s business, G.R. Distributing, for several years, and then worked in the sales at Mount Olivet Cemetery and Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Rose later worked at Factory Jewelers, Jared’s and Dillards.
Mrs. Rose loved her family, and supported all their endeavors. From acting as driver to her son’s weekend motocross races and her daughters late night horse shows, to cheering on her grandchildren in soccer, baseball and basketball games, she always owned dogs r cats, and had an affinity for any animal in need. She was the original ‘whisperer’; all animals- wild or tame- responded to her. Mrs. Rose was also incredibly creative. Among her talents were jewelry design and fabrication, wood-carving, metal and leather working, painting, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She was also an avid gardener and bird-watcher-interests she shared with her own mother.
Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her first husband, William Sansom and her parents Thomas Arthur and Mary Weir Bowman. She is survived by her husband Shan Rose of Hendersonville, TN; her daughter Sidonie Sansom of Oakland, CA; her son Randy Sansom (Michelle) of Hendersonville, TN; her granddaughter Alex Sansom and her grandson Will Sansom of Hendersonville, TN; her step-children Shannon Johnson (Jim) of Greenbrier, TN; Hubert Rose (Nancy) of Paris, TN; Althea Rose (Phil) of Brooksville, FL; Art Rose of Greenbrier, TN; their children and grandchildren.
Memorial Service was held at the Gallatin Church of Christ on Tuesday May 31st, at 10:30 o’clock in the morning. Gathering of Friends and Family was held at the Gallatin Church of Christ from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the memorial service.
