Obituary for Chester D. Woodard
Chester D. Woodard Age 56 – On Saturday, October 12, 2019, Chester Woodard, father of two children, passed away at age 56. Chester was born on August 18, 1963 in Springfield Tennessee.
He gave his life to Christ at a young age at New Wells Grove in Barren Plains, TN. He attended East Robertson Schools and was known to be a great basketball player.
He had a passion for working and watching the Dallas Cowboys. Chester worked for Electrolux for twenty years, Johnson Electric for seven years, and many other jobs.
He was preceded in death by father, Arthur and mother, Doretha Woodard and a brother James Lee.
He is survived by four children: sons, Aaron D. Bunton of Athens, GA and DeShawn Dunn; daughters, Keyshiah Dunn and Myranda Woodard; three grandchildren, 
Gionni Woodard of Springfield TN, Dionni Woodard and Tria Nowden. A devoted companion, Linda Faye Dowlen; three brothers, Curtis Woodard, Jeffery Lee and Frankie Woodard; five sisters, Joyce Lunsford, Deborah Smith, Linda Smith, Evon Woodard, Vickie Chambers and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services were Saturday, October 19, 2019 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Gerry Jones, Eulogy and Officiant.

Obituary for Chris Cockrill
William Christian Cockrill, age 77, of Adams, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 3:30pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Joe Rushing and Billy Vogle officiating. Burial of Mr. Cockrill’s cremains will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 1pm until the hour of service at 3:30pm.
Mr. Cockrill was born October 10, 1942 in Nashville to the late Charles V. and Mary Johnston Cockrill, Sr. He worked as a Land Surveyor and was a member of the Connell Memorial Methodist Church. He was an active member of the TN KY Thresherman’s Association, the Adams Community Club and the Adams Fisherman’s Club.
In addition to his parents Mr. Cockrill is preceded in death by his brothers, Benjamin Franklin Cockrill and Charles V. Cockrill, Jr., sister, Mary Kinsbury Cockrill, and sons-in-law, Kevin Lawrence and John Morgan.
Mr. Cockrill is survived by his wife, Sharon Ensley Cockrill; sons, William Christian Cockrill, Jr. of Hendersonville and Jeffrey Wall and Jonathan Wall, both of Adams; daughters, Tracy Cockrill Lawrence of Goodlettsville and Stephanie (Mark) Wall Morgan of Hendersonville; sister, Polly (Ron) Cockrill Ingram of Adams; seven grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Jaska Ruth Hobbs
Jaska Ruth Moore Hobbs, on October 13, 2019 by the Grace of God, arrived in the presence of her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. She was 86.
Jaska is a 61 year resident of White House and Sumner County. A native of Maury County, she was born at home on the family farm. Jaska was educated in the public schools of Maury County attending Culleoka School and graduating from Columbia Central High School the class of 1951. She attended Columbia Business College. Jaska was always grateful to have been reared a “farm girl” where she learned how to be resourceful and the importance of work. She was a talented cook, seamstress, and homemaker. During Jaska’s youth and teen years, she was a very active member of the 4-H Club. She was the Tennessee State winner in wool dressmaking in 1951 representing the State at the 4-H National Congress. Early in her adult years, she served in various capacities utilizing her training in bookkeeping and stenography. Jaska loved people and she never met a stranger. It was part of her spiritual DNA to live out the Command of Jesus to love people more than yourself. Jaska provided home-cooked meals to those in need, assisted others with medical issues, used the ministry of sending cards of encouragement to thousands to lift their spirits in a time of need. She never sent a card without utilizing her talent of writing a personal message.
Jaska’s first priority was following the teachings of Jesus followed by her love for family. As a devoted Mother, she taught her children at home in addition to their instruction in the public school. She was actively involved in each of her children’s academic and sports events.
Jaska accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a twelve-year-old at the McCains Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was an active member of the Church at Grace Park in White House, where she was involved over the years in all phases of church life.
Jaska is a former First Lady of White House, devoting her energy to the development of White House focused on its park and athletic facilities.
Jaska loved to travel with her family and friends visiting our beautiful national parks and historic sites. She was an avid photographer.
Jaska is survived by her husband of 66 years, Billy S. Hobbs, the love of her life; Her sons Jeffrey Moore Hobbs (Anna), Joseph Sewell Hobbs (Karen), James Franklin Hobbs (Rita); 4 Grandchildren, Jenna Hobbs McCarthy (Gary), Joshua M. Hobbs (Chelsea), Dr. Luke J. Hobbs (Chelsea), Leah Hobbs Swafford (Ryan); 8 great-grandchildren, Jaelyn, Laney, Hayden, Britton, Brileigh, Maddox, Harper, Rowan and Asher; Her brother, Virgil H. Moore, Jr.; nephew, William G. Moore, Sr.
She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil H. Moore and Fannie Mai Arterburn; infant brother, Jerry A. Moore. Jaska is survived by numerous Tennessee and Texas Cousins.
A Celebration of Love service will be held in the Chapel of the Church at Grace Park on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10AM, with Pastor Bob Cook, Eulogist. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2019 5-7PM at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House and 9-10AM on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the chapel of the Church at Grace Park.
Private interment will be held in the Historic Pleasant Mount Cemetery in Maury County. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.

