Nicholl “Nikkie” Marie Bilby, age 35 of Ft.Gordon, Georgia died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Advent Health in Tampa, Florida.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00PM on Sunday, January 19th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Randy Riggs officiating. Burial will follow at EverRest of Cheatham with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 10AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.

Nikkie was born on January 9, 1984 in Warren, Michigan to Leslie Bauslaugh Campbell and the late Jerry Spears. She was self-employed and enjoyed making crafts.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Emiley Bilby; and grandmother, Linda White.

Obituary for James Allen “Butch” Cox

“Butch”-Age 61 of Goodlettsville passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Centennial Medical Center. He was Born December 12, 1958 to Delbert E. & Kathleen Ann Buttery Cox. He worked as a self-employed brick and block mason before becoming disabled. He was a hard working man and an avid Tennessee Vols and Titans fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Delores Dixon, Goodlettsville, TN; daughters, Tonya (Chad) Long, Portland, TN and Stephanie Gower, Goodlettsville, TN; sister, Suzanne, FL; 6 grandchildren.

Obituary for Jordan Carr

On Sunday, January 12, 2020, Jordan Carr, beloved son and brother, passed away at the age 29.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jordan was born on November 10, 1990 in Nashville, TN and was a lifelong area resident. He will be remembered for his big heart that was full of love for his family and best friend, Annie, and his smile that could light up a room.

Jordan was preceded in death by his grandfather Paul Branham and grandmothers Rentha Ann Carr and Dorothy Diane Lawler. Obituary for Mrs. Milma Pearl Schleicher Kramer

Mrs. Milma Pearl Schleicher Kramer was born in Chaska, Minnesota to Arthur and Pearl Radtke Schleicher. She was baptized, confirmed and married in The Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.

Mrs. Kramer is survived by her husband, Edward; her daughters, Susan Reese and Sally Buck and son-in-law, Douglas Buck; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, June and Richard Wilbanks; and one nephew, Eric K. Kuehn.

She came to California in 1946. She and Edward were married on June 18, 1948. They moved to Tennessee in 2009 and became members at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at that time.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in White House, TN. Visitation with the family will begin on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 10:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at a later date in her final resting place at the Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.

Obituary for Jake Bradley Russell

Jake Bradley Russell, 34, of Springfield, passed away on Monday January 13, 2020 at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Memorial services will be conducted Monday January 20th at 12 noon in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Steve Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Jake was born February 1, 1985 in Nashville. He was a Mechanical Engineer for WG Yates Construction and was of the Baptist faith. Jake loved hunting, fishing, watching sports, especially baseball, riding his Harley, being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Billy Russell, Geneva Russell, Joe Fiser, and Dot Fiser, and by his step grandmother: Mildred Russell.

Obituary for Opal Rae VanArsdale

Opal Rae VanArsdale, age 89, gently passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 at The Waters of Robertson care facility in Springfield, Tennessee. Interment, with a graveside service in remembrance and celebration of her life, will be held for family and friends at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Traverse City, Michigan.

Mrs. VanArsdale was born November 30, 1930 in Traverse City, Michigan. She was the fifth of seven children of Clarence Edward Bracebridge and Lulu Rose (Cook) Bracebridge. She was the devoted wife of James Lowry VanArsdale, and together they made their home in Flint, Michigan, where they raised five brilliant children.
Mrs. VanArsdale was a graduate of Cedar Lake Academy and worked as a medical office manager for many years prior to retirement. She honored her God through worship in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She especially loved to add her voice to His glory through song, and performed for many years with the traditional gospel group, The Heraldettes. In her later years, she enjoyed volunteering her time to help students at the Maranatha Adventist School, and patients at the Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, four sisters, and a daughter-in-law. Mrs. VanArsdale is survived by her children and their spouses: Robert and Sharon VanArsdale of Shady Cove, Oregon; David and Julie VanArsdale of York, Pennsylvania; Donald and Lovel VanArsdale of Hendersonville, Tennessee; Danny VanArsdale and Corinne Ranzinger of Cedar Hill, Tennessee; and Patricia and Brook Powers of Agat, Guam; and by 13 wonderful grandchildren and 12 beautiful great-grandchildren.

