Obituary for Gilbert Lee Rust
Gilbert Lee Rust, 69, of Allensville, KY, died Friday May 27, 2016 at St. Thomas Hospital West. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday May 31st at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Troy Rust, Rev. Carl Freudenthal, Rev. John Rushing, and Rev. Tyler Estep officiating. Interment will follow in the Belmont Cemetery in Allensville, KY. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Gilbert was born September 17, 1946 in Christian County, KY to the late Ernest Gilbert and Susie Belle Hollins Rust. He was a wood worker by trade and was a member of Red River Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for over 25 years. Gilbert loved his Lord, his family, and his church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Myra Daubenspeck Rust.
Gilbert is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Dayna and Mitch Lancaster, Carmen and Adam Little both of Cedar Hill, his son and daughter-in-law: Dr. Troy and Amy Rust of Hurdle Mills, NC, his beloved friend: Lena Spurgeon of Springfield, grandchildren: Christen (Jonathan) McGahey, Hope, Emily, and Noelle Lancaster, Addie, Amelia, AnMarie, Jasper, and Aria Rust, Addison, Jonathan, Drew, Olivia, Delaney, and McKenna Little. Gilbert’s sixteenth grandchild is due to be born on his birthday in September, and his first great granddaughter is due to be born in October.

Obituary for Lloyd Fowler
Comer Lloyd Fowler, 83, of Springfield, died Wednesday May 25, 2016 at NHC Healthcare Center in Springfield. Funeral services were conducted Saturday May 28th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. James Dean, Dr. Jerry Oakley, and Martin Babb officiating. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Robert Fowler, Stephen Fowler, Paul Sweatt, Greg Fowler, Ronnie Holman, Bobby Payne, Tommy Perkins, and Dan Rader serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were all former and current members of the Springfield Civitan Club, the Springfield Baptist Unity Sunday School class, and Donnie “Rerun” Hart. The family received friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Fowler was born May 10, 1933 in Davidson County to the late Comer M. and Altie Stuart Fowler. He was a graduate of the Springfield High School Class of 1952, where he played football under Coach Boyce Smith. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was the co-owner of the former Springfield Auto Parts and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Mr. Fowler was a member and past president of the Springfield Civitan Club, a past president of the former Coopertown Ruritan Club, past commander of Post 48 American Legion, a volunteer fire fighter for the City of Springfield for over 40 years, and he was a founding member of the former Robertson County Fire Department. Mr. Fowler enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Alvin Fowler.
Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife of 62 years: Peggy Hollingsworth Fowler of Springfield, sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Cathy Fowler of Springfield, Alan and Susan Fowler of Greenbrier, grandchildren: Robert Fowler and wife Sarah, Stephen Fowler, Sara Sweatt and husband Paul, great granddaughter: Kaylyn Fowler, sisters-in-law: Bettye Fowler and Janet Clinard both of Springfield.

Freda Lynn Reynolds Holt, 61, of Springfield, died Tuesday May 24, 2016 at her home. Freda was born May 18, 1955 in Robertson County to the late Roy and Susie Graves Reynolds. She was a homemaker by profession, and a caretaker by love. She was member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. Freda loved gardening, flowers, her animals, and going to yard sales and thrift stores.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Jennifer Reynolds, her life partner: Will Ed Walker, and her sister: Billie Sue Shutt. Freda is survived by her daughters: Brandi Reynolds of Springfield and Nikki Reynolds of Christina, her grandchildren: Kimberly Traughber and Logan Birdwell, and her niece: Tonia Walker.

Mary Lawrence Stewart, age 82 of Orlinda, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Pendley and Rev. Donnie Clemons officiating. Mrs. Stewart was born September 16, 1933 in Robertson County to the late Thomas Edwin and Vivian Corinne Mooneyhan Lawrence. A graduate of East Robertson High School class of 1951, she was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church, was a homemaker, and was a loving wife and mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy E. Stewart; brothers, Bill Lawrence and Tommy Lawrence; and sisters, Sarah Iva Shoulders and Betty Cowan.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dickie and Leslie Stewart, Ronnie and Ann Stewart, and Johnny and Pam Stewart, all of Springfield; daughters and son-in-law, Ann and Mike Mason and Billie Jo Reeves, both of Springfield; Sister, Josephine Gregory of Westmoreland; grandchildren, Erin Mauldin, Erica Stewart, Jason Stewart, Lanette Christopher, Lacy Chandler, Melissa Arms, Amy Dorris, John Robert Stewart, Chase Reeves, and Samantha Reeves; and 19 great grandchildren.

