Obituary for Cheri Dorene Braswell

Cheri Dorene Braswell, age 40 of Springfield, died Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Porter Ray Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Corey Braswell, Chris Braswell, Tyler Braswell, Matt Plummer, Jacob Plummer, Brandon Martindale, Big Jonathan Honaker, Little Jonathan Honaker, Brian Young, Justin Busby, and Mark Pentecost serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Braswell, Dallas Honaker, and Montana Honaker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 until 8 PM and again on Tuesday from 11 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Braswell was born December 20, 1978 in Robertson County to Dickie Braswell and Dora “Dodie” Greer. She was a student and a member of the Psychiatric Honor Society and Alpha PSY CHI. She enjoyed making furniture and loved the outdoors especially camping, fishing, and her favorite bonfires. She loved helping others as demonstrated at her death by being a full organ donor.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, John “Buck” Pentecost and Dixie and Betty Braswell.

Surviving her are her wife, Jennifer Braswell of Springfield; father, Dickie Braswell and wife Lynne of Springfield; mother Dora “Dodie” Greer and fiancé’ Joseph Rice of Greenbrier; sons, Timothy Knight of Springfield; daughters, Brittany Knight of Springfield and Brandy Busby and husband Justin of Burns; brothers, Christopher Lee Braswell of White House and Corey Allan Braswell and wife Angie of Springfield; sister, Rachael Murray and husband Robert of Springfield; grandmother, Ann Pentecost of Springfield; step-grandparents, Frank and Marilyn floral squareSwinea of Springfield; grandchildren, Wyatt Knight, Damien Busby, Penelope Busby, and Amara Coleman; nephews, Corey Tyler Braswell, Austin Franklin Murray, Ethan Robert Murray, and Lucian Samuel Murray; nieces, Ashley Nicole Braswell and Sara Elizabeth Braswell; and great nephew, Dawson Knox Braswell, and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Obituary for Freeman Neal

Freeman Neal, age 95 of Springfield, died Thursday, April 18, 2019 at NorthCrest Medical Center. In honor of his request his remains will be cremated and no services are planned.

Mr. Neal was born October 16, 1923 in Springfield to the late John Robert and Ruby Sinclair Ethridge Neal. He was a retired butcher and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He enjoyed the outdoors especially watching birds and enjoyed watching westerns on television. In addition to floral squarehis parents, he was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Velma Neal of Springfield; eight step-children; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Kenna RobardsKenna Brooke Gupton Robards, age 28, passed away on Sunday, April 14th 2019.

Kenna entered into this life on March 8, 1991 in Nashville, TN daughter of Kenneth Gupton, and Jackie Gamble Gupton. She married Lucas Phillip Nicholas Robards on September 13th, 2014. She graduated from Austin Peay State University with a BA in Education, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She taught 7th Grade Mathematics at Rossview Middle School for six years and received accolades for her dedication to her students. Spending time with family and friends, teaching, and traveling were some of Kenna’s greatest passions. She worked passionately for her students and cared deeply for her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by grandparents, Don Gupton, Maxine Gupton, Levetta Gupton, George “Jack” Gamble, Pauline Gamble, and Phil Harris.

She is survived by her husband, Lucas Phillip Nicholas Robards; parents, Kenneth (Beth) Gupton, and Jackie Gamble Gupton; grandmother, Rosemary Harris; brothers, Daniel Scott (Madison) Gupton, and William Parker Gupton; niece, Charlie Kate Gupton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nick and Joan Robards. Kenna is also survived by her beloved dog, Chipper Robards.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Gupton, Parker Gupton, Tyler Wooden, Wade Etherton, Stephen Reed, Eric Powers, Bryan Ingle, and Sean Powers. Rossview Middle School teachers and staff, and Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority will serve as honorary pallbearers.

floral squareA Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at First Baptist Church Clarksville-Grace Chapel with Rev. Pat Van Dyke officiating. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at First Baptist Church Clarksville- Grace Chapel, and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Larry Randall Pollard, Sr., 74, of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday April 15, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, April 18th at 1:00 p.m. in the Hudgins Cemetery in Fairview. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Mr. Pollard was born February 21, 1945 in Davidson County to the late Henry Newson Pollard and Trula Iona Tidwell Pollard. He worked as a bicycle repairman and was of the Church of Christ faith. Mr. Pollard loved to fish, and he was a gentle man to all that knew him.

He was born February 9, 1947 in Glasgow, KY to the late Carlos and Emily Pearl Smith Elmore. He was also preceded in death by wife, Sheila Baxter Elmore; siblings, Hendon Elmore, Nina Jean Baucum; stepson, Brandon Teal; stepdaughters, Betty Anderson and Melissa Carter.

He was a Contractor in the flooring business and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Scottsville, KY and also attended Organic Community Church in Greenbrier.

Mrs. Grant was born September 24, 1924 in Greenville, KY to the late Winfield and Pauline Goodman Annes. She worked in the Finishing Department at Hinkle Chair Company, was of the Baptist faith and loved quilting.

Karl was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was the owner of D.K.D. Electronics.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Lona DeKnoblough. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Helen Shreeve DeKnoblough; daughters, Karla (Skip) Link and Pam (Michael) Box; stepchildren, Allen Shreeve and David (Stephanie) Shreeve; grandchildren, Greg Shreeve, Austin Shreeve, Shelby Shreeve, Kristy Shreeve, James Kemp, Stephen Box and Spencer Box; 6 great-grandchildren also survive.

He was born July 4, 1934 in Springfield, TN to the late Louis “Frank” and Annie “Eva” Morris Bibee. He was also preceded in death by wife, Joyce Walden Bibee; brothers, Clifford and his wife Mary Bibee, Virgil Bibee, Burns Bibee; sister, Annie Carroll and grandson, Samuel Martin.

He worked for Heel Plant in Springfield and was retired as an electrician from Dupont. He served in the US Army. He loved riding motorcycles, fixing old lawn mowers and weed eaters and doing odd jobs for his friends.

He is survived by son, Richard Alan (Mary Frances) Bibee; daughter, Brenda Michele (Robert) Turner; companion of 26 years, Barbara Wood; brother, Leroy (Sylvia) Bibee; sister-in-law, Ro Bibee; grandchildren, John Alan (Lorie) Bishop, Joshua Henry Green; step-grandson, Trevor Harper and granddaughter, Katherine Joy Bibee; 4 great granddaughters and 3 great-great granddaughters and 1 great-great grandson.

Joy was born on February 25, 1946 in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Arthur and Mary Jo Spicer Henderson. She was retired after 25 years at Acme Boot Company and was a wonderful cook at Dainty’s Sudden Service for 15 years. She was a member of Oakland Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Balthrop; and a son, Stevie Balthrop.

Bill was born on October 8, 1952 in Nashville to the late Raymond and Charlotte Norred Whitt. He was formerly employed at AIG insurance. He loved music and played the guitar. He enjoyed drag racing and was an avid golfer. He was a Christian.