Jean Hooper, age 77 of Cedar Hill, died Friday, January 10, 2020 at her home.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Carroll and Bob Adcox officiating. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery with Caleb Reeder, Seth Traughber, Dylan Carter, Dawson Carter, Cole Dean, and Johnny Hooper serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home Monday from 4 until 8 PM and Tuesday from 9 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Hooper was born January 13, 1942 in Robertson County to the late Herschel and Christine Biggs. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and was retired from Krogers where she worked in the meat department. She enjoyed music and art and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon Biggs, and a sister, Betty Sedar.

Obituary James “Jamie” Brian Darrow

James “Jamie” Brian Darrow, age 41 of Springfield, TN died Thursday January 9, 2020 at his home.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Tuesday January 14, 2020 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Frankie Gagliano officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Paul Darrow, Chris Walden, Timmy Groves and Ashley Eden serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 am till service time of 2 pm.

Jamie was born July 19, 1978 in Robertson Co., TN to the Willie A. Darrow Jr of Springfield and the late Barbara Grant Walden. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by his brother, Willie Alfred “Allen” Darrow III, grandfather, Willie Alfred Darrow Sr., and grandparents, Calvin and Shirley Grant. He was disabled due to seizures he struggled with from a childhood accident. His father said he loved to draw, doodle and piddle.

Obituary Eva Jean Hand

Eva Jean Hand, age 71 of Ashland City, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield.

Her remains are to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Mrs. Hand was born August 6, 1948 in Robertson County to the late Eloise Knight. She enjoyed making all kinds of crafts.

She is survived by her husband, Less Hand of Ashland City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Teddy and Pam Knight of Hendersonville and Larry and Joyce Knight of Greenbrier; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Tippy Shepard of Stroudsville and Debbie and Dennis Moon of Adams; sister-in-law, Sissy Bethel of Ashland City; a host of nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, Shooter.

Obituary For Kevin E. “Ketta” Gardner

Kevin “Kettua” Eugene Gardner, 40 went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2020, at Howard County General Hospital, Columbia, Maryland. Keven was born in Springfield, Tennessee (Robertson County) and raised in Adams, Tennessee. He was the only child born to Eugene and Robbie E. (Kendrick) Gardner on August 24, 1979.

In his younger years, he enjoyed going fishing with family members and playing basketball with friends. He loved eating cake so much he wouldn’t share it with anyone.

He gave his life to Christ at the tender age of five at St. James Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral care of Reverend G. W. Pettus. He was a child of God with an infectious spirit. He loved people and treated everybody fairly.

In 1998 graduated from Jo Byrns High School in Cedar Hill, Tennessee. He went on to attend Western Kentucky University (WKU) in Bowling Green, Kentucky and majored in Physical Education. While attending WKU, he became a member of the Epsilon Theta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and Teaching Certification in 2003.

While living and working in Atlanta, GA, Kevin met the love of his life, Quiyhatta S. (Brown) Gardner. They became members of First Baptist Church of Highland Park in July 2009. Kevin and Quiyatta were marred in holy matrimony on March 13, 2010, in Daytona Beach, Florida and two children were born from this union.
He was known to be a “Go Getter” working in the field of Information Technology holding multiple positions as a System’s Administrator for a contracting company as well as the Federal Government.

Kevin loved his family, the Eagles, his musical lyrics, and developed an incredible passion for children. He always greeted them by pinching their jaws. He also enjoyed cooking and eating good food, photography and videography. Kevin often captured valuable moments of his life with his family and friends. He was a self-taught Barber who enjoyed cutting his son’s hair and taking pictures of it every time.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irving and Elnora Kendrick and Lawson and Katie (Farmer) Gardner, and his cousin Steve Spencer.

Kevin leaves to cherish his loving memory: his wife, Quiyatta S. (Brown) Gardner; one daughter, Kayla Gardner; one son, Kevin Gardner, Jr.; parents Eugene and Robbie Gardner; mother-in-law and father-in-law; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends; also his beloved Line Brothers (Natures Nine Disasters) of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.

Obituary for Effie Lee Cherry

Effie Lee Cherry, age 80, of Hendersonville, TN passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 12, 2020.

Effie grew up in Jacksonville, North Carolina and attended East Carolina College where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. For most of her life, she was an active member in 4-H. It was actually at a 4-H Camp that she met Frank, who would become her husband. They started their family together with Tim on February 14, 1965. A year after they were married, Frank was in a life-threatening accident from which Effie spent the entire next year helping him recover while also working full time with the local Home Extension Office. Over the next few years, two daughters were born and made their family complete.

