Obituary for Charles Guy Penn

Charles Penny, IIICharles Guy Penny, III, of Springfield, TN, formerly of Shreveport, LA, died Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

Charles was born February 12, 1936, in Steele, MO, and grew up in Memphis. He attended Harding in Searcy, AR, and Centenary College in Shreveport, LA, and served in the Navy from 1956-1960. Married to Carolyn Hutt Penny in 1957, the couple settled in Shreveport and raised their two children. Charles was blessed to have a career he loved, flying King Air 200 and Falcon 50 jets throughout the US, Mexico, and Canada. He was a pilot for Murco Oil & Gas, Western Company, and golfer, Hal Sutton. His favorite destination was Missoula, Montana, where he loved to hunt elk.

After retirement, Charles and Carolyn lived in Carolyn’s hometown of Fouke, AR, then relocated to Pleasant View, Tennessee, to be near grandchildren. As Charles’ health declined, he became a resident of Springfield Heights Assisted Living, where he spent 6 years with his “Springfield Heights” family. Charles welcomed new residents with his stories, singing, and domino games.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles G Penny, Jr. and Ava Ganell Weaver Erwin, his stepfather, Hugh Maitland Erwin, and his brother, Roy Wayne Penny.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Hutt Penny of Pleasant View, TN, brothers Mike Erwin (Ann) of Memphis, and Tom Penny (Tina), sister Susan Shaheen, children Lesa Penny Blackwell and husband, Tim, of Nashville, TN and Charles G Penny, IV and wife, Erin, of Pleasant View, TN. He is the grandfather of Scott, Ross, and Bennett Blackwell, and C.G., Elliott, and Eleanor Penny.

Throughout his long life, he enjoyed meeting people, telling stories of his travels, and listening to and playing music. He especially enjoyed hearing his grandchildren sing and play for him. Charles loved family time with his in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins, organizing Penny and Weaver reunions for several years.

The family would like to thank the staff of Springfield Heights who cared for Mr. Penny and became his adopted daughters.

On Sunday, October 13th, 2019, Charles’ ashes will be interred in Fouke Cemetery during a family graveside service. Later that day, his Celebration of Life will take place, at 1pm, at the Scoggins House in Fouke.

Obituary for Richard Allen “Ricky” Robertson

Richard Allen “Ricky” Robertson, age 60 of Springfield, TN died Saturday July 13, 2019 at North Crest Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 1 pm on Friday July 19, 2019 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Diane Coppock officiating. Burial followed in Palestine Cemetery with Jeremy Robertson, Tim Robertson, Ricky Clinard, Josh Hall, Tony Walton and Jeffrey Grayson serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 am until the hour of service at 1 pm.

Ricky was born November 7, 1958 in Robertson County, TN to the late Agnes Wilson and Joe Richard Robertson. He was a member of Palestine UMC, a veteran of the United States Army and was a carpenter, working for many years with Keith Circle Steel and then for himself.

floral squareSurviving him are his son, Jeremy Allen Robertson; grandchildren, Cameron and Courtneay Robertson. brother, Timothy B. Robertson and wife Sharon; sister, Rita Jo Robertson Hall and husband Lanny; mother of his son, Kathy Woods and brother-in-law, Ricky Clinard.

If do desired the family request that memorial donations may be made in Ricky’s memory to the Palestine Cemetery Fund. All donations may be sent care of the Robertson Co FH.

Obituary for Randy Gower

Randy GowerMr. Charles “Randy” Gower, age 60, of Cedar Hill, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at his home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Entombment will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 4-8pm and again on Monday from 10am until the hour of service at 11am.

Mr. Gower was born December 13, 1958 in Robertson County to the late Dewell and Emma Lou James Gower. He worked as a construction supervisor and was of the floral squareBaptist faith.

In addition to his parents Mr. Gower is preceded in death by his nephew, Brad Gower. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Graves Gower; sons, Chris (Tara) Brown of Greenbrier and Justin Gower of Cedar Hill; brother, Terry (Jean) Gower of Springfield; and grandchildren, Rebecca Brown, Katelyn Brown, Lyndsey Brown, Abigail Brown, Clayton Brown, Adan Rayburn, Mary Ann Gower and Cason Dean Gower.

Obituary for Raymond Heatherly

Raymond HeatherlyRaymond Henry Heatherly, age 77, of Cedar Hill, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at NorthCrest Medical Center.

A private family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Heatherly was born September 27, 1941 in Barren Plains, TN to the late James F. and Frances Hallman Heatherly. He worked as a truck driver and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved Coon hunting and his Coon dogs. He also loved sitting on the porch welcoming all who passed by.

Frankie MoultonBilly Franklin “Frankie” Moulton, age 66 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Monday, July 15, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services were held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View, Thursday, July 18th, at 1:00PM with Bro. Paul Edwards and Mickey Dyce officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant View United Methodist Church Cemetery with Jamie Moulton, JJ Moulton, Jesse Moulton, Blake Moulton, Richmond Flowers, and Seth Moulton serving as pallbearers. “Cowboy” Randy Minnick, Eddie Cathy, Felix Tejeda, Ronnie McCarry, Tony Jarman, R.D. Huffines, Roy Abner, and employees of the Cheatham County Property Assessors office served as honorary pallbearers.

The family received friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, July 17th from 4-8:00PM and again on Thursday from 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.

Frankie was born on September 28, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee to Willie Ann Vann Moulton and the late Joe Moulton. He retired from the Cheatham County Property Assessors office. He was an avid quail hunter and loved his champion bird dog. Frankie was known for his one-liners and was a member of the Pleasant View United Methodist Church.

Norma Jean was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was a talented musician who enjoyed playing the upright bass and drums. She was retired from Trickett Honda after 15 years of service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Annie Amos and brothers, Edmond Amos, Paul Amos and Bobby Amos. She is survived by her son, Grady (Kelly) McCormick; daughter, Patricia McCormick; brother, Billy Amos; sisters, Betty Amos, Sandra Kelly, Alice Schreiber; sister-in-law, Mona Amos; grandchildren, Shelby Kay McCormick, Lucas Grady McCormick, Maria Jeanette (Tyler) Duncan, Alexandria Mae Wright; and several nieces and nephews.

Karene was born on January 25, 1955 in Ashland City, Tennessee to Jimmy and Blanche Parsons Bracey. She was a homemaker, loved her grandchildren and loved being on Facebook. She was a member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church.

Phillip was a loving son, grandson, brother, cousin and nephew. He was an anointed minister, vocalist and guitar player who loved God and music with all of his heart. He also loved football and was a Florida Gators fan.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Williams and grandmother, Elizabeth “Nanny” Thaxton. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Cindy and Bobby Parrish; brothers, Davin Johnson and Brandon Parrish; sisters, Amber Parrish and Megan Parrish; grandfather, Rodger Thaxton; aunts, Rhonda (Larry) Scruggs and Tonya (Gary) Farmer; godchildren, McKenzie, Bubba and Maddie; many cousins; and his beloved church family at Hendersonville Pentecostal Church.
