Jerry Edward Barlow Jr.Jerry Edward Barlow, Jr., age 46 of Springfield, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at NorthCrest Medical Center. His remains are to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Mr. Barlow was born September 8, 1970 in Rutherford County to Jerry and Deborah McCormick Barlow, Sr. of Cross Plains. He was a veteran of the United States Army, was a scaffold builder, and a member of Carpenters Union 223. He loved to fish and enjoyed dancing, watching his grandson play baseball, and playing practical jokes.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 2 -8 pm and again on Wednesday from 10 am until the hour of service at 2.

Zach was born on December 29, 1994 in Hendersonville, TN to Luke and Miss Penny Norman of Greenbrier and Heather Rowe of Gallatin. He was a scaffold builder.

Robert "Don" Donald PittRobert Donald “Don” Pitt, age 84 of the Lamont Community died Friday March 10, 2017 in Sumner Co TN. He was born October 1, 1932 in Robertson Co TN to the late Robert Ollie Pitt Sr and Rosa Warren Pitt. He was retired from working all over the United States as a pipeline worker and he loved bird hunting.

In addition to his parents, Don is also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Ollie Pitt Jr and Jerry Lynn Pitt and sisters, Willie Bell Hill and Robbie Jean Garrison.
Don is survived by his daughter, Debra Hinton of Hendersonville, TN; grandchildren, Krysta Powell and Jason Hinton, five great grandchildren; brothers, floral squareHenry Coleman Pitt of Orlinda, Clois Pitt of Springfield, Ricky Joseph Pitt of Franklin, KY; sisters, Dorothy Mae Lewis of Morgantown, IN, Lois Cooley of Indianapolis, IN, Linda Boles of Portland, TN and Mary Alice Belt of White House.

His request was to have his remains cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Connie Cissna, Rev. Clint Jones, and Bro. Doug Spain officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Danny Cook, Danny Dean, Charlie Cook, Mark Cook, Brian Cook, and Burnie Hudgens serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Bilyeu, Jeff Coffee, Anthony Coffee, Doug Wooden, and the members of Owens Chapel United Methodist Church. The family received friends at the funeral home Friday from 4 until 8 PM and Saturday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Cook was born March 8, 1927 in Logan County, KY to the late Clint and Mary Carter Wooden. She was a member of Owens Chapel United Methodist Church and was retired form Wilson Sporting Goods. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Moore Cook; brothers, Herschel and Marion Wooden; son-in-law, Ron Coffee; and grandson-in-law, Rick Strong.
She is survived by her son, Leonard Danny (Brenda) Cook of Gallatin; daughters, Nenda Cook Coffee of Springfield and Lovie Gayle (Danny) Dean of Springfield; sisters, Martha Traughber of Springfield and Judy (Jackie) Elmore of Chapmansboro; floral squaregrandchildren, Stephanie Cook Strong, Melissa Dean Bilyeu, Rhonda Coffee Hadder, Jeff Coffee, and Molly Coffee Kirk; great grandchildren, Olivia Lynn Bilyeu, Rachel Catherine Strong, and Anna Claire Strong; brother-in-law, Lovell (Joann) Cook of Springfield; and sister-in-law, Jean Wooden of Springfield.

The family received friends on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home

Mr. Taylor was born July 6, 1954 in Robertson County to the late Bernice and Viola Woodard Taylor. He was a tow motor operator at Dometic/Atwood, and was a member of Eastland Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Taylor loved watching UT Vols and Pittsburg Steelers football. He enjoyed working and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: floral squareHarold Taylor, and a sister: Joyce Sherrod.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Brett and Shelli Taylor of Springfield, daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer and Billy Hampton of Greenbrier, sisters: Nancy Lee, Elsie Moore, Brenda Hutton, Sylvia Bibee, and Dorothy Freeman all of Springfield, grandchildren: Landry Hampton, Ashylin and Braylin Taylor.

The family received friends on Wednesday from 12 noon until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born April 6, 1939 in Robertson County to the late Roy and Eva Mae Gibbs Coulter. She was a retired customer service clerk with Kroger and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith enjoyed working word search, collecting angels, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Minor Lee Smith.

Mrs. Henegar was born on December 29, 1970 in Gallatin, Tennessee, the daughter of Cindy and the late Thomas Lee Stubblefield. She graduated from MTSU and worked as a registered nurse for 20 years.

Oliver Leo "Ozzie" ReynoldsAge 81 of Cottontown passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 surrounded by those who loved him. He was born March 2, 1936. Ozzie was known as a loving husband, caring father, younger brother, and the most supportive grandfather and great-grandfather ever. Reynolds retired from Ford Motor Glass Company after 44 years. He was an avid athlete who lettered in baseball, and basketball at Belmont University, and was inducted into the Nashville Old Timers Fastpitch Softball Hall of Fame in 2002. Reynolds was known best at the gyms and ballparks as his grandkids and great-grandkids biggest supporter.

In addition to his parents Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Rebecca McIntosh Carter, his siblings, his grandchildren, Candace Carter, step-grandson, Chris Baker, great-grandchildren, Angel Grace Winski, Bret Mason and Paula Elain Mason.