Michael Harold Kennedy, 71, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday October 9, 2019 at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be conducted Tuesday October 15th at 10:00 a.m. at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Mr. Kennedy was born May 24, 1948 in Stockton, CA to the late Francis and Mary Kathryn Rider Kennedy. He was a retired Rifle Trainer for the Department of Defense and was of the Presbyterian faith. Mr. Kennedy was a veteran of the U.S Army, having served during Vietnam. He loved gardening, fishing, and hummingbirds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Edward Kennedy, Roy Kennedy, and Judy Kennedy Lee. Mr. Kennedy is survived by his sisters: Mary Kennedy of France, Carolyn Kennedy of California, and Margie Slayter of Springfield, by his brothers: Paul, Harvey, Les, and Joe Kennedy all of California, by several nieces and nephews, and by the one he loved most, his schnauzer, Pumpkin.

Kenneth Glenn Marley, age 79 of Springfield, died Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 14, 2019 at 4:30 PM at Battle Creek Baptist Church. The family will visit with friends following the Celebration of Life Service.
Mr. Marley was born April 16, 1940 in Kennett, MO to the late Walter “Slim” and Lois Eliza Ferrell Marley. He was a member of Battle Creek Baptist Church and was a retired Oil Rig Consultant. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. Kenneth loved to sing gospel and country music, loved to cook and barbecue, and loved to go hunting. In addition to his parent, he was preceded in death by a son, Ken Marley; a daughter, Kelli Marley; grandchildren, James Marley and Marley Ray Marley; 1 brother; and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Marley of Springfield; son, Kenny Marley of Eastland, TX; daughters, Annette Marley-Van Buskirk and husband, Jack of Rockford, IL, Robin Marley Bracken and husband, Cid of Rockford, IL, and Kim Marley of Conway, AR; brother, Steve Marley and wife, Sherry of Rockford, IL; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Edwena Joy Holland, 70, of Orlinda, passed away on Monday October 7, 2019 at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Memorial services will be conducted Sunday October 13th at 3:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Orlinda. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Holland was born January 8, 1949 in Scottsville, KY to the late Charlie and Callie Mann Spivey. She was a graduate of Allen County High School Class of 1967. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and had worked in housekeeping for B.F. Myers. Mrs. Holland enjoyed photography and getting together with her school mates whenever they could. She was a good cook and loved watching the Andy Griffith show.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Melba Spivey. Mrs. Holland is survived by her husband of 52 years: Johnny Holland of Orlinda, by her sons and daughters-in-law: Johnny and Tonya Holland, Jr., of Springfield, Charlie and Connie Holland of Springfield, by her brother: Arnold Spivey of Scottsville, KY, by her grandchildren: Jesse, Emma, and Clayton Holland, and by her best friend who was like a sister: Diana Stewart of Bowling Green, KY.

