Richard BridgesRichard Davis Spicer Bridges, 31, of Murfreesboro, died Friday September 30, 2016 in Murfreesboro. Memorial services will be conducted Monday October 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Rushing officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Richard was born July 9, 1985 in Robertson County. He attended World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro and worked in landscaping. Richard enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and working with his step-father in flipping houses.

Obituary for Dorothy Mae Weatherhead

Dorothy Mae WeatherheadDorothy Mae Weatherhead, age 91 of Springfield, TN died Wednesday September 28, 2016 at her home. The family received friends on Saturday October 1 , 2016 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Her remains were cremated.

Mrs. Weatherhead was born July 3, 1925 in Monroe, Wisconsin to the late Carl and Gladys Olson Brennecke. Her husband of 62 years, Wayne Weatherhead also preceded her in death. She and Wayne farmed together for many years in Winnebago, Illinois.

Over the years she was a restaurant owner, waitress and cook and for many years she did catering for special events. She was a member of South Haven Baptist Church. Mrs. Weatherhead loved people and enjoyed conversation with all. She was a huge floral squarecountry music fan even in her later years.

Surviving her are her daughters, Louise (Gerald) Saack of Roscoe, IL and Rita Roach of Springfield; grandsons, Rob (Maricela) Becker and Scott (Iris) Becker; four great grandchildren; sister, Elaine Winzenried of Monroe, WI and special care giver, Porter Roach of Springfield.

Obituary for Ronald L. Hardaway

ronald-hardawayRonald L. Hardaway, age 73 of Springfield, died Tuesday September 27, 2016 at his home. Funeral Services were conducted on Friday September 30, 2016 at 10 am in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Mr. Hardaway was born on June 4, 1943 in Robertson County to the late Logan and Vesta Clinard Hardaway. In addition to his parents he preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Hardaway and Dannie Hardaway. Mr. Hardaway was a veteran of the United States Air Force, retired from the Air National Guard and served as the assistant director of Human Resources for the State of Tennessee.

floral squareHe also loved genealogy, reading, movies, and spending time with his great niece and nephew.

Mr. Hardaway is survived by his nephew and his wife Stephen and Rachel Hardaway of Greenbrier, and great niece and nephew Hannah Hardaway and Hunter Hardaway.

Ruby HensonRuby Henson, age 90 of Cross Plains, died Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Cunningham. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Jones officiating. Burial followed in Cross Plains Cemetery with Joshua Henson, Brandon Davis, Patrick Davis, Stuart Janssen, Steven Harrington, and Nicole Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Ryan Harrington. The family received friends at the funeral home Monday from 2 until 8 PM and Tuesday from 11 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Henson was born January 12, 1926 in Robertson County to the late Leon and Eva Hancock Fuquay. She was a member of Cross Plains United Methodist Church and was a retired secretary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Douglas Henson; brothers, Jim, Robert, and Emmitt Fuquay; and sister, Avo Keith.

floral squareShe is survived by her sons, Jon Michael McGee of Alaska, Robert Henson and wife Teresa of Murfreesboro, and Michael Henson and wife Linda of Missouri; daughters, Patty Davis and husband Ray of Cunningham and April Fuston and husband Gary of Cross Plains; brother, Paul Fuquay and wife Jewel of Greenbrier; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Donnie "D.K." DavisDonnie Kent “D.K.” Davis, 81, of Greenbrier, died Friday September 16, 2016 at Skyline Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday September 20th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Evans and Dr. Brandon Pugh officiating. Interment followed in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Buzz Kinle, Greg Reynolds, Todd Evilcizer, Ronnie Wilkerson, Gus Pappas, and Terry Hayes serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis was born August 3, 1935 in Old Hickory to the late Braxton and Pauline Groves Davis. He graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Management from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville. Mr. Davis was a retired manager from the State of Tennessee Transportation and Mass Transit, with 36 years of service. After retiring from the State, he then worked 9 years with the Clarksville Transit System. He was a member of the Oak Hills Golf Course Old Golfers. He enjoyed reading, cooking, and playing piano. Mr. Davis was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and had served as music director in previous years at both Ridgetop Baptist and Ebenezer Baptist. He loved animals, especially his favorite hound: Daisy.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 53 years: Bettye Suter Davis of Greenbrier, daughter and fiancée: Kelly Davis and Greg Reynolds of Cookeville, brother: John Davis of Cape Coral, FL, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Billie and John Evilcizer and Bobbye and Jimmy Wilson all of Greenbrier, 3 nieces a nephew, 3 great nieces, and a great nephew also survive.

Mr. Wilson was born March 13, 1935 in Franklin, TN to the late Andrew Jackson and Ruthie Wilson. He was a retired truck driver and trailer mechanic. He was also a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Wilson; brothers, Robert Wilson and Lewis Wilson.

William Hollis LittleAge 77 of Cross Plains, Tennessee passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at Skyline Medical Center. He was born March 28, 1939 in Pickett County, TN to William Harman and Data Smith Little. He served his country in the U.S Army, worked as a welder for Rogers Manufacturing Company and was of the Methodist faith. He married Bonita Ann Stover on April 8, 1960 and they were married 53 years before her death in 2014.

Preceded in death by his parents, William Harman & Data Smith Little; wife, Bonita Ann Little; brothers, Gilbert and Randall Little; sister, Margie Smith.

He was born October 13, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Thorwald Oliver & Hazel Boze Christenson. He worked as an electrician for TVA and was the owner and operator of CRS Electric. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Al Menah Shrine Temple, White House Masonic Lodge #700, American Legion Post #206 and White House First United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Mae Christenson; son, David Allen Christenson, Jr.

He is survived by son, Drew (Mandy) Christenson, Cottontown, TN; daughters, Julie Christenson, Cudahy, WI and Denise (Bobby) Thornton, Oak Grove, TN; brother, Duke (Wanda) Christenson, Montero, IL; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends on Friday, September 30th, from 4-8:00PM and again on Saturday from 1:00PM until the hour of service.

Mr. Gilmore was born March 3, 1926 in Brownwood, TX to the late Roy Lee and Lee Ola Gilmore. He worked for most of his life as an automobile mechanic. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served in World War II, and was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Max Gilmore, and sister, Lorene Evans.

He was born Harold Keith Smith on May 22, 1947 in Hamlet, NC to Murphy James and Mattie Lee Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. He attended Long Hollow Baptist Church. He loved his wife more than anything and made everyone feel special and believe in themselves. He was a great encourager. He was an avid golfer, loved to travel, taught Sunday School and he coached all of his children in sports, as well as other young people in the Hendersonville Parks Department.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gordon (Margie) Smith, Phil Smith, and Jimmy (Nan) Smith; sister, Jean (Earl) Herring.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer “Jeff” Smith, Gallatin, TN; daughters, Aimee (Lance) Brown, Goodlettsville, TN and LeAllison (Billy) Whittinghill, Castalian Springs, TN; son, Ryan “Bubba” (Cortney) Smith, Cleveland, TN; sisters, Maxine (J.T.) Kelly, Rose Hill NC, Doris (Bob) Wright, Hamlet NC, and Barbara (Danny) McLean, Rockingham NC; a very special aunt, Lois (John) Horne; 14 grandchildren, Shelby, Bailey, Kelsey and Cooper Brown; Joshua, Jacob, Mattie, Allie, Cantrell and Jase Whittinghill; Isaac, Mary, Emma and Izzy Smith.
