Obituary for Robert Hoyt Hosford, Jr.

In loving Memory squareRobert Hoyt “Bob” Hosford, Jr., 58, of Cedar Hill, died Thursday July 21, 2016 at his home. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday July 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. There was no visitation prior to the graveside service.

Mr. Hosford was born August 20, 1957 in New Haven, CT to the late Robert Hoyt Hosford, Sr., and the late Eline Ruth Monyhan. Mr. Hosfords served the U.S. Air Force for eleven years and in the National Guard for ten years. He served during Desert Storm. He worked as a security guard at Governor’s Square Mall in Clarksville.

Obituary for James Earl Scharklet
James Earl Scharklet was born on August 21, 1958 in Portland, TN. He was born the oldest of six children. His loving parents: Marie and the late Robert Earl raised him to be kind, humble, to love life, and to love Christ. He accepted Christ at an early age at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He was a graduate of East Robertson High School in Cross Plains. During his junior year of high school, he found the love of his life. On June 22, 1985, James Earl united in holy matrimony to his high school sweetheart, Debra Burnice Smith. From this union came three children.

James Earl, or Daddy J as he was known by most friends, as well as others called him Daddy, Granddaddy, and BOSS was well known for his smile, his kind heart, his willingness to help a stranger or a friend, for collecting gadgets, knives, and lighters, for his old soul but new generation sway, and most of all for being the best granddaddy he could be.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Michael Landon and Charles Edward Scharklet. James Earl leaves to cherish his many memories a loving dedicated mother: Marie Scharklet of Cross Plains, a devoted wife: Debra Scharklet of Springfield, a son: Daniel Christopher (Jennifer) Scharklet of Portland, daughters: LaDedra Danielle Smith of Madison and LaKreshia DeShae (Michelle) Raymer of Springfield, brothers: Ricky Scharklet of Cross Plains, Donald (Michella) Scharklet of Porltand, and John (Carolyn) Scharklet of White House, sisters-in-law: Rose of Springfield and Audria (Anthony) of Orlinda, 5 beautiful grandchildren including Martavious “Tayda”, also known to him as his mini me, road dog, and his pride and joy. James Earl also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and so many friends.

floral squareA Celebration of Life for James Earl Scharklet will be conducted Thursday July 28th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Lawrence Coleman officiating and Reverend W.C. Dobbins as Eulogist. Interment will follow in Tom Smith Cemetery with John Scharklet, Ricky Scharklet, Donald Scharklet, Chris Scharklet, Mikal Scharklet, Jimmy Dowlen, Kyle Hobdy, and Dustin Ledding serving as pallbearers. Flower Bearers will be Ashley Hernandez, Cassandra Crocket, Jamaica Cone, LaBria White, Shatoya Hugo, Jessica Kempt, Jennifer Scharklet, and Rose Smith. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the Robertson County Funeral Home

Delores was born in Big Sandy, TN on July 8, 1939 to the late Robert and Mary Warmack Hollingsworth. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Glenn Hollingsworth, R.G. Hollingsworth, Jerry Hollingsworth; grandsons, Brandon Campbell and Justin Roberts.

She was retired from SunTrust Bank where she was a Loan Officer. She was a Christian who loved the Lord and walked by faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She graduated from Big Sandy High School class of 1957 and was named Miss BSHS of 1957. She was the star Basketball player who singlehandedly led her team to multiple victories.

(Tina) Spain; daughters, Sherri (Steve) Merryman, Paula (Randy) Campbell, Diane (Clint) Roberts; grandchildren, Lauren (Joel) Evrist, Brittany (Corey) Edmonson, Chelsey Henderson, Brianna Campbell, Brayden Campbell, Michael B. Clark, Thomas J. Clark; great-grandchildren, Zoe Evrist and Asher Evrist. Pallbearers will be Steve Merryman, Clint Roberts, Randy Campbell, Brayden Campbell, Joel Evrist, Corey Edmonson and Robert Hollingsworth. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 2-8pm and again on Sunday from 12 Noon until the hour of service.

Mr. Norman was born September 19, 1963 in Springfield to the late Jesse and Ruthie Castelow Norman Heatherly. He worked as a mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents Mr. Norman is preceded in death by his brothers, Jackie Castelow and Jesse Barry Norman. He is survived by his brothers, David Lewis (Debbie) Norman of Clarksville and Jeffrey Dell Norman of Westmoreland; and floral squaresisters, Mary Susan Mooneyhan of Guthrie, Betty Siebert of Hendersonville, Tina Jones of Nashville and Samantha (Michael) Carter of Lavergne.

Visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 4-8pm and again on Saturday from 10am until the hour of service.

Mrs. Jackson was born November 14, 1942 in Robertson County to the late Raymond and Georgia Plunkett Stroud. She worked in the office at the Trane Company and was a member of the Little Hope Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by her sister, Margie Douglas. She is survived by her husband, Charles Jackson; sons, Craig (Angela) Jackson of Murfreesboro and Steven Jackson of Clarksville; daughter, Sheila floral square(Robert) Groth of Springfield; sister-in-law, Gale Jackson of Lexington, NC; grandchildren, Jonathan Groth and Meridian Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Groth, Natalie Groth, Abby Groth, Ayva Groth, Lana Groth and Kayleigh Groth.

Gina was born in Goodlettsville, TN on November 15, 1961 to Carl Sloan and the late Mary Ann Clifton. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and GiGi.
She is survived by her father, Carl (Sandra) Sloan; children, Geoffrey (Ashley) Updike, Erin (Chase) Jenkins, Carrie Updike, Michael Updike; brother, Geoff (Gail) Sloan; sisters, Ashley Clifton, Alison (Casey) Lanius, Lynn (Jason) Hancock; floral squaregrandchildren, Katie Jenkins, Karleigh Jenkins and Hailey Updike.
Pallbearers will be Geoffrey Updike, Michael Updike, Geoff Sloan, Scotty Hicks, Chase Jenkins and Buddy Ferrell.

Mrs. Browning was born February 26, 1938 in Robertson County to the late Jack Martin and Novella Howard Slate. She worked as the Cafeteria Manager at Springfield Middle and Springfield High School for many years and was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ.

Mrs. Browning is survived by her husband, Aubrey Browning; daughters, Jennifer (Robert) Ham of Lebanon and JoAnna Carr of Springfield; brothers, Carl Slate and floral squareJimmy Slate, both of Greenbrier; sister, Patsy Nevels of Greenbrier; and grandchildren, Suzanne Elizabeth Carr, Andrew Taylor Carr, Preston Browning Carr, Cathryn Jean Carr and Brayden Robert Ham.