In 1975, the family moved to Pewee Valley, KY where they built a home on 16½ acres and raised their girls there over the next 7 years. During that time, Effie worked as the Supervisor of Houseparents at Cedar Lake Lodge where she established life long connections and friendships with both the staff and residents.
The family relocated to Hendersonville in 1981. Once settled, she decided to pursue, and ultimately received, her Masters Degree in Psychology from Tennessee State University. She worked as a teacher of adult education in Sumner County for many years until she retired.

Effie had many passions in life, including her family, church, education and the Grand Old Opry. She was a 4-H Honor Club member and a proud 50 year member of the Eastern Star where she served as a Past Matron and was on the board of Rainbow Girls. She was recently recognized for her years of service in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a very active member of the Daughters of American Revolution, Jethro Sumner Chapter. She served as an Elder several times during her 40 years as a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Frank Lee Cherry, Jr.; her parents, Lemuel Gillette Aman, Sr. and Bernice Blanche Higgins; sisters Susan Caroline Aman and Sarah “Catherine” Aman; and brother Lemuel Gillette “Bud” Aman, Jr.

On Saturday, January 18, the family will receive friends from 12 Noon until her Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 1pm at First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville with Rev. Michael Davis officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children , National 4-H Council, First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville, or to Cedar Lake Home for the Disabled.

Obituary for George Moss

George Wendell “Buddy” Moss, age 82, of Adams, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 1pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Chris Camp officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 4-8pm and again on Wednesday from 11am until the hour of service at 1pm.

Mr. Moss was born February 10, 1937 in Stewart County, TN to the late Novis Lowell and Mary Burke Moss. He was a farmer, worked at Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 1990 and was a member of Olivet Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Moss was also the former owner of Moss’s Coach House.

In addition to his parents Mr. Moss is preceded in death by his sisters, Signora Moss and Geneva Vogle, and his brother, Wilson Moss.

Mr. Altfillisch was born on February 22, 1946 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of the late Luke and Mary Bennis Altfillisch. He was a self-employed business owner, and was of the Catholic faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.

Margaret Ann Henderson, age 87 of Guthrie, passed away on Tuesday, January 7th at her home of natural causes.

She was born January 11, 1932 in Stewart County, Tennessee the daughter of the late John E. and Idella Griffin Wetton.

She was a member of the Petrie Memorial UMC and the Todd County Homemakers. She loved her family, sewing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Wallace Henderson; two brothers Harold and Douglas Wetton and two sisters Opal Anthony and Dorothy Allen. She is survived by two daughters Debbie Crick of Guthrie and Mary Brown of Clarksville; a brother Bruce Wetton of Guthrie; a sister Alice Stamper of Springfield; four grandchildren Christina Lanier of Sevierville, Jenny Holt of Elkton, Cathy Ferrell of Hopkinsville, and Ada Brown of Ridgetop; eight great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.

Age 86 of White House passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at White House Health Care & Rehab. He was born December 23, 1933 in Nashville, TN to Pearl Thomas & Vera Agnes Bracey Baker. He worked as a self-employed painter before his retirement. He was always laughing and joking. Everyone who knew him considered him to be a very good man. He loved to eat and fellowship with his friends and family. He was a shriner and member of Northwood Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Maxine Pickle Baker; son, Ronald Lewis Baker; sister, Joyce; half-sister, Jewel; half-brother, Lawrence. He is survived by his son, Randy Lee (Teresa) Baker, Cottontown, TN; daughter, Patsy (Ronnie) Norris, White House, TN; brother, Johnny (Peggy) Baker, Centerville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Todd, Stacy, Jennifer and Samantha; 4 great-grandchildren, Dawson, Kaitlyn, Karter and Isabella; his cat, Callie.

Mrs. Sherry Eastep Wallace, age 83, of White House, TN, formerly of Chapel Hill, TN died Wednesday, January 8, 2020, in White House, TN. Mrs. Wallace was a native of Limestone County, AL, and was a daughter of the late William Jester and Laura Lee Carter Eastep. She was a homemaker and a member of White House Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Lola Taylor Eastep, brothers, Bobby, Kenneth, Lavone, and Larry Eastep, and by grandchildren, Andrew Hodges and Laura Hodges Sanders.

