Obituary for Steve Gainous
Steve Gainous, 60, of the Barren Plains community in Springfield, passed away on Wednesday February 27, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Allen Woodard officiating. Interment will follow in the Gainous Cemetery on Dot Road in Adairville, KY, with Dalton Gainous, Ivan Gainous, Jeremy Gainous, Preston Gibson, Trystan Gibson, Zeke Gainous, Scott Gainous, and Terry Wayne Creek serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Lee Creek, John White, Charles Atchley, and Earl Fuqua. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Steve was born December 9, 1958 in Springfield. He was a graduate of Adairville High School Class of 1976 and was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church. He worked for fifteen years at Unarco in Springfield and was a lifetime farmer. Steve loved to fish, hunt arrowheads, and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his family. He was preceded in death by his grandchild: Avery 
Brooke Gainous, and by his son-in-law: James Earl Gibson. Steve is survived by his wife: Brenda White Gainous, his children: Corissa Gainous Gibson, Jeremy (Lindsay) Gainous, Ivan (Abbi Graves) Gainous, and Dalton (Kamala) Gainous all of Springfield, his parents: Glenn Price and Murlene Hester Gainous of Adairville, KY, his brother: Scott Gainous of Adairville, KY, his grandchildren: Preston Gibson, Trystan Gibson, Brennlee Gibson, Addyson Gainous, Anyston Gainous, Hailey Gainous, Charlotte Gainous, and Dawson Gainous, and by two that loved him as a grandfather: Bentley and Makinsey.

Obituary for Sherry Elaine Cannady Henderson
Sherry Elaine Cannady Henderson, 67, passed away on Sunday February 24, 2019 at NHC Place at The Trace in Nashville.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday February 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Eric Taylor, Reverend Bobby Swift, and Pastor Brad Shockley officiating. Interment followed in the Springhill Cemetery in Ridgetop with Steve Henderson, Bailey Henderson, Victoria Henderson, Wayne Kidd, Mark Henderson, and Steve Perry serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Eric Thomas and Jimmy Crawford’s Sunday School Class. The family received friends on Tuesday in the old sanctuary of Cedar Hill Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the Family Life Center at Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Henderson was born December 26, 1951 in Nashville to the late Ellis and Effie Tate Cannady. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. The three things in life that brought her the most joy were her cats, her church, and spending time with her family. At a very young age, Ms. Henderson became quadriplegic from spinal cord injury. In the years that followed, she became an outspoken advocate for the accessibility to public buildings. Mrs. Henderson was instrumental in gaining wheelchair access to all floors of the Robertson County Court House through the addition of an elevator. She also spoke out in support of The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
Ms. Henderson’s courage in the face of adversity and steadfast faith in Jesus Christ throughout her life remains a testament of her remarkable faith and tenacity to all who met her. She is survived by her husband of 48 years: Phillip Henderson of Springfield, her son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Donna Henderson of Portland, her grandchildren: Victoria and Bailey Henderson, her brother: Tom Cannady of Nashville, her sisters: Diann Cannady of Goodlettsville and Tina Alexander of Arkansas, and by her pride and joy, her cats, Chester and Daisy.

Obituary for Harriet Corbitt Dorris
Harriet Corbitt Dorris, age 93 of Springfield, died Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Waters of Robertson.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 2:00 in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Woodard and Bro. Joe Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Lee Swearingen, Philip Dorris, Corbitt Dorris, Brent Dorris, Jeremey Justice, Terry Michael Creasey, and Scotty Gillentine serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 10- AM until the hour of service.
Mrs. Dorris was born August 6, 1925 in Davidson County to the late Thomas Buford and Mary Bradley Corbitt, Sr. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and had worked at Nasco in Springfield as a secretary. Her greatest joy was her family whom she loved and cared for dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed keeping her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she always knew what was going on in the lives of her family. She also enjoyed going to Bill Gaither concerts and quartet conventions with her husband and also playing gospel hymns on the piano and organ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce M. Dorris; a son, Terry Lynn Dorris; a grandson, Stephen Bruce Dorris, II; and her brother, Thomas Buford Corbitt, Jr.
She is survived by her son Stephen Bruce Dorris, Sr. and wife Carolyn of Nicholasville, KY; daughters, Pamela Swearingen and husband Jody and Denise Dorris, both of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Cissy Midgett and husband Al of Lebanon; grandchildren Terri Ann Swearingen, Lee (Ashlee) Swearingen Traci Swearingen (Jeremey) Justice, Tera (Scotty) Gillentine, Brent (Amy) Dorris, Philip B. Dorris (Megan Stark), Maribeth Dorris, and Terry Corbitt Dorris; great grandchildren, Taylor Paige Swearingen, Chloee Swearingen, Cline Swearingen, Terry Michael (Maura) Creasey, Sera Pulley, Aubrey Dorris, Kaylee Dorris, Sloan Dorris, Journey Dorris, and Corah Dorris; and nieces, Barbara Corbitt and Linda Jenkins, both of Nashville.