Joe Howard Hunter, age 67, of Puryear and formerly of Springfield, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 14, 2019 at 12pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Hunter was born April 21, 1952 in Springfield to the late Mr. Carlton C. Hunter and Mrs. Nellie Ruth Bayliss Hunter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked at DuPont. He loved to fish and was an avid UT Vols and Atlanta Braves fan.
In addition to his mother Mr. Hunter is survived by his sons, JoJo (Sherika) Hunter of Springfield, Justin Hunter of Springfield and Jo Nathan Hunter of Old Hickory; sister, Deborah (Dale) Leftwich of Hendersonville; and grandchildren, Jalen Hunter, Anna Hunter and Alicia Hunter.

Donald Lee “Donny” Poston, age 76, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at his home.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 1pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Jim Clark officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with the “Poston & Friends Band”, Greg Stephens, Charlie Wilkerson, Paul Wilkerson, George Anderson, Glen Mason and Roger Carroll serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Wallace West, Steve Fisher, Mark Hand, Lewis Heatherly, David Speer, Calvin Aschoff, Ray Peavey, Patrick Smith, David Head and Ricky Head.

Mr. Poston was born November 5, 1942 in Davidson County to the late Barton and Pearl Ellis Poston. He taught himself to play the guitar in High School and has enjoyed playing lead guitar all these years on Rock, Gospel, Country and Bluegrass songs. Mr. Poston was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard Reserves, worked at Acme Boot, Electrolux and Elmwood Cemetery, was a TN Vols fan and was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Mr. Poston is survived by his son, Don Poston, Jr. of Murfreesboro; sister, Fay Poston Hallmark of Springfield; niece, Kim Peavey of Ashland City; and great-nieces, Kara Wilson of Ashland City and Kelsey Wilson of Knoxville.

Evelyn was a loving mother and grandmother. A great protector, she was compassionate and focused on the family.

Mr. Cassidy was born November 4, 1954 in Warren Co, KY to the late Dan Beckham Cassady and Beulah Lee Coleman Cassady. He was the director of housekeeping at Richland Place in Nashville and the former director of housekeeping at North Crest Health. He loved his family and staying busy. He loved to make others laugh and carried a bright energy to those he was around. In reality he just loved life. Mr. Cassidy enjoyed sports cars and attending car shows.

Richard Asa Hendrix, age 61 of Springfield, died Saturday, October 5, 2019 at NorthCrest Medical Center.

Mr. Hendrix was born February 16, 1958 in Toledo, OH to the late Harry and Jeanne Wolfe Hendrix. He loved sports, especially Detroit Tigers baseball, Michigan State Spartans, and Detroit Red Wings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Hendrix.

Frank Robert Flamm, 75, of Cross Plains, passed away on Monday September 30, 2019 at North Crest Medical Center.

Interment followed in White House Memorial Gardens with Cory Hooper, Clint Ford, Kyle Harp, Chase Smith, Channing Smith, Joey Flamm, Cody Flamm, Bobby Flamm, Derrick Pulley, and Jesse Ayers serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.
Mr. Flamm was born June 5, 1944 in Allegheny, PA. He was a retired farmer for Goosetree Farms, and he loved watching Penn State and the Pittsburg Steelers play football. He was preceded in death by his mother: Catherine Flamino Flamm and by his son: Brad Flamm. Mr. Flamm is survived by his wife: Betty Pulley Flamm of Cross Plains, by his sons: David Redfern of Cross Plains, Timmy Flamm of Millersville, and Toby Randolf of Temple, TX, by his daughters: Tressa (Jeff) Smith of Russellville, KY, Angela (Greg Belcher) Harp of Dickson, by his brother: Joey Flamm of Pittsburg, PA, by his sister: Donna Clemente of Pittsburg, PA, by sixteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

