Obituary for Jimmy L. Belt
Jimmy L. Belt, 81, of Springfield, passed away on Monday August 26, 2019 at his home. Funeral services were conducted Friday August 30th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Wilson, Reverend Rick Robinson, and Jacob Belt Fuqua officiating. Interment followed in the Williams Chapel Cemetery with Sammy Justice, John Pearson, Dale Belt, Robert Belt, David Belt, Buddy Sneed, Josh Morris, Jimmy Underwood, and Richie Warren serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Hanner, J.L. Pearson, Mike Mason, Jamie Pitt, Billy Johns, Dennis Wright, J.W. Wright, Leon Pitt, Phillip Duncan, Willie Johns, Thomas Williams, Allen Frogue, Nathan Belt, and Kenneth Spivey. The family received friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Belt was born June 10, 1938 in Springfield to the late Archie and Katie Mae Bayless Belt. He was a graduate of East Robertson High School Class of 1957. Mr. Belt was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for over 38 years. Mr. Belt served on the Robertson County Commission for 8 years, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Jerry Ray Belt, and by his son-in-law: Jay Guinn Fuqua. Mr. Belt is survived by his wife of 62 years: Charlotte Sneed Belt of Springfield, by his daughters: Pamela Belt Neal of White House and Cindy Belt Fuqua of Springfield, by his brother: Bobby Dean Belt of Atlanta, GA, by his grandchildren: Jayda Fuqua Tubbs and husband Justin, Jacob Belt Fuqua and wife Jordan, Emily Neal Hood and husband Caleb, and by his great grandchildren: Jessa Guinn Tubbs, Jett Ralston Fuqua, and Jaylen Barnett.

Obituary for Edward Swinson Jr
Edward Swinson Jr, also known as “Mr. Ed” died Saturday August 24, 2019 at NHC Springfield. Funeral services were held at 12 pm on Friday August 30, 2019 officiated by Rossi Bennett. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 am until 11:45 pm.
Mr. Ed was born January 6, 1939 in Jacksonville, NC to the late Edward Swinson Sr and Ardell Jenkins Swinson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Wilson Swinson, son, Grayson Swinson Sr and siblings, Sarah Flynn, Nellie Batson, Claudie Swinson, Leon Swinson, Samuel Swinson, Charlotte Osborne, Lillie Coleman and Mary Barber. He was a member of North Springfield Baptist Church, a veteran of the National Guard and was retired from TDOT where he worked in road construction. Mr. Ed loved to travel and in his younger years did so many times by hitch hiking. He was a collector of coins, guns, antiques and especially loved watching westerns.
Surviving him are his sons, Jeff Swinson and Benji Swinson Sr., daughter, Debbie Kehres, siblings, Susan Davis, Cybil Marshburn and Kenny Swinson, grandchildren, Christina (Chris) Heard, Jody (Kuk) Son, Ashley Kehres, Grayson Swinson Jr., Brandy Swinson, Richard Kehres, Justin Kehres, Benji Swinson Jr. and Alescia Swinson, great grandchildren, Charissa Heard, Kayleigh Ayers, Kylie Swinson, Kinsley Hardin, Khyree Bryant, Joseph Son, Kira Son and Angie Nguyen.

Obituary for Steven Wayne Andress
Steven Wayne Andress, age 47 of Cedar Hill, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Hodges officiating. The family received friends Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM and Wednesday from 11 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. Andress was born November 2, 1971 in Davidson County. He was a member of Barren Plains Baptist Church and worked for the State of Tennessee. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Marco Andress, and by grandparents, Roy Kenneth and Cora Sue Bilbrey.
Steven was always considerate of everyone. He had a soft and very kind heart. He was always willing and eager to help anyone. He made life joyful and would always make you laugh. He loved to tell stories about his adventures and trials in life. He would always try to teach you everything he knew. Steven was very intelligent and could do anything, whether it was with his hands or his mind, he always knew how to handle any project. He was an adventurous person. He loved being on the water, boating and canoeing, grilling to perfection, riding his 4-wheeler, and watching football. He was a loving and caring man who will remain in the hearts of the ones he loved forever.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Debbie and David Pulley; wife, Renee Andress; sister, Shannon Dillehay and husband, Scott; niece, Camryn Dillehay; nephew, Benjamin Dillehay; and friend, Ada Brown.