Mrs. Wallace is survived by her husband of 64 years, Mr. William (Bill) Venton Wallace of White House, TN; three daughters, Brenda Gardner of Goodlettsville, TN, Jo Wallace of White House, TN, Sandy Fletcher of White House, TN; five grandchildren, Brandon (Leslee) Kiser, Hubbell (Jay) Purvis, Ryan (Shannon) Fletcher, Shelly (Kevin) Breedlove and Josh (Meagan Smith) Fletcher; six great grandchildren, R.J., Luke and J.J. Fletcher, Jaden Hodges, and Chase and Cheyenne King.

Visitation with the family was held Friday, January 10, 2020, from 5 PM until 7 PM at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, 533 Highway 76, White House, TN 37188. Funeral services were conducted from the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home, White House on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11 AM with Matt Shouse officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. The graveside service followed at 2 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN. Interment followed in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.

Obituary for Harry Robert Feeney

Harry Robert Feeney, 93, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday January 4, 2020 at The Residence at Alive Hospice.

A private graveside service was conducted in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with Tim Harris officiating. Pallbearers were be Harry R. Feeney, Sean Feeney, Michael Franklin, Frank Wells, Kelton Wells, Shane Franklin.  Visitation with the family was held on Thursday January 9th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Mr. Feeney was born June 29, 1926 in Orange, NJ to the late Harry Raymond and Catherine Belle Cody Feeney. He was a retired Transportation Engineer with Steiner Lift and was of the Catholic faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Feeney enjoyed working and building model trains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Kathryn Ann Vietor Feeney, and by his brother: Raymond Eugene Feeney.

Gladys Elizabeth Gibson, 87, of Hermitage, passed away on Friday January 3, 2020 at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday January 8th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Smith officiating. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Mark Patterson, Joey Patterson, Harvey Richardson, Johnny Williams, Danny Morris, Jerry Head, and Tommy Head serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gibson was born February 21, 1932 in Springfield to the late Luster Melvin and Katie Reynolds Ledbetter. She was a retired Chef and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Gibson enjoyed cooking, shopping, dancing, fishing, and watching wrestling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Jerry Lee Head.

In Loving Memory Tamara Nakesha Trotter

Gone way too soon, but God had a greater plan for our loved one. Our beloved Tamara Nakesha Trotter was called Home to Eternal Rest on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the tender age of 40. She was born in Springfield, Tennessee on July 19, 1979 to the union of Bobby and Ruth Trotter, both of Springfield, Tennessee.

Tamara, was christened in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost as a child and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior.

Tamara is preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Thompson whom she loved dearly; grandparents Hulon and Mary Brown, Raymond Trotter Jr.; uncles, Howard Brown and Robert Lawrence Brown; god-parent, Jerry Dunn.

Tamara graduated from Springfield High School, Class of 1997 and attended Nashville College of Medical Careers.

On April 8, 1998, Tamara gave birth to her first child a son, Cameron Diaz Trotter and then on November 2, 1999 to Alexandria NaKole Trotter, these two were the loves of her life.

Tamara had love for her St. John UMC Church Family where she sung in the choir since she was a small child until her departure. Tamara loved people and especially her friends, she always tried to see the good in people and never met a stranger even as a child. She loved her nephews like her own as well as her children’s friends.

Tamara will be greatly missed by not only her children, parents, sisters, nephews and friends near and far, but also her uncles, aunts, cousins and the entire community. She touched so many people’s lives in a way that will live on forever in our hearts and souls. One of her favorite songs was “I Love the Lord” by Whitney Houston which she sang at Christmas time.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Cameron; daughter, Alexandria; father, Bobby Trotter; mother, Ruth Trotter; sister, Tasha Trotter-Cook all of Springfield, TN.; Grandmother, Mary Washington Trotter of Springfield, TN. William Michael Brown, 72, of Adairville, KY, passed from this life on Thursday January 2, 2020 at Skyline Medical Center.

Funeral services were conducted Monday January 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Living Word Church in Adairville with Pastor Phil Scott officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville. The family will receive friends at Living Word Church on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Brown was born March 6, 1947 in Adairville, KY to the late Ray and Evelyn Parsons Brown. He was a Cosmetologist and a member of Living Word Church. Mr. Brown loved gardening, carpentry, and playing the piano. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Wayne Brown.

