Born on June 27, 1953. Departed on December 19, 2018 and resided in White House, TN.

Eddie Michael Lane, December 19, 2018, age 65 of White House.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lane, and brother, Ray Shelton Lane. Survived by his mother, Elizabeth Lane; son, Jeff Lane, and daughter Crystal (Joe) Reddick; brother, Terry Lynn Lane; grandchildren, Luke and Ella Reddick, and other extended family and friends.

To know Eddie was to love him. A celebration of life will be at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home White House Sunday December 23 at 2pm with visitation from 1pm until service time.

Obituary for Joyce Ann Henderson Krisle

Joyce Ann Henderson KrisleJoyce Ann (Henderson) Krisle, age 77, joined her beloved husband,  Jimmy, and daughter, Angela, in heaven on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, while surrounded by loved ones. She was born June 4, 1941 in Springfield, TN to Edmund and Rachel (Hinkle) Henderson, and was the oldest of four children.

Joyce was a very active member of North Springfield Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, leader of the nominating committee, and as a member of the Women at Missions and ladies ministry groups.

She worked as the payroll director at Hardaway Construction for over 20 years before her retirement.

Joyce’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, and sharing meals with those in need. She was an avid reader who passed her love of books to her family. Her mission in life, and last expressed wish, was for others to know and love Christ.

She is preceded in death by: her father and mother, Edmund and Rachel Henderson, her oldest daughter, Angela (Brown) Thomas, and her husband, Jimmy Ray Krisle. Left to honor and remember her are: her daughter, Debbie (Frank) Edens; three grandchildren, Joshua (Amy) Wilkins, Amanda Edens, and Christina Edens; two great-grandchildren, Annie Reed Wilkins and Grant Wilkins; brother, David (Brenda) Henderson; sisters, Betty (Vestel) Harris and Beverly (Paul Lawnduski; special cousin, Janet Wessom; and many nieces and nephews.

floral squareA celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at North Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Smith and Bro. Bob Filson officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday at Robertson County Funeral Home from 3 until 7 PM and Saturday at North Springfield Baptist Church from 9:30 AM until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Springfield Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Friday from 3 PM until the hour of service.

Mr. Milam was born October 21, 1959 in Crawford County, IL to the late Elmer James and Shirley Marie Huskey Milam, Jr. He retired from Electrolux in 2015 after 37 years of service. His favorite pastime was fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer Milam, III, John Milam, and Kenneth Milam, and sisters, Pamela Jones and Tina Milam.

floral squareHe is survived by his wife, Vivian Milam of Springfield; son Matthew Milam and fiancée, Amanda Meeks of Gallatin; daughter, Tiffany Murray and husband Sydney Murray III of Knoxville; brothers, James Milam of Cynthiana, KY, Richard Joseph Milam of Springfield, and David Mendenhall of Springfield; and sister, Gina Richards of Clarksville.

Jesse Ernest CarrollJesse Ernest Carroll, 77, of Greenbrier, passed from this life into the presence of his Lord on Sunday December 23, 2018 at Skyline Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday December 29th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Gagliano officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Carroll was born October 18, 1941 in Springfield to the late Allie and Ruth Brown Carroll. He was retired from General Motors, where he worked in Assembly. Mr. Carroll was a member of South Haven Baptist Church. He loved fishing, gardening, coin collecting, and NASCAR with Chase Elliott being his favorite driver. Mr. Carroll loved the Lord, and he never left his home each day without first listening to the J. Vernon McGee broadcast.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Heather Carroll, and by his brothers: Ralph and Billy

Emma Jean Pinson PittEmma Jean Pinson Pitt, age 81 of Hendersonville, died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at McKendree Village Healthcare in Hermitage.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Heflin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Bobby Holbrook, David Holbrook, Jimmy Holbrook, Tommy Pinson, and Mike Hendley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddy Pinson and Larry Pinson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 3 until 7 PM and Saturday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Pitt was born April 25, 1937 in Robertson County to the late David Thomas “D.T.” and Margaret Wright Pinson. She was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years, and was a homemaker. In her earlier years, she worked as a secretary with WSM radio and the Boy Scouts. She loved gardening and had flowers blooming all throughout the year. floral squareShe also enjoyed cooking and sewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon King Pitt, Jr., who died November 1, 2018.

She is survived by her son, Jonathan Pitt of Warner Robbins, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Tim Todd of Hermitage; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Ann Pinson of Springfield; and sister, Peggy Holbrook of Murfreesboro.

Obituary for J.W. Chester

J.W. ChesterJames William “J.W.” Chester, 92, of Greenbrier, passed away on Saturday December 22, 2018 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday December 26th at 1:00 p.m. in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Reverend Mike Cummings officiating. The Senior Men’s Sunday School class at Bethlehem Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

floral squareMr. Chester was born March 23, 1926 in Stewart County to the late Daryl G. and Blanche Richards Chester, Sr. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Chester retired from Genesco, and then went on to work for 25 years at the Springfield Kroger. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Mac A. Chester, Daryl G. Chester, Jr., Martha Chester Baxendale, and Mary A. Chester. Mr. Chester is survived by his sister: Clara Chester Martin of Nashville, and by several cousins.