Obituary for Carole Jane Rowlette Benton
Carole Jane Rowlette Benton, age 83 of the Owens Chapel Community in Springfield, died Friday, August 23, 2019 at her home.
Funeral Services were conducted Monday, August 26, 2r019 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Robinson officiating. Burial followed in Owens Chapel Cemetery with Joshua Benton, Bud Benton, Casey Buck, Brandon Weaver, Mike Meyer, and Steve Meyer serving as pallbearers. The family received friends Sunday from 1 until 5 PM and Monday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mrs. Benton was born November 7, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Joseph Dewitt and Annie Laura Brinkley Rowlette. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Joy Wilson and Laura Estep, and a granddaughter, Emily Ann Benton.
She is survived by her husband, William Earl Benton of Springfield to whom she would have been married 65 years on August 28th; sons , Richard Earl Benton and wife, Carol, of Springfield and Joseph Frank Benton and wife, Cindy, of Springfield; daughter, Bethany Jane Lampley and husband, Michael, of Dickson; sister, JoAnne Mayberry of Springfield; grandchildren, Amy Jo Meyer, Joshua Benton, William “Bud” Benton, Benjamin Woods, Julianna J. Weaver, and Casey D. Buck; and great grandchildren, Mike Meyer, Emily Paige Pentecost, Aniya Woods, Isabella Buck, Jaxon Woods, Paisley Jane Weaver, Elijah Buck, and Bryson Benton.

Obituary for Rev. Jeff W. Fryer
Reverend Jeff W. Fryer, of Springfield, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 2, 2019 at 1o’clock in the chapel of Springfield First United Methodist Church with Reverend Jerry Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the Springfield Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, September 3rd at 10 o’clock with friends and family serving as Pallbearers.
Visitation with the family will be held Monday from 11am until the hour of service at 1pm.
Reverend Fryer was born July 15, 1922 to the late Zack and Emma Choate Fryer in Robertson County, TN. He attended Martin College; Austin and Peay State University and Vanderbilt University School of Religion. He served the ministry for 45 years until his retirement in 1988. It began in 1943 with the Methodist Church where he was ordained in 1949, Deacon in 1951, Elder in 1953 and retired in 1988 from Springfield First United Methodist Church. After a short recess, he became a part-time pastor at Highland Chapel Union Church in Ridgetop, TN where he served for another 18 years. Other appointments where he served were; 1952, Smyrna; 1956, Old Hickory; 1960 Andrew Price; 1970, Brentwood; 1980 District Superintendent, Cumberland District Superintendent.
Along with his parents, Reverend Fryer is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years Naomi Hinkle Fryer; and son-in-law, Michael Jackson. He is survived by his son, Randall (Alexandra) Fryer of Nashville; daughter, June Jackson of Seattle, WA; brother, Delwin Fryer of Gallatin; grandchildren, Jeffrey Fryer, Mari (Joe) O’Neil, Miranda (Mike) Wood and Lindsay (Pal) Walker; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Austin and Matthew Wood, Naomi and Thomas O’Neil and Harley and Cynthia Fryer; and great great-grandson Wailyn Wood.