Obituary Nancy Ann Johnson

Nancy Ann Johnson, 90, of Springfield, TN, wife of the late Robert Johnson Sr of Hohenwald, TN, passed away Jan 1, 2020 at the White House Healthcare Center. Born in Kokomo, IN, on December 28, 1929, to Walter and Henrietta Lobeck, she grew up in Washington, IN – the daughter of a Lutheran minister. It was in Washington that she would meet and marry Bob in 1950 following his military service during WWII. With Nancy at his side, he pursued industrial engineering and management positions in Indiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Nancy happily dedicated her whole life to her husband, family, and friends. She was active in the community through church, school, and clubs. She was a member of Hohenwald United Methodist Church. She was highly regarded as a congenial and gracious hostess who loved entertaining and had a true talent for down-home cooking that began with her German roots. Nancy learned to enjoy the game of golf from Bob and she eventually matched his hole-in-one with one of her own!

Known as Nano to her grandchildren, she delighted each of them with songs, games, and homemade goodies. From her they learned about faith and love. Nano celebrated her 90th birthday in November with four generations of family! Her sparkling green eyes and radiant smile could not be suppressed by the hands of time.

In addition to her husband Bob, Nancy was predeceased by her brothers Melvin, Walter Jr, and Arthur; sisters Janie and Patsy; and great-granddaughter Mary. Nancy is survived by sons Robert Johnson Jr and wife Michelle of Springfield, TN; Stephen Johnson and wife Kate of Killeen, TX; Lawrence Johnson and wife Rhonda of Seymour, TN; 7 grandchildren, Amy Caruthers of Springfield, TN; Andrew Johnson of Kingwood, TX; Abby Parks of White House, TN; Adam Johnson of Waco, TX; Andolyn Galea of Sparks, NV; Samuel Johnson of Fayetteville, NC; Joseph Johnson of Grand Prairie, TX; 10 great-grandchildren Connor, Cason, Melanie, Frances, Millie Ann, Bridget, Andrew Jr, Alley, William, and Bethany; and brother John of Washington, IN.

Joan Brown Gower, age 82 of Cedar Hill, Tennessee, died Monday, January 6, 2020 at Hillcrest Healthcare in Ashland City, TN.

Graveside services were conducted at EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View on Sunday, January 12th, at 2:00PM with Bro. Billy Ellis officiating. Dana Elliott, Joel Brown, James Neely, Joshua Bean, Joey Hyatt, and Phillip Morgan served as pallbearers. Gary Bean, Johnny Hunter, and Jeffrey Neely served as honorary pallbearers.

The family received friends at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View from 4-8:00PM Saturday, January 11th. There was no visitation on Sunday prior to the graveside service.

Mrs. Gower was born on February 10, 1937 in Auburndale, Florida to the late Fredrick and Mary Elizabeth Brown. She was retired from the State of Tennessee and was a member of Heads Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Gower; and brothers Houston, Sonny, Gary, Pete, and Michael Brown.

Survivors include her sons, James Thomas, Jr. “J.T.” Gower, Del Gower; daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” Hunter, Elly Moffet, Karen Schmaing, and Nora (Gary) Bean; sister, Jeanette Sullivan; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

Joann Davis Larkin, age 90, of Greenbrier passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Stone Ridge Healthcare in Ridgetop, TN.

The funeral service was held at 1pm on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier with Bro. Jack Martin officiating. The family received friends 11am until time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial followed in the Grubbs family cemetery.

She was born in McEwen, TN on February 12, 1929 to the late Robert Clinton and Odie B. Pickard Davis. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James Howard “Mutt” Larkin; brothers, Bob Davis, Bill Davis, Max Davis and sister Jeanette Austin.

She was a member of the Green Ridge Church Christ. She worked as a Secretary at Genesco and was a representative for Napier Jewelry. She was also a stay-at-home mom and loved gardening, working outdoors and cooking. She was an amazing seamstress and was always busy working in her church Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and church camp.

She is survived by son, James “Jim” Larkin of SC; daughter, Carol (Murry) Grubbs of Greenbrier; sister, Beth Burgess of Nashville; grandchildren, Mary Ann (Grady) Lankford, Don Murry Grubbs III, Robert Clinton “Clint” (Jordan) Grubbs; great-grandchildren, Jack and Madison.