Obituary for Judy Fuqua

Judy FuquaWe celebrate the life and acknowledge the passing of Judith (Judy) Rene Foster Fuqua. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 19, 2018. She was born to Earl and Polly Foster on April 16,1942 in Detroit, MI. She married Jerry Powell Fuqua on July 14, 1961 and was a long-time resident of the Ashburn community of Springfield. She was a retired bookkeeper. Judy was a dedicated and faithful member of South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield and her life exemplified – even in her suffering – the love of Christ to all with whom she came in contact.

Survivors and loved ones include: Her husband, Jerry Fuqua; daughter and son-in-law Jana and Mike Klefeker; son and daughter-in-law Jason and Kerry Fuqua; son Jamie Fuqua; daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Sean Bardo; grandchildren Jordan and Alden Klefeker, Lindsey (Klefeker) and Cole Novak, Jansen and Olivia Klefeker, Jeremy and Katy Klefeker, Morgan Klefeker, Jared and Amanda Fuqua, Alexis Maroul and Hunter Burch, Kirsen Fuqua, Aaron Fuqua, Meagan (Fuqua) and Michael Saeger, Hunter and Taylor Fuqua, Ukiah Fuqua, Bryant Given, Landry Given, Lucas Bardo; great grandchildren Nolan, Amos, and Kohen Novak, Clayton Burch; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lissa and Leslie Hancock, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives.

The family received friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the South Haven Baptist Church.

Michael Joseph Ellis Sr.Michael Joseph Ellis, Sr., age 72, of Cedar Hill, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 1pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Andy Bulso officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Cemetery with John Hopper, Chip Reid, Troy Jackson, Clay Dew, Michael Dew and Brian Dew serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Douglas friends.

Visitation with the family will be at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 4pm-8pm with Rosary at 7:30pm and again on Thursday from 11am-12:30pm.

Mr. Ellis was born September 5, 1946 in Clarksville, TN to the late Kenneth Hamilton and Catherine Byrne Ellis. He was a 1964 graduate of Coopertown High School, worked for the Social Security Administration and after his retirement he farmed. Mr. Ellis was on the Robertson County School Board, was a County Commissioner and was a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cherry Ellis; sons, Michael Joseph and Nicole Ellis, Jr. of Cedar Hill, Matthew Jarrod Ellis of Clarksville, and Scott W. and Jennifer M. Page of Springfield; and, 2 grandchildren, Catherine Olivia Ellis and Weston Paul Page.

Clay was born June 20, 1994 in Nashville, TN to Frank and Cheryl Shelton Iaquinta. He is also survived by grandparents, Terry and Patty Shelton with many, many other friends and family members that loved him with all their heart, too many to number.

Clay will be greatly missed by all and his passion for life and music will never die. He loved Jesus and is at peace now. We all know, we will see him again. Clay’s life theme was: “Friend of Love, any friend of love, is a friend of mine.”

The family received friends 10am to 12pm on Monday, December 24th at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier with funeral service following at 12 pm.

Priscilla was born in Nashville, TN on April 28, 1940 to the late Leland and Louise Butner Dye. She was also preceded in death by husband, George Wayne Knight and brother, David E. Dye.

She attended the Church of God of Prophecy and was a retired Lock Master with the Army Corp of Engineer after 25 years of service.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 12Noon in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Larry Mulberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with the Members of the Coopertown Men’s Club serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 29th, from 10am until the hour of service at 12Noon.

Mr. Frey was born October 27, 1921 in Coopertown to the late John Martin and Carrie Justice Frey. He was a farmer, member of the Coopertown Men’s Club and member of the New Chapel United Methodist Church.

Obituary for Ludie Wallace

Ludie WallaceAfter an extended battle with Alzheimer’s, Ludie Cooksey Wallace passed away on December 19, 2018, in Chattanooga, TN. The daughter of Helen Rae and Andy Edward Cooksey, she was born November 11, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Elliott Wallace, brothers Earl Cooksey, Carter Cooksey, and Roger Cooksey (Dorothy). She is survived by her only daughter and Son-In-Law, Alexa and Jeff Lett, granddaughter Sadie, and brother Lucian Cooksey (Theresa).

Mrs. Wallace lived in Cedar Hill, TN, most of her life and was an active member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served as organist for many years. She was also an active long-time member of Tennessee Farm Bureau Women.

The service will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, Tennessee, December 28, 2018. Friends and family will be received at 10am with a service to follow in the chapel at Noon with Dr. Eric Taylor. Entombment will be a private family service.