Obituary for John Udell Cook
Age 81 of Hendersonville, formerly of Cottontown, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 29, 2019 at The Residence of Alive Hospice.
He was born October 9, 1937 in Bexar, Texas to Edward Ward & Aleen Joyce Covington Cook. He worked as a Project Engineer for Albany International before his retirement. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and attended White House General Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 4 children, Randall Edward Cook, Tami Rena Cook, Sherri Lynn Cook and Angela Covington; brother, Thomas Cook; sister, Anita Brown. He is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Joan Pond Cook, Hendersonville, TN; daughters, Sarah Renee (John Pepper) Lund, Hendersonville, TN and Jennifer Rae (Michael) Melton, Readyville, TN; brothers, Jerry Cook, Orlinda, TN and Marvin (Kay) Cook, Clarksville, TN; sister, Lanola (Tommy) Davis, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Joshua, David & Katherine Covington , Jessica Covington Brehm, Kyle, Nolan, Taylor and Spencer Melton.
Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 3pm at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church 3851 Pleasant Grove Road White House, TN 37188, with Bro. Larry Treadway and Bro. Clayton Hall officiating. Obituary for Mary Schutt
Mary Bowen Schutt, age 72, of Franklin, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Signature Healthcare in Portland.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 30, 2019 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial followed in the Bellwood Cemetery with her grandsons, Kenneth Schutt, Camron Schutt, Cody Hudnall, Jonathan Schutt, Philip Schutt and Ethan Schutt serving as pallbearers. Mr. Michael Barnhart is an Honorary Pallbearer.
Visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday from 11am until the hour of service at 2pm.
Mrs. Schutt was born March 10, 1947 in Clarksville, TN to the late William J. and Georgia Rose Bowen, Sr. She was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Schutt is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Kenneth Schutt.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth W. Schutt of Cedar Hill; daughters, Victoria Lynn Potter of Franklin, KY, Amanda Marie Schutt of Cedar Hill and Stephanie Joann (Tracy) Hudnall of Franklin, KY; brothers, William Jessie Bowen, Jr., Jerry L. Bowen, Billy C. Bowen, Donnie L. Bowen, Ronnie Bowen, Billy Jo Bowen and Bobby Lee Bowen, all of Nashville; sisters, Annie E. Harper and Belinda S. Peden, both of Nashville; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Dwayne Allen Thieme
Dwayne Allen Thieme age 87, of Farragut, Tennessee died August 27, 2019.
Dwayne served in the US Navy – Korean War. He was employed by the US Dept. of HUD, from which he retired.
Survivors include his wife Betty (Richter); son, David; daughters, Carol Allen (Jesse) and Janet Ambrose (Harvey).
Burial will be at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

