Obituary for Tommy Escue

Tommy EscueTommy Eugene Escue, 72, of Greenbrier, died Sunday May 28, 2017 at Skyline Medical Center. The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 30th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be conducted in Springfield Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Escue was born February 17, 1945 in Rutherford County to the late Charlie R. and Goldie Lee Patterson Escue. He was a retired painter and paper hanger for Harold W. Moore & Sons. Mr. Escue loved hunting, fishing, and Nascar. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: Leon Escue, and by his sister: Lillian Escue.

Anita Mae Adams 97 of Glasgow died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at her residence. Born in Owens Chapel, TN she was the daughter of the late Madden John Allan and Mary Catherine Hayes Adams. Ms. Adams was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a Registered Nurse and a Nursing Instructor at the former Glasgow School for Health Occupations.

Survivors include 3 nieces Anita Carol Owens (Steve) of Cedar Hill, TN, Jackie Adams (Buddy Sneed) and Dana Jennings both of Springfield, TN; a nephew Jamie Adams of Portland, TN; a sister-in-law Dorothy Janet Adams of Orlinda, TN; several great nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver Kathy Murray (Maxie) of Glasgow. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 brothers Harold Thomas “Jack” Adams and James Allan Adams, Sr. and a lifelong best friend Annette St. Charles.

floral squareFuneral services will be 11:00am Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Orlinda Methodist Church Cemetery in Orlinda, TN at 2:00pm Wednesday. Visitation will be from 9:00am until time for the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Obituary for Odie David Wilkinson

Odie David Wilkinson, age 75 of Clarksville, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at his home. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Carroll officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery with military honors and Dale Wilkinson, Derek Wilkinson, David Wilkinson, Richard Wilkinson, Tad Wilkinson, Drew Pace, and Jonathan Walford serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Wilkinson, Floyd Wilkinson, Brodie Wilkinson, Sr., Ed Gribbens, Joe Russell, Lester Barnes, and Brent Barbee. The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5 until 8 PM and Monday from 11 AM until the hour of service.

Mr. Wilkinson was born February 11, 1942 in Sumner County to the late Clarence L. and Joann Conaly Wilkinson. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he obtained the rank of Senior Master Sargent and was known by most as Chief Wilkinson. He served seven campaigns in Vietnam and was an agent orange veteran. He attended Faith Outreach Church and had worked as Food Service Director at Logan Memorial Hospital, Food Service Director at Montgomery County Nursing Home, and was co-owner and operator of Wilkinson Variety Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Wilkinson; sister-in-law, Mavella Wilkinson; nephew, Mike Wilkinson; niece, Sylvia Ann Wilkinson; father-in-law, Rev. John D. Russell; and mother-in-law, Faye Barbee Byrns.

floral squareHe is survived by his wife, Serena Russell Wilkinson of Clarksville; sons, Dale Wilkinson and wife Susan of Collierville and Derek Wilkinson and wife Heather of Richmond Hills, GA; daughters, Deborah Wilkinson of Collierville, Tracy Wilkinson Pace and husband Greg of Collierville, and Erica Wilkinson and Jeremy Tucker of Clarksville; brothers, Brodie Wilkinson of Springfield, Wayne Wilkinson and wife Wanda of Springfield, and Floyd Wilkinson of Hendersonville; adopted family, Bernard Westover, III, Andrea Bundy, and Jonathan Walford; and twelve grandchildren.

Helen SmithHelen Ruth Hulen Smith, age 97, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 4-8pm and again on Saturday from 11am until the hour of service at 2pm.

Mrs. Smith was born February 19, 1920 in Bowling Green, KY to the late Robert Keith and Elizabeth Martin Hulen. She was a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian faith. Mrs. Smith was in a Bridge Club, was a member of the Golden Dreamers and was a volunteer of the NorthCrest Hospital Auxiliary with more than 20 years of service.

