Robertson County School Officials are investigating an incident involving a Krisle Elementary School bus on the first day of school. As we understand it the driver hit a bump or pothole that apparently jostled the bus. The kids all seemed fine and the driver finished the route according to Robertson County Commissions Coordinator Jim Bellis.
About an hour after the driver returned to base and parked the bus calls started coming in from parents about injuries their children had sustained on the ride. At least 4 possibly five children were taken to NorthCrest by their parents with bruises. One source told Smokey that one child ended up under the seat and hit something hot. None of the injuries reported so far have been more than superficial but apparently the parents are trying to figure out exactly what happened.
An investigation by the R.C, Transportation Supervisor Jerry Partlow is presently under way with an examination of the route to try and determine the exact location of the incident and what happened. They are trying to determine if the driver left the roadway and impacted a curb or if there was an anomaly on (or in) the road.

Does this bus go down Burr Rd? There was a bus that hit a bridge on Burr Rd? on Tuesday around lunch did not see any cops wondering if the driver of the bus just drove off? It looked pretty bad. anybody know anything about this? You go by the bridge and see where the bus hit it.
They are not telling the truth. The first call came in immediately after my niece and nephew were dropped off. I called 15 minutes later and was told by Jerry Partlow himself that the bus was being contacted to find out where in route he was and they were going to have any remaining children removed from the bus. Some pothole to knock a 90lb 8yr old into the window then onto the floor. The bus driver in question is Mr Darden (sp) whom of which was my 30 something year old sis n laws elementary school bus driver. I was informed later that he had hit a pothole and checked on all of the children and everyone was OK. Two children do not get off of a school bus in tears and have bruises if nothing happened. Come on Jerry Partlow….tell the truth. What is protocol? What if these children had concussions and needed immediate medical attention? Do they have a camera on the bus? Give me a break!!!!