Obituary for Mary Ruth Miles Jones
Mary Ruth Miles Jones, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019 at her home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Springfield Baptist Church with Brother Martin Babb officiating. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery with Bruce Jones, Jarrod Holman, Justin Holman, Corey Richardson, Bob Sneed, Carden Bagwell, Wesley Pepper and Jerry Whitaker serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Nichols, Jerry West, Ted Stubblefield, Bill Simmons and the Winnie Mae Shannon Sunday School Class at Springfield Baptist Church.
Visitation was held at the church on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 4-7pm and on Wednesday at the church from 9am until the hour of service at 10am.
She was born on June 28, 1920 in Springfield to the late William H. and Elizabeth (Bess) Miles. Ruth graduated from Springfield High School in 1937 and from Western Ky University in 1941. She was advanced a grade in high school and thus, graduated from college with her sister in the same year. Her mother closed the farm operation and moved with the two girls to the college town and got a job as a dorm mother until the girls graduated. Her mother, even though a widow, sent all four of her children to college. The boys became engineers and Betty Kate a teacher. Ruth was more of a math and science person.
Mrs. Jones’ first job was in a gun powder factory near Louisville, Ky during WWII where she was employed as a chemist. Her husband also had moved to Louisville and they were married there in 1942. Their first car was an old police car that had a hole in the back seat where the large radio had been place previously. It had to be taken to the mechanic every weekend for repair. They lived in one room with a shared bathroom with some other couples. He worked at Belknap Hardware Co. and later was put on the road traveling in Robertson County area. They moved back to Springfield and lived with her mother in a hundred year old 1800s built house on Adairville Highway. They later moved to Connell St. in town and have made their home in Springfield since then.
Mrs. Jones was a competitive Bridge player and had an uncanny mind to remember numbers and cards which led her to be ranked in the Bridge Community. She headed up a Cub Scout Den and also was a Girl Scout leader. She was also a great tennis player, winning a tennis championship in her late 70s, badminton competitor and ping-pong player. None of her children could beat her. She was an amazing athlete. She was given a ping pong table for her 90th birthday and she began showing her great-grandchildren how she could still beat them. She was an avid believer in exercise and healthy eating. She was one of the regular walkers at The Center until her 99th birthday.
Near the end of her life she often said she wondered why God let her live so long. In her last days she repeatedly saying she wanted to “go home.” She did not mean her Springfield home but to Heaven. She longed to be with God and her family there because she had no doubt that they were all believers and saved for Heaven’s home and to be with Christ.
Even though she was not able to hear preaching at her church, Springfield Baptist Church, due to her loss of hearing, she came every Sunday. She even was baptized with her oldest son when he was baptized because she felt it was the thing to do with him. She would talk to people about God, even strangers, if she thought that was what was needed to be done. She loved her Sunday School Class, the Winnie Mae Shannon Class, and her church and rarely ever missed. Like her mother, she was an avid Bible reader. She never put herself first but attended to several other family members in nursing homes and when they were in need. She was always “there” for everyone. She was a generous giver and sacrificed many things for the betterment of others no matter what she had to give up. When she saw someone in need she went all out to help alleviate that need. If we all could be like her, it certainly would be a better world. She will never be forgotten.
Her family wants to give a very special thanks to Dr. Teresa Williams for her wonderful, loving care during the past few years of her life. There is no better doctor than Dr. Williams. Springfield is very fortunate to have such a qualified and caring physician.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Jones is preceded in her death by her husband, William H. Jones, her brothers, William Polk Miles and John Woodard Miles, sister Betty Kate Townsend and great grandson, Crockett Holman. She is survived by her children, William Bruce Jones Sr. and his wife, Caffie of Springfield, Richard Allen Jones and his wife, Jana of Ridgetop and Kathy Sneed and her husband, Bob of Cedar Hill; 5 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Donations, if desired, can be made to the Stokes Brown Library, where she spent much time reading. Also, the Springfield Baptist Church Library or the Willow Oaks Center for the Arts. Any donations may be sent in care of Austin & Bell.