Terry Wayne Blackburn, age 71 of Springfield, died Sunday, May 22, 2016 at his home. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Terry Blackburn, Jr., Perry Osborne, Paige Osborne, Patrick Osborne, Paul Darrow, and Patrick Gonzalez serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM and Wednesday from 9 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. Blackburn was born January 10, 1945 in Robertson County to the late Hassel and Elizabeth Burns Blackburn. He was retired from Unarco where he worked for 30 years as a welder and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In his spare time, Terry loved to fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Osborne; a sister, Shirley Kurbis; and brothers, David and Steven Blackburn.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Blackburn of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Terry Wayne and Crystal Blackburn, Jr. of Springfield; sisters, Mary Hamill, Joyce Traughber, Kathleen Woody and husband Steve, Carolyn Brown and husband Ray, and Linda Blackburn, all of Springfield; brothers, Louis and Danny Blackburn, both of Springfield; grandchildren, Perry Osborne, Paige Osborne, Patrick Osborne and wife Brooke, Alexis Blackburn, Shane Gibbs, Annastasia Gonzalez, Robert Gonzalez, Jr., Patrick Gonzalez, and Diane Gonzalez; great grandchildren, P.J. and Wesley Osborne; and several nieces and nephews.

She was born in Robertson County, TN on June 18, 1927 to the late George Edward and Marguerite Overby McClendon. She is survived by a brother, Robert (Betty) McClendon of Greenbrier, TN. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Paul Connell Stuard, age 79, of Lewisburg, TN and formerly of Adams, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Joe Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery with Alexander Headley, Matthew Headley, Josh Stuard, Parker Stuard, Eddie Stuard, Randy Arms, John Stuard and Tommy Stuard serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 30, 2016 from 4-8pm and again on Tuesday from 11am until the hour of service at Noon.
Mr. Stuard was born March 31, 1937 in Adams to the late Thomas Miller and Flossie Bedwell Stuard. He was self-employed as an owner and independent truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Stuard was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents Mr. Stuard is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Briana Catherine Headley, his brothers, Burt Stuard, Billy Stuard, Johnny Stuard, Arthur Gene Stuard, Raymond Stuard and J.B. Stuard and by his sisters, Linda Faye Daniels, Josephine Beardsley, Corda Rae Cook, Louise Arms, Reba Arms and Lena Davis.
Mr. Stuard is survived by his sons, Connell (Annette Spicer) Stuard of Nashville, Mark (Cathy) Stuard of Manchester and Eli Stuard of Murfreesboro; daughters, Vickie Stuard (Terry) White of Ashland City and Tina (Rick) Headley of Appleton, WI; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Mary Massie
Mary Evelyn Massie, age 78, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at NorthCrest Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ms. Massie was born November 16, 1937 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Frank W. Martin, Sr. and Sadie Amanda McCoy Aubert. She worked as a caregiver and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents Ms. Massie is preceded in death by her step-father, Ted Aubert. She is also preceded in death by her son, Frank Smith, her sister, Ruby Higgins and her brother, Frank Martin, Jr.
Ms. Massie is survived by her brother, Donald Martin of Nashville; her sister, Bonnie (William) Cochran of Chapel Hill; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Ms. Massie will be sadly missed as she was loved by everyone who knew her.

Age 75 of Greenbrier went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at her home. She was born December 7, 1940 in Melrose Park, Illinois to Andrew and Charlotte Owens Mugnolo. She worked as a librarian for many years, loved crocheting and knitting and was a member of the Church of the First Born. She also loved spending time with her family, especially the children and was loved so much and will be missed by all of them.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons, Pastor Roger (Monecca) Brewer, Greenbrier, TN and Sonny (Jeannie) Brewer, Florida; daughter, Debbie (Danny) Hinson, Greenbrier, TN; brother, Andy (Michelle) Mugnolo, Illinois; 7 grandchildren, Jackey (Chad) Hardin, Jonathan (Jennifer) Brewer, Daniel (Kelsey) Hinson, Kevin (Ashley) Hinson, Jesse (Kelsie) Brewer, Matthew Hinson and Joshua Brewer; 2 great-grandchildren.