In addition to his parents Mr. Pendleton is preceded in death by his wifes, Gayle Pendleton and Carol Marcum Pendleton; his brothers, William Thomas Pendleton, Roy James Pendleton and Anthony Ray Pendleton and sister, Mary Faye Pendleton. He is survived by his sons, Tony (Debbie) Pendleton of Cedar Hill and Timmy (Amy) Pendleton of Murfreesboro; step-son, Thad Marcum of Nashville; step-daughters, Lisa (Dave) Jones of Nashville, Jennie (Phillip) Roach of Pleasant View and Stacy (Chris) Drake of Springfield; brothers, Donald, Ralph, George and Lonnie Pendleton floral squareof Springfield; sister, Belvy Peercy of Springfield; special friend, Jeff Doss; 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Jim RippetoeJimmy “Jim” Harel Rippetoe, age 69 of Pleasant View, was the 5th of 6 children in the Charlie D. and Lucille Qualls Rippetoe family. He was born April 12, 1947 and died March 9, 2017.

He is survived by 2 brothers, Billy and David Rippetoe, and 2 sisters, Ruth Russell and Joann Whitaker. He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Patsy Nicholson Culwell Rippetoe. Jim was a devoted family man and leaves with cherished memories, his children by choice, Chuck Culwell and Amy Culwell Douglas, their spouses, Sherry Culwell & Micheal Douglas, and 5 grandchildren, Luke & Jacob Culwell, and Micaela, Dawson, and Mia Douglas, as well as his precious 2 year old Addie, daughter of friends, Michael & Cassey Digby.

After graduating high school, Jim proudly volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1965 and served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1970. He made a career in the Army National Guard Springfield, retiring in 2002 as a 1st Sergeant.

In addition to his parents, Jim has waiting for him in eternity, his elder sister, Bobbie Jean Shumate, three special brothers-in-law, Kenneth Dowlen, Donnie Russell, and Robert Whitaker.

Jim was of the protestant faith and a member of Providence Baptist Church. Pastor David Price and Bro. Gene Parton will hold the service.

Arrangements are with Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View where visitation was held Friday, March 10th, 5-8pm and again on Saturday from 9am till the hour of service at 11 o’clock am. Interment was held at Good Springs Cemetery with his grandsons and Michael Digby, Toby Rippetoe, and Mark Rippetoe serving as floral squarepallbearers.

Kenneth Mike CurtsingerAge 64 of Star City, Arkansas, formerly of White House, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at CHI St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born January 9, 1953 in Danville, KY to Foster and Carol Jeanne Schneider Curtsinger. He worked as an Automotive Service Technology Instructor for the University of Arkansas Monticello. He loved fishing, NASCAR and flying remote control airplanes. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steven Curtsinger.

He is survived by his wife of 42-1/2 years, Carol Ellis Curtsinger, Star City, Arkansas; sons, Cody (Holly) Curtsinger, White House, TN and Ty (Laci) Curtsinger, Portland, TN; sister, Shannon (Ron) Short, Danville, KY; 6 grandchildren.

Obituary for Philip Ray Bollinger

Philip Ray BollingerPhilip Ray Bollinger, age 75, passed away very peacefully at his home in Greenbrier, TN on Monday, March 6, 2017. A Celebration of his life was held Thursday, March 9, 2017, 2:30PM at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Greenbrier, TN with Pastor Barry Voorhies officiating.

He was born in Springfield, TN the son of the late Henry Bollinger and Irene Dillard Bollinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Gene, Porter & James Bollinger; sisters, Martha Blick, Julia Ann Bollinger, Faye Parker & Wanda Goad.

Philip was a ‘Born Again Believer’ and man of faith. A 1960 graduate of Greenbrier High School, he entered the U. S. Army in July 1960 where he served until July 1963. He went to work at Dupont Industries in 1964 and was promoted into a management position. He retired in 2000 after 35 years of service. He married the love of his life, Joy Weaver, on April 21, 1967 and they made their home in Greenbrier where they raised their 2 sons, Todd and Shane. He was active in community affairs serving as an Alderman from 1976 to 1980 and from 2002 to 2006. He served as the Mayor of Greenbrier from 1980 to 1988. After retirement he worked with his son, Todd with Tommy Walker Land Surveyors and as a school crossing guard at Greenbrier Middle School.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 50 years, Joy Bollinger; his 2 sons and their wives, Todd & Sharon Bollinger, Greenbrier, TN and Shane & Christy Bollinger, Hendersonville, TN; brother & sister-in-law, Ronnie & Ginny Bollinger, Greenbrier, TN; sister & brother-in-law, Shirley & Frank Woodard, Goodlettsville, TN; loved and cherished grandchildren, Brooke, Paige, Dylan & Hunter Bollinger; and special furry friend, Chloe.

Visitation with the family was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 3 to 8PM and on Thursday, March 9, 2017 prior to the service from 11 to 2:30PM. Final resting place will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Weaver, Frank Woodard, Mickey Cobb, Hunter Bollinger, Dylan Bollinger, Ronnie Weaver, Richie Pigg, Chucky Weaver & Randy Weaver. Honorary pallbearers, Harry Blick, Keith Covington & Bobby Dorris.

Emma Lela TackettEmma Lela Jones Tackett, age 89, of Ridgetop passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at her daughters home. Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier is in charge of arrangements.

The family received friends on Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier. The funeral service was at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier Chapel with Sellers Crain and Eugene George officiating. Burial followed in Spring Hill Cemetery on Dividing Ridge Road, Goodlettsville.

She was born September 2, 1927 in Nashville, TN to the late Jesse Everett and Mary Stansberry Jones. She was also preceded in death by former husband, Wayne Tackett; sisters, Lena Morris, Evelyn Jones, Frances Pitcock and Estelle Winslow.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Rivergate Church of Christ.
