Obituary for Wanda Maberry
Wanda Maberry, age 57, passed away Thursday April 18 at Centennial Medical Center.
She chose to be cremated with no services to follow. Her daughters have agreed to follow her wishes.
She was born on March 18, 1962 to Maurice Hart and Nancy Mai (Kennedy) Hart, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was survived by daughter Julie Metz and son-in-law 
Brandon Metz; daughter Lindsey Maberry; brothers Jeffery (Debbie) Hart, Donald (Jeannie) Hart, and Marcus (Christine) Hart; along with many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Cremation services provided through Nashville Cremation Center in Nashville TN.
Obituary for Phillip Wayne Benton
Phillip Wayne Benton, 73, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at North Crest Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday April 27th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Benton was born January 24, 1946 in Springfield to the late Paul and Martha Jane Gibbs Benton. He was a retired truck driver and logger, having worked many years at Benton Lumber Company. Mr. Benton was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He loved collecting knives and guns and his dogs. He worked all his life, and his favorite hobby was working. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Ruby Dorris Benton.
Mr. Benton is survived by his wife: Sandra Wright Benton of Springfield, by his son and daughter-in-law: David-Paul and Amanda Benton of Springfield, by his grandchildren: Elizabeth and Caleb Benton, and by his best buddy, Bear, his Russian German Shepard.

Obituary for Frances Brown Jones
Frances Brown Jones, 72, of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at Skyline Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 26th at 3:00 p.m. at Springfield First United Methodist Church with Reverend Ed Coy, Reverend Jerry Wallace, and Reverend Dr. Jason Wilkerson officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 noon until service time at Springfield First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Jones was born May 26, 1946 in Jellico, TN to the late Robert L. and Melba Hill Brown. She was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Mrs. Jones served as treasurer for SECURE in Springfield. She retired as a Special Education teacher at Springfield High School. Mrs. Jones was a member of Springfield First United Methodist Church for many years, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. She later moved her membership to Woodland Street United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and being involved in church activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Reverend Joel T. Jones, by her brother: David Brown, and by her grandson: Gabriel Jones.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Craig and Shawn Jones of Springfield, her sisters and brother-in-law: Roberta Bailey, Mary Fay and Woody Masingill all of Conway, Arkansas, and by her grandchildren: Bryce, Anna, Eliza, and Carson Jones.

Jesse Leroy Ray, age 66 of Cedar Hill, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 26, 2019 at 4:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Following the service his remains will be cremated.
Mr. Ray was born July 26, 1952 in Shelbyville, IN to the late Eddie Ray, Sr. He was a retired paramedic, having worked for both the Robertson and Sumner County EMS. He was devoted to his work. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his sons, Josh Ray and wife Krystal of Cedar Hill and Zachary L. Ray of Indiana; grandchildren, Kaylee, Jaydyn, and Jordon Ray of Cedar Hill; and brother, Eddie Ray, Jr. of Shelbyville, IN.

Roy Eugene Ivie, 50, of Cedar Hill, passed from this life on Monday April 22, 2019 at his residence.

Roy was born August 4, 1968 in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from George County High School in Lucedale, MS in 1987. He was of the Free Will Baptist faith. Roy loved singing and listening to music and watching movies. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, where he enjoyed laughing and teasing all of them. The joy of his heart was his daughter and his grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his father: Jerry Lee Ivie, and by his nephew: Daniel Jones.
Roy is survived by his daughter: Stephanie Ivie of Gulf Shores, AL, his mother: Louise Yvonne Dawson Swint of Cedar Hill, his sister: Lisa Jones of Cedar Hill, his brother: Robert Swint of Cedar Hill, his nephews: David and Jeremy Jones, by his grandchildren: Jacob Ivie, Gracie Ivie, and Christian Bova, by other extended family, and by his best buddy, Max, his cat.