Robert Milo Sparkman died on Wednesday, May, 25, 2016. He was born on January 1, 1941. He is survived by two daughters; Tonya (Jimmy) Fox, Tara Shrum, and three brothers; David Sparkman, Frank Sparkman, and John Sparkman; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A brief visitation was held at the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville at 12 noon until time of a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 2pm Saturday, May 28, 2016, with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating.
“He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a proud graduate of Vanderbilt University, and retired chemical engineer from Dupont. He loved fishing, golf, smoking good cigars, and traveling extensively. He loved his parents, brothers, and family.”

Age 78 of Springfield passed away May 24, 2016 at Alive Hospice Skyline Madison Campus. He was born February 9, 1938 in Springfield, OH to Leo and Jennie Ruth Zotf Ford. He worked in maintenance at Riverside Hospital before his retirement and was a member of White House Seventh Day Adventist Church. He proudly served his country in the US Army.

She was born on August 28, 1920 in Nashville, TN to the late William and Mada Morrow Goodman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hugh David Bell; son, William Glenn Bell; brothers, Eli Goodman, Charlie Goodman; sisters, Lorene Russell Nannie Wiederholt and great-granddaughter, Chloe McMahan.
She was a Seamstress at Hayes Garments and a 50 year plus member of Greenbrier First Baptist Church where she was active in the women’s group and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed working in the Nursery at Church and watching her kids play ball. She also loved to cook and loved her family.
She is survived by sons, Troy (Lucille) Bell of Ridgetop, TN, Garry (Patricia) Bell of Dalton GA, Mike (Bonna) Bell of Bell Buckle, TN, Terry Bell of Donelson, Ivan (Amy) Bell of Springfield, TN; daughters, Gwen (Bill) Evans of Ridgetop, TN, Teresa (Bill) Kautzman of Franklin, TN, Myra (Donnie) Bryant of Greenbrier, TN; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as Pallbearers.

Age 89 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Hendersonville, TN surrounded by his family. He was born August 22, 1926 in Hamtramck, MI to Samuel and Clara Poierier Tourkakis. He served in the US Air Force during World War II , earning several medals,where he met and married his late wife of 61 years, Dorothy Garontakos Tourkakis January 19, 1946. He was of the Greek Orthodox faith and had a deep passion and love for the Lord. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He later worked at Western & Southern Life Insurance Company until his retirement.
Preceded in death by mother, Clara Poierier; father, Samuel Tourkakis; step-mother, Beatrice Tourkakis; wife, Dorothy Garontakos Tourkakis; daughter, Elaine Tourkakis; great-grandsons, John Michael and Joshua James Peterson; sister, Joanne Krawczyk and brother, Milton Tourkakis.
Survived by daughter, Jo Anna Hodges; son, Spryo Tourkakis; grandchildren, Sandra (Loren) Green, Christina (Jeff) Keith, John Vintzel and Demetra Tourkakis; 5 great-grandchildren, Anthony Davenport, Kayla Keith, Christian Pilgreen, James Green and “Pano” Tourkakis; sister, Helen Hermann; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Mr. Hinkle is preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Beasley and his brother, Wayne Hinkle. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Fudge Hinkle; daughters, Stacy (Kenny Collins) Hinkle of Coopertown and Michelle Grimm of Cape Girardeau, MO; brother, Robert (Faye) Sullivan of Pleasant View; granddaughters, Natalie Grimm and Maggie Grimm; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Age 77 of White House went home to be with the Lord May 21, 2016 at Centennial Medical Center. He was born August 29, 1938 in Manchester, TN to John and Laura May Hale Pewitt Mayton, Sr. Mr. Mayton proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines and in the Army, where he retired after 20 years of service. He was deployed on one tour of duty to Korea and on two tours of duty to Vietnam. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church.