Obituary for Martin Glenn Jones
Martin Glenn Hones, 94, passed peacefully August 25, 2019. Born in Greenbrier, TN on September 20, 1924, Glenn loved growing up on a farm and learning farming at an early age. He and his father, while working for other farmers, were able to purchase a farm of their own called Lee Jones and Son.
Glenn was a Boy Scout and was only one requirement away from Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Springfield High School, where he was a cheerleader. He then attended Tennessee Technological University and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he joined Pi Kappa Phi. After completing boot camp for World War II, Glenn was asked by the Robertson County Agent to teach classes at Jo Byrns High School on new farming techniques which aided them in growing crops to feed the military during the war.
Glenn later worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority Knoxville, TN as a land appraiser. In 1959 he met his future wife at a Young Farmers and Homemakers State Committee Meeting. Glenn and Bettie Katherine Allen were married June 9, 1961 and to this union was born their daughter, Susan, on July 10, 1964.
Glenn worked for TVA for 22-1/2 years moving with the company to Jackson, TN, Murray, KY, Estill Springs, TN and finally making Chattanooga, TN their home, where Glenn served as Supervisor of Land Appraisals for many years. He held membership with the Right-of-Way Association during this time.
For the next 30 years he worked as a Land Appraiser & Reviewing Appraiser for the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation where he worked full time until his retirement at the age of 87.
Glenn was a former member of First Baptist Church, Tullahoma, TN where he sang in the choir and taught preschool Sunday school under Pastor, Dr. Tom Madden and Minister of Music, Reverend Ward A. Weaver.
Glenn was a longtime member of Brainerd Baptist Church where he formerly taught the College and Career Sophomores Sunday School Department, the preschool 4 Sunday School Class (Jones Class), and the Extended Session. Glenn and Bettie Katherine loved teaching the 4 year old’s along with Martha Hathorne, Edna Farmer, and Jeanette Deacon, under the Minster of Preschool and Children’s Director, Phyllis Nicholson, and Pastor, Reverend Bill Bond, and Minister of Education, Reverend Robert Cooper.
Glenn served on the Benevolence Committee, as Deacon, and former Vice Chairman of Deacons at Brainerd Baptist under the leadership of Dr. Frank H. Crumpler. He was an honorary member of the Good News Sunday School Class.
During their daughter’s school years, Glenn was always active in school activities with Mrs. Bean’s Kindergarten in Winchester, TN, Estill Springs Elementary, Ooltewah Elementary and Middle Schools.
He served as an officer at Ooltewah High School Choir Boosters, and was an active member with the Parent-Teacher Student Association and Hamilton County Council of PTA.
Raising cows, vegetables and flower gardening as well as family time were some of Glenn’s favorite times-especially getting to share the vegetables and flowers with family and friends. He especially loved growing daffodils and gladiolas.
He loved people, his family and his friends. He was the finest husband, father and grandfather and a friend to all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lee and Annie Lou Poole Jones, and sister Katherine Ruth Meggs.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bettie Katherine Allen Jones; daughter, Susan Elizabeth (Roger) Martin, Goodlettsville, TN; grandchildren, Christopher William Martin, Chattanooga and Katherine Elizabeth Martin, Goodlettsville, TN; brother-in-law, the Reverend Wendell A. Meggs, Springfield, TN; nephew, Mark Anderson Meggs, Jeffersonville, IN.
Chattanooga services will be held Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 1pm EST at Brainerd Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Bond, Dr. M.C. Tolbert and Dr. Steve Rowland officiating. Pallbearers will be Marus C. Taylor, Robert R. Lollar, Stephen L. Still, Andrew Z. Martin, Robert K. Allen and Michael E. Teets. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Creasman, Frank N. McGregor, Arnold Walker, Martha Hathorne, Edna Farmer, Bill & Peggy Pryor and Jacquelyn Wolfe.

Karen Bracey Fulton, 57, of Springfield, passed from this life on Wednesday August 21, 2019 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Sheridan, WY from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday August 29th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Terry Hunter, Charles Gregory, Bud Johnson, Roger Herndon, Kyle Herndon, and Coby Wilson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers with be the employees of Springfield Kroger. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Karen was born November 6, 1961 in Springfield. She was a graduate of Greenbrier High School Class of 1980. She has worked at the Springfield Kroger’s for 40 years and was presently an Accounting Clerk. Karen was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, and the UFCW Local for the past 40 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Karen’s three loves in life was going on motorcycle trips all over the country, spending time with her friends and family, and shopping.
Karen was preceded in death by her brother: Wayne Bracey. Betty Washington Robinson Wagner, age 89, of War, West Virginia, passed away in Hendersonville, Tennessee on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked for over 40 years in the banking industry in War, West Virginia. There she was an avid member of Calvary Baptist Church and was awarded the Distinguished West Virginian Award. In her later years she enjoyed Center Point Church and being a part of their Happy Hearts Group.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” H. Wagner; and son, A. Keith Wagner. She is survived by her grandson, Adam (Carmen) Wagner; a granddaughter, Afton Wagner; and daughter-in-law, Vickie Wagner.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 1pm until her Celebration of Life Service at 2pm at Center Point Church with Brother Mike Trotter officiating. Graveside service will take place on Friday, August 30, at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia at 11 am with Rev. J.C. Steele officiating. Serving as pall bearers are family and friends.