Bradley Scott “Brad” Gower, 40, of Cedar Hill, passed away on Sunday April 21, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 26th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Billy Ellis and Brother Jerry Heflin officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Chris Duke, Chris Traughber, Jimmy Henley, Joey Newberry, Scott Dillehay, Jeromy Lewis, Ryan Sherrill, and J.W. Robertson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Brad was born July 18, 1978 in Davidson County. He graduated from South Haven Christian Academy in 1996 and was a member of Head’s Free Will Baptist Church. Brad was co-owner of Gower Brothers Construction Company. He loved hunting, woodworking, boating, going to the lake, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dewell and Emma Gower, James and Ida Jackson.
Brad is survived by his wife: Jessica Harbert Gower of Cedar Hill, his children: Branden, Kaylynn, and Emma Gower all of Cedar Hill, his father and mother: Terry and Jean Jackson Gower of Springfield, his brother and sister-in-law: Brent and Melissa Gower of Cedar Hill, and by his nephews: Holden Gower, Brayden, Aeson, and Cannyn Harbert.

Obituary for Brenda Lea King
Brenda Lea King, age 61 of Adairville, KY and formerly of Springfield, TN died Saturday April 20, 2019 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Memorial services will be held at 12 pm on Saturday April 27, 2019 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Deland Elliott, Rodger Elliott, Mike Elliott, Todd Elliott, Dale Crabtree, Chuck McBribe, Eddie King, Herbie King and Jeff King will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service.
Brenda was born June 28, 1957 in Robertson County, TN to the late William Odell and Rosetta Bugg Elliott. An infant son, Michael Todd King and a brother, Ray Dean Elliott also preceded her in death. She was a manager for Southwestern Publishing.
Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Darrell King, her son D.J. King, both of Adairville; grandchildren, Devin King of Trenton, KY, Lily King of Clifty, KY, brothers Deland (Mary) Elliott of Cedar Hill, Rodger (Jeannie) Elliott of Springfield, Mike (Lisa) Elliott of Springfield, Todd (Karen) Elliott of Orlinda, TN; her sisters, Donna (Chuck) McBride of Columbus OH, Betty (Jerry) Smiley, Rosemary (Dale) Crabtree, Pam Elliott all of Springfield; brother’s-in law, Eddie (Melody) King, Herbie (Debra) King, Jeff (Judy) King; sister-in-law, Tina (Tim) Anderson.

Obituary for Ronald Craig Harper
Age 74 of Nashville passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at The Residence of Alive Hospice. He was born October 28, 1944 in Nashville, TN to Henry Russell and Aline Wills Harper. He worked as a computer operator for Genesco before his retirement and was a member of Belmont Church. He loved working on clocks, browsing at flea markets and tinkering with the repair of things. He enjoyed drinking Dr. Pepper and was an avid Dr. Pepper memorabilia collector.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell Neil Harper. He is survived by his nephew, Mitchell (Diane) Harper; great-niece, Brittany Harper; great-nephews, Dillon and Derek Harper, all of White House, TN.
A memorial service is being planned and this obituary will be updated when arrangements are finalized.

Obituary for Ralph Coles
Ralph Eugene Coles, age 71, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2pm at the Hillcrest Church of Christ with Brother Johnny Trail officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Bruce Myers, Bill Cotton, Wade Nicks, Wesley Nicks, James Coles, Hayden Craig, Daryl Coles and Staci Johnson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the Board, the Advisory Board and all the truck drivers of the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 4-8pm and again on Saturday from 12pm until the hour of service at 2pm.
Mr. Coles was born April 30, 1947 in Nashville to the late Hiram Eugene and Maybelle Virginia Hand Coles. After working at the Neuhoff Packing Company he worked for the State of TN Highway Department in Bridge Development for 37 years. He was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ where he was an elder and worked for the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort for over 13 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Coles is preceded in death by his sister, Tonya Renee Boussie. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Reynolds Coles; son, Jason Andrew (Karen) Coles of Greenbrier; daughters, Jaime Amanda Craig of Auburntown, TN and Jennifer Alison (Wade) Nicks of Greenbrier; brother, Daryl (Sandy) Coles of Greenbrier; and grandchildren, Rebecca Coles, James Coles, Hailee Craig, Wesley Nicks, Hayden Craig and Jesse Nicks.