DECEMBER 6, 1960 ~ SEPTEMBER 26, 2019 (AGE 58)
Born and raised in Springfield, TN where he attended school in the Robertson County School system. He was a handyman and enjoyed outside work. He shared his fun, outgoing personality with everyone and never met a stranger. He loved his family and was always bringing lots of laughter. Antwon was known for his incredible athletic ability, playing baseball, but was sensational in basketball. He was a member of Beards Chapel Church Reverend Randy Taylor pastor.
He leaves to cherish his memories wife Sheronda Taylor, his children Verrico Taylor, Patrick Chatman, and Antwon V. Head, Step sons Oktavian Moss and Isiah Moss, sister in laws Lillie Taylor and Vera Taylor. He leaves behind his best friend Darrell Woodard, a special niece Sheika Taylor, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and others in the community that loved him. He will be remembered by all the neighborhood children, because he was always kidding around with them. In addition, he was very caring and would offer words of wisdom to them.
Antwon joins in heaven his mother Gladys Watkins Taylor, father James Ellis Turner, all of his brothers and sisters Mary Etta Taylor, John Taylor, Billie Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, and Christine Taylor.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 7:00 pm. Held at Beards Chapel Church.

She was born in Meridian, MS on July 2, 1953 to the late Huey Lang and Fannie “Rose” Pullin Lang. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Clyde Daniel.
She was a Medical Clerk in the Medical Field.

Jeff was born on April 14th, 1982 in Clarksville, Tennessee to Teresa Hester and the late Billy Curtis Hester. He was employed as a painter with CPI in Nashville.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, F.C. and Lula Phillips; and a brother, Steven Hester.
In addition to his mother he is survived by brothers, Bobby and Pete Hester; sisters, Judy Hester (Michael Tisdale) and Diane (Tim) Cottrell; godson, Isaiah Stephens; and nieces and nephews.

Obituary for Mona Jeanne Jarrell
Mona Jeanne Smith Jarrell, age 89, of Springfield, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at NHC HealthCare.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Springfield Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 10am until 12:00pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home. Entombment will follow with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Jarrell was born July 30, 1930 in Friendship, TN to the late Presley Francis and Daisy Pitt Smith. She worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority and was a member of the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Jarrell is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wendell Jarrell and his sisters, Merle Crawford and Frances Warren McNeall. She is survived by her step-sons, Kenny (Carla) Jarrell of Nashville and Kris Jarrell of Smyrna; step-daughters, Kimberly (Rick) Coad of Hoover, AL and Karen (Cris) Anderson of Selina, TX; step-grandchildren, Paige Melton, Abby Melton, Grace Anderson, Jackson Anderson and step-great-grandchild, Grayson Coad.

Obituary for Marvin Lee Bennett
Marvin Lee Bennett, age 83 of Hendersonville, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2019. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was all about his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Rosa Bennett; brothers, Richard Bennett, Charles Bennett and Robert Bennett; son in law, Donald Colvin. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jeanette Bennett; daughters, Connie Colvin, Pam (Buddie) Toon and Lisa Hankins; son, Randall Bennett; sister, Linda (Joe) Witherspoon and brother, Wayne (Connie) Bennett. 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Bennett’s family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 7 and from 12 p.m. until his Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8 at Austin and Bell Funeral Home, Hendersonville with Bro. Mike Brady officiating. Interment will be in Halltown General Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Obituary for Robert Wayne Tate
Age 75 of White House passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Saint Thomas West. He was born April 26, 1944 in Springfield, TN to Anderson Robert and Jewel Christine Charlton Tate. He worked as a real estate agent before his retirement and was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Patsy Escue Tate.
He is survived by his wife, Christeene Jones Tate, White House, TN; sons, Bob (April) Tate, White House, TN, Don (Raychel) Enck, Goodlettsville, Tn and Eric (Amy) Enck, White House, TN; 5 grandchildren, Alex Tate, Carla Tate, Caleb Enck, Caitlin Enck and Chloe Amrhein; 3 great-grandchildren, Brayden McCormack, Landen McCormack & Caysen McCormack.
Funeral service was held Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Sam Brown officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery with Bob Tate, Don Enck, Eric Enck, Caleb Enck, Tony Tate and Alex Tate serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were members of Mt. Pleasant Joy Workers Sunday School Class, Billy Jones, John & JoAnn Ewing, Jimmy Underwood and Donnie Jones. Visitation was held Friday, October 4, 2019 4-8pm and Saturday, October 5, 2019 12-2pm at the funeral home. Eastern Star service was held Friday night, October 4, 2019 at 7PM in the chapel.