June 8, 1931 – August 22, 2019. Mary Clay Pitt, 88, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed away August 22nd, 2019. As a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt she will be missed greatly. Her love for her family was her passion. She hung many pictures of her family in her home. Mary’s love for family influenced her to research family history. Genealogy became more than a pastime.
A native of Logan County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Henry Wood. She was a former Wa’mart employee, a telephone operator, and a restaurant employee. She worked alongside her mother in the restaurant sharing their cooking and baking talents.
Originally from Advairville, KY, she also lived in Glasgow, KY where her mother was from, She moved to Louisville in 1952 and had a family. In 1973 she moved to Springfield, TN.
Her membership at Grace Baptist Church in Springfield, Tennessee brought her many enriching experiences not only through church but also through the bible studies, She had made a number of friends in church who kept in touch and had many wonderful visits at her home after she was no longer able to travel to church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pitt; her parents, Mary and Henry Wood; son, Tommy Jaggers; sister, Elizabeth Crabtree; brother, Felix Wood; and grandson, Michael St. Clair.
Survivors include a son, Leslie Jaggers; two daughters, Pam Billings (Ted) and Donna St Clair (Billy); grandchildren, Stephanie Elliott (Del); Crystal Cox (Shawn); and Marie Billings (Jeff Adams); great grandchildren, Evelyn, Katherine, and Nathan Elliott; Taylor Cox; nieces, Kaye Minchey; Beverly Neely (Allen Coulter); Barbara Wood; Debbie Wood; Mary Cook (John); and nephews, Jerry Wood (Suzy); Joe Wood.

Ronald “Ronnie” Hutchison, 68, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday August 18, 2019 at his home. Graveside services were conducted Thursday August 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tim Harris officiating. Friends and family served as pallbearers. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Ronnie was born January 2, 1951 in Springfield. He was a retired welder from Unarco. Ronnie loved fishing and working on cars. He had a great love for Camaro’s, especially his 1969 Camaro. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father: Henry Hutchison, his mother: Mary Lou Adams Matthews, his wife: Cheryl Brown Hutchison, by his brother: Eddie Hutchison, and by his step-father: John L. Matthews.
Ronnie is survived by his brothers: John Bailey Hutchison of Goodlettsville and Billy K. Hutchison of Springfield, by his sisters: B. Micki Hopkins of Springfield and Brenda Lou Pitts of Russellville, KY, and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Sandra Kay Stark Richards, 68, passed from this life on Saturday August 17, 2019 at her home. A Celebration of Life service was conducted Thursday August 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Denny Burchett officiating. The family received friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Sandra was born July 13, 1951 in Robertson County to the late Johnnie B. and Helen Mae Mazanac Stark. She was a graduate of the East Robertson High School Class of 1969. She was a Deputy Clerk with the Robertson County Clerk’s Office and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Sandra was a longtime member of the Eastern Star and she enjoyed cooking, traveling, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Eric Richards, and by her siblings: Joseph Stark, Jerry Stark, and Judith Ann Stark.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Tom Richards, of Cedar Hill with whom she would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary the 31st of August, by her daughter: Hanna Makay Richards of Cedar Hill, by her sons: David Cherry of Goodlettsville and Stan Cherry of Kingston Springs, by her daughter-in-law, Jessica Brooks Richards of Cedar Hill; by her brother and sister-in-law: Ernie and Judy Stark of Springfield, by her grandchildren: Connor Cathey, Collin Richards, Cooper Richards, and Cohen Richards, and by a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Mrs. Hearn was born May 30, 1945 in Nashville. She worked as a teacher’s aid for the Logan County School System. Mrs. Hearn loved her cats, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father: George M. Gill, by her mother: Martha Louise Finley McGreger, by her husbands: Kenneth Ray Thompson, Sr., and Louis Hoy Hearn, and by her son: Kenneth Ray Thompson, Jr.

William Donald Price, 80, of Adairville, KY, passed away on Saturday August 17, 2019 at his home.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday August 21st at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dakota Norris and Reverend Andy Ward officiating. Interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery in White House with Nick Price, Billy Price, Bill Crabtree, Allen Lancaster, Eric Suggs, and Grady Peay serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Brown, Kenneth McDuffee, Tom McDuffee, James Robert McAllister, and the Elders of Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The family received friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Price was born June 23, 1939 in Adairville, KY to the late William Henry and Lola Mae Brown Price. He was a retired Plant Manager for Auburn Hosiery Mill. Mr. Price was a member of Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder. He loved hunting and collecting arrowheads, playing golf, and gardening. He was a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. car racing fan, and was an avid fan of University of Kentucky Basketball. Mr. Price loved spending time with his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren.
Mr. Price is survived by his wife of 54 years: Linda McDuffee Price of Adairville, KY, by his sons and daughters-in-law: William Donald and Teresa Price, Jr., of Bowling Green, KY, John Lee and Karen Price of Springfield, by his brother and sister-in-law: Ronald Rhoads and Donna Price of Franklin, by his grandchildren: Christian (Allen) Lancaster, Amanda (Bill) Crabtree, Nick (Daphne Whitley) Price, Melinda Price, Allison Price, and Billy Price, and by 7 great grandchildren.

