Orlinda Area Home Fire Saturday Night Under Investigation

(ORLINDA AREA) TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Firefighters from Kentucky and Tennessee battled a structure fire on Pepper Rd. in the Orlinda area Saturday night. A small part of Pepper Rd. sits just inside the Tennessee border from Kentucky. (MAP) The call to 911 came in around 11:15 Saturday evening.

According to Fire Chief Dusty Johnson with the Orlinda Fire Department, the home was not occupied. Chief Johnson told Smokey Barn News that he will be searching
for a cause of the fire over the next day or so but he is calling the fire suspicious and
he will be reaching out to the State Fire Marshal to assist in an investigation.

The home suffered heavy damage and will likely be classified as a total loss. According to a neighbor the home has been vacant for eight months to a year.

From Tennessee, Firefighters from Orlinda and Cross Plains responded to the fire and from Kentucky, the Franklin Simpson Fire Department. Robertson County EMS and police from both Tennessee and Kentucky also responded to the fire.