Obituary for Katherine Eaton
Julia Katherine Fyke Eaton, age 103, of Springfield, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at her home.
A Home Going Celebration was held Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 1pm at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Joe Rushing officiating. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Thursday from 11am until the hour of service at 1pm.
Mrs. Eaton was born March 26, 1916 in Springfield to the late Harley E. and Minnie Murphy Fyke. She worked as a bookkeeper and was a member of the Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Eaton is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Eaton, her brother, Paul Fyke, sister, Margaret Fyke and her nephew Larry Fyke.
Mrs. Eaton is survived by her niece, Annelle (Clifton) Gupton of Springfield; nephew, David G. Fyke of Stroudsville; great-nieces and great-nephews, Andy Gupton of Springfield, Jason (Patricia) Fyke of Florida, Julie Fyke Patterson of Texas and Monica (Steve) Fyke Fuqua of Joelton; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Age 83 of Goodlettsville went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 29, 2019 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital. He was born July 6, 1936 in Sumner County, TN to Monroe Wilson & Annie Clara Arterburn Huddleston. He worked as a carpenter in the construction industry before his retirement and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Lillie, Jean, Bea & Marie; 2 brothers, Chester and Harold.
He is survived by his wife, Francys Kirby Huddleston, Goodlettsville, TN; son, Danny (Janie) Huddleston, Springfield, TN; daughters, Glenda Petty, Gallatin, TN, Karen Johnson, Brentwood, TN and Joye (Joey) Cline, White House, TN; step-sons, Ray (Kerri) Crunk, Jr., White House, TN and Tony R. Crunk, Sr. Nashville, TN; step-daughters, Judy Renee Crunk and Debra (Jeff) Barnes, both of Millersville, TN; brother, Robert Huddleston, Hendersonville, TN; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Obituary for Minnie Rice Overton
Minnie Rice Overton of Hendersonville, Tennessee went to be with her Lord on September 28, 2019 at age 95.
She is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Vance Overton; her parents, Patrick and Nellie Rice; her brother, Harold Rice; sisters, Ellen Kemp and Pauline Gammon. She is survived by her two brothers, William Rice (Carol) of Hendersonville, DeWitt Rice of Dickson; plus several nieces and nephews.
Minnie was a member of McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Miller Medical Group.
Celebration of Life Service was conducted by Brother Johnny Carver at Austin & Bell Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 2 at 2:30 pm. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at 1:30 pm. Private interment service to follow.

Obituary for Robert Dean Schaak
Robert Dean Schaak “Bob”, of Billings, Montana, was called home on September 28, 2019 at the age of 85.
Bob was born on December 1, 1933 in Hardin, Montana to his parents Adolph and Lula Schaak. Bob grew up on a farm caring for animals and crops which instilled a passion he carried with him throughout life. Bob attended Seventh Day Adventist Academy, where another passion developed; flying. Bob followed that passion into the Marines where he received an Honorable discharge in 1956. Bob never let go of his passions and built a farm in Billings, MT, where he could fly his planes, dusting his crops. Bob lived by the quote “The Sky is the Limit” and passed his love for nature down to his children and grandchildren. In 1962, Bob married the love of his life, Mary Ann. They kept adventures alive by traveling the US in their RV, creating memories with their children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Schaak; his three children, Kristine Schaak, Tami (Jim) Kelly, Danny Schaak; his two step children, Tom (Candy) Lanter, Elaine Lanter; his brother, William Schaak; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob is proceeded in death by his parents, Adolph and Lula Schaak; his brother, Duane Schaak; his sister, Barbara Schaak; his step daughter, Leigh Ann Schaak; his step son, William Lanter; and his great-granddaughter, Kayana Schaak.
A Celebration of Life service will be arranged at a later date.