He was born March 22, 1931 in Jellico, TN to Bessie Bean. He was self-employed in the hotel and food industry before his retirement and he proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of White House Masonic Lodge#700 and White House First United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Bean; brother, Dan Bean.

Edward “Ray” Hester, age 81, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 25, 2019 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Keith Howell and Brother Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tony Lance, Brian Lance, Chris Hornbuckle, Wade Lance, Dalton Lance and Edwin Lance serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Phillip Lance, Heath Hornbuckle and Levi Hornbuckle.

Mr. Hester was born December 13, 1937 in Stewart County, TN to the late James Monroe and Mollie Glisson Hester. He worked as a gravel truck driver for Porter Brown Limestone Company and Hollingsworth Oil Haulers (HOH) until his retirement and was a member of the Coopertown Church of Christ. He loved to watch his grandkids play baseball and loved to mow. Mr. Hester was happy as long as he was on a tractor or in a truck.
Mr. Hester is survived by his wife of 46 years, Maxine Smith Hester; daughter, Leah (Chris) Hornbuckle of Springfield; sons, Tony Lance of Springfield, Brian (Wanda Kay) Lance of Springfield and Phillip Lance of Lewisburg; brother, Jimmy (Kay) Hester of Bartlett, TN; sisters, Cornelia Laney of Pleasant View and Joyce (Eddie Ray) Walker of Pleasant View; grandchildren, Edwin (Kristal) Lance, Savanna (Travis) Pitt, Wade Lance, Dalton Lance, Heath Hornbuckle and Levi Hornbuckle; and great-grandchildren, Graci Lance, Ethan Lance, Jace Lance and Paisley Lance.

Mrs. Delgado de Rios was born on October 5, 1930 in Caracas, Venezuela to the late Pedro and Lola Gonzalez Delgado. She was a homemaker and she was a great swimmer. She also won many awards as a dancer and was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Captain Gilberto Rios; and a brother, Antonio Delgado.
She is survived by sons, Gilberto (Elisabeth) Rios and Jonathan (Rivka) Rios; daughters, Frances Valdes and Valentina (Mike) Ramey; brother, Pedro (Berta) Delgado; sister, Lolin Delgado de Reyes; thirteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Vance Overton of Hendersonville, Tennessee went to be with his Lord on August 17, 2019 at age 96.
He is predeceased by his parents, Russell “Russ” and Emma Overton; one brother, Elder William Overton; and four sisters Selma Roberson, Edine Robertson, Annie D Benson and Frances Coaplen. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Minnie Rice Overton; and nieces, Clarice Coaplen Rosinger of Columbia, SC, Patricia Cooper, Phyllis Ferrell, Rebecca Rice, Suzanne Rice, and Karen Rice; and nephews George Kemp, Jr., Kevin Rice, Jerry Rice, Harold Rice and Robert Rice.
Mr. Overton was a member of McFarren Missionary Baptist Church, served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, was Past Master of Goodlettsville Masonic Lodge #271 performing Masonic Services for 35 years. He was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner and a member of the Director’s Staff of Al Menah Temple. After he retired from Nashville Machine Company, he transported children to the Shrine Hospital for 15 years.
Funeral Services were conducted by Brother Johnny Carver at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville, including Masonic Rites. Visitation was held 1 hour prior to the service starting at 12 p.m. and private burial will follow.