Obituary for James “Jim” Felton Folsom
James “Jim” Felton Folsom, age 73 of Hendersonville, TN, passed away Wednesday April 24, 2019.
Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was retired from the TVA after 36 years. He served on the Sumner County Volunteer Ambulance and the Hendersonville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a past President of the Hendersonville Citizen Police Academy Association and a past Treasurer of the Nashville Chapter of the TVARA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Felton and Verna Folsom; and a sister, Lynda Folsom. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Vicki Folsom; sons, Kevin (Holly) and Brad (Jennifer); grandchildren, Emma and Will; and sister, Brenda Sue Folsom (Alan Wheldon).
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a Celebration of Life Service on Monday, April 29 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Hendersonville at 11am. A private interment will follow.

Obituary for Wally Kirby
James Wallace, “Wally”, Kirby was born on March 16, 1947 to Dovie Rogers Kirby and Jesse Roland Kirby in Louisville, Kentucky. He died Monday, April 22, 2019.
His family lived in Macon County, Tennessee where he graduated from high school. He obtained his BS from Middle Tennessee State University in 1969 where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity and received his JD from Nashville School of Law. While attending law school, Wally was the administrator of the TBI Crime Lab from 1972-1976. Upon graduation he went to work for W. B. Lockert, Jr., as an assistant district attorney for the 23rd Judicial District, covering Cheatham, Dickson, Humphreys, Stewart and Houston counties. While working for the 23rd Judicial District he served under three District Attorneys, Lockert, Kenneth Atkins, and Dan Alsobrooks. He became the Senior District Attorney in 1990, Deputy District Attorney in 1997 and remained until he was appointed as the Executive Director of the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference in July 1999. Wally is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Roland Kirby.
He is survived by his mother, Dovie Rogers Kirby of Hendersonville, his wife, Martha Daniel Kirby, his three children, Ryan (Denise) Kirby of Murfreesboro, Jennifer (Steven) Chaffin of Chattanooga, and Jill Kirby of Nashville. He also is survived by two step-sons, Joshua (Faith) Owen and Adam (Abby) Owen, all of Charlotte. He has nine grandchildren, Chelsey Kirby, Hannah Kirby, Gracie Kirby, Ryan Marie Kirby, Isabella Kirby, Celena Kirby, Seth Chaffin, EllaClaire Chaffin and Emery Owen.
In Cheatham County he served as Chair of the Cheatham County Democratic party, member of the Child Abuse Council, member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church, member of the Cheatham County Fair Association Board, chair of Junior Pro Basketball league and coached Dixie Youth baseball.
During his tenure with the District Attorneys General Conference he served in various positions; member of Tennessee Judicial Council; member of Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Nominating Commission; vice president, National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators, 2006-2007; president, National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators, 2007-2008; and, board of directors, National District Attorneys Association.
He was the recipient of the Patrick H. McCutchen Award in October 2007 for his dedication to the goals and ideals of the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference and his efforts to improve the quality of justice to all Tennesseans; District Attorneys General Conference Child Support Award; and the conference received two Southeast Regional Emmys for the concept for two public service videos, Meth Is Death and Baby Mama, Baby Daddy. In June 2010 he received recognition by the State House of Representative, Resolution 1402, for his honorable and astute service to the people of Tennessee. He retired March 2015 after 45 years, 8 months of honorable service to the state of Tennessee.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 3-8:00pm. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00 am with no visitation Friday morning at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Obituary for Linda Joyce Ladd
Age 71 of Portland passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at her home. She was born November 14, 1947 in Nashville, TN to John Lewell and Jewell Marie Pitt Hale. She worked as a benefits specialist for Kroger before her retirement. She loved spending time with her family, especially cooking and hosting gatherings for their enjoyment. She loved Christmas and all of the holiday festivities. She sung at many funerals, weddings and talent shows across the area and was of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rufus Leslie Ladd; grandson, Taylor Garon White; infant brother, John Michael Hale; sister, Janice Hale Billings. She is survived by her son, David Bryan Lynch, Portland, TN; daughters, Janet Lynn Lynch, Portland, TN and Cristy Diane (Matthew) Fleming, Russellville, KY; sisters, Sharon (James) Webster, Portland, Tn and Diane (George) Rodgers, Hendersonville, TN; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 1pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Pastor Chris Roberts officiating. Interment followed in Halltown Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 2-9pm and Wednesday, April 24, 2019 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