Obituary for Charles John Brocco
Charles John Brocco—husband, father, brother, and friend died February 4th, 2019 in Hendersonville, TN.
Charlie was born in Kingston, NY to Charles and Angela (Perry) Brocco on March 1, 1954. Charlie graduated from Siena College in 1976 with a Bachelor of Finance.
On September 5, 1982, he married Lisa Fischer and together they have two sons. Charlie and Lisa moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a recording engineer at Village Recorder studio. In 1998, the Brocco’s, with their two young sons, relocated to Hendersonville TN and Charlie started engineering at East Iris Recording Studio. Charlie lent his talents to many studio’s and artists throughout his career including Barenaked Ladies, Patti Griffin, Randy Houser, Will Hoge and many more. In 2014, he won a Grammy for his work on Kacey Musgraves’ “Same Trailer Different Park”.
Charlie instilled his love and knowledge of music, humility, kindness, and easy going demeaner in his children. He recently enjoyed reconnecting with his college classmates and collaborating with his son, a teacher, on an educational musical history album. Charlie’s interests included boating, listening to music, beach trips, reading, and above all spending time with his family and friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; Lisa Brocco; their children, Jonathan and Cameron Brocco; and his sister, Mary Ann Hoskins.
A celebration of life will be held at the Winery at Fontanel at 3:30pm on Saturday, March 2nd.

Obituary for Greg English
Gregory “Greg” Neil English, age 70, of Chapmansboro, Tennessee, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
No services are planned at this time.
Mr. English was born on October 16, 1948 in Clinton, Indiana to the late James and Betty Dunn English. He was retired from AT&T and was a veteran in the U.S. Marine Corps having served in the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Mary English; daughter, Michelle English; sons, James (Christie) English, Ray (Torrie) Thomas, Ryan (Mandy) Thomas, and Leon Mraz.; sister, Debbie (Kenny) Maldin, and fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Retha “Kay” Threet, age 70, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
Mrs. Threet was born on June 5, 1948 in Nashville, Tennessee to Modene Mayo Gibson and the late Robert Binkley. She was a retired real estate agent.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, David Threet; sons, John Robert “Bob” (Lisa) Taylor and Charles (Denise) Threet; brother, Jerry (Sherrie) Binkley; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Evelyn Juanita Rediker
Age 71 of Orlinda passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at her home. She was born October 2, 1947 in Springfield, TN to Russell and Mildred Douglas.
She worked as a homemaker. She loved being outdoors, especially planting flowers and working in the tobacco fields. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is credited with helping to raise 16 children. She enjoyed watching Walker Texas Ranger and Ghost Adventures.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Douglas, Jerry Douglas and Donnie Douglas; sister, Elizabeth Douglas. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John Rediker; son, Robert Rediker; daughter, Tina (Ryan) Martin, all of Orlinda, TN; brother, Robert Douglas, Springfield, TN; sisters, Mary (Jimmy) Mayo, Mt. Juliet, TN, Mary Ann (Chris) Adcock, Springfield, TN and Cheryl (Jimmy) Offitt, Cross Plains, TN; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, March 1, 2019 at 7pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Doug Spain officiating. Visitation is planned Friday, March 1, 2019 4-7pm at the funeral home.

Angel Dean Burke, age 29, of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville.
Funeral services were held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 6:00 PM with Bro. Don Dungan officiating. His remains were cremated following the service.

Angel was born on May 29, 1989 in Montgomery, Alabama to Dimas Mercado and Margaret Burke Shye. He was a construction worker and was a Christian.

Mrs. Blades was born on July 8, 1940 in West Frankfort, Illinois to the late Jack S. and Reba Harper Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of Heads Freewill Baptist Church.