Obituary for Marlan Kenneth Kimbro

Marlan Kenneth KimbroAge 76 of Springfield went home to be with the Lord Monday, May 29, 2017 at his home. He was born September 3, 1940 in Dickson, TN to James Edward and Lucille Field Kimbro. He worked as a teacher for the State of Tennessee before his retirement. He loved traveling, stamp collecting and was a genealogist. He was a charter member of Long Hollow Baptist Church and a current member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher, beginning with teaching 4 year old children and later teaching older adults. In the past few years, he had again started teaching children and was enjoying serving the Lord in this ministry. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jack Norman, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lana Turner Kimbro, Springfield, TN; daughter, Jamie (Eric) Pistel, White House, TN; sister, Barbara Norman, Nashville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Bailey, Paige and Cheyenne; 1 great-grandchild, Sophia.

Chief David L. KeyChief David Long Key, age 66, of Hendersonville, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2017. A member from 1972 until his retirement in 2007, Chief Key lived and breathed the Hendersonville Police Department. He loved his Family, camping, antiques, fishing, guns, and he loved his dogs. He is a 1970 graduate of Hendersonville High School, a graduate of the Middle Tennessee State University Masters’ Program, a proud member of FBI National Academy Associates Session #111, the IACP and the TACP. He is also a member of the Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul David and Ruth Mae Key; and his brother, Larry Key.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy Key; and his son, Philip David Key; grandson, Charles Philip Key; aunt, Marjorie Lee; his cousin (who was more like a sister), Pat (Harold) Gorrell; nieces, Chastity (Mike) Roland and Kimberly (Mike) Bomkamp; and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 1, from 2:00pm-4:00pm and again from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, Hendersonville; and on Friday, June 2, at First Baptist Church Hendersonville from 11:00am until his Celebration of Life Service at 1:00pm with Chaplain Gary Ferrell and Pastor Sellers Crain officiating. Honorary pallbearers are the Hendersonville Police Department. Active pallbearers are Philip Key, Charles Key, Eddie Davis, Bruce Carter, Paul Harbsmeier, and David Pigna. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Burial followed in the Bellwood Cemetery in Adams with Todd Carter, Brandon Sprouse, Rusty Wallace, Justin Wright, Taylor Gray and Mike Feddie serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy Gayle, Paul Shoulders and Gary Sutton. Visitation with the family will be at the Funeral Home in Springfield on Sunday, May 28, from 4-8pm and on Monday, from 11am until hour of service at 1o’clock.

Mrs. Starks was born August 17, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Mary Mosley Davis Sneed and Billy Davis. She was a title clerk and a lifetime member of Nashville Corvette Club and NHRA.

Christy was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where her priority was making children’s ministry and church missions come to life with creativity and purpose. She was a Teacher’s Aide in the Special Education Department, Substitute teacher and Volunteer at Greenbrier Elementary School. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, Gee-ma, sister, friend, and a woman who left a Christ-like legacy.

Sallye taught school for over 30 years. She loved her church, family, friends and her numerous students.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Vivian Bush, Sr.; niece, Brandie Wilson, and uncle, Oslin Cheek.

Sallye leaves behind a brother, Ben (Doris Ann) Bush, Jr.; a sister, Jane (Jerry) Wilson; nephews, Trey (Cindy) Bush, Alan (Jennifer) Bush, and Kevin (Jess) Bush; nieces, Amy (Keith) Dennen and Jennifer (Del) Bennett; great nieces and nephews, Travis, Thomas, Emma and Abby Bush; Olivia, Genevieve, Samuel, Corson, Abe, Jonas and Simon Smith; and an aunt, Terrry Cheek.

Her family received friends from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, May 26, and again on Saturday, May 27, from 11:00am until her Celebration of Life Service at 12:00pm with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating. All services were at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. Tanya Moore Parker, age 40, of Clarksville, died Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017 at her home. Funeral services were conducted at 4 o’clock pm on Saturday, May 27th, 2017 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Shane Allen officiating. Following the service her remains were cremated.

Visitation with the family was held Saturday from 10AM till the hour of serviced at the funeral home. Tanya was born February 9, 1977 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a self-employed housekeeper and a Christian. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, J.B. & Bertha Chandler.
