Man Accidentally Shot In Head Dies In Clarksville
CLARKSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Clarksville man has died after being accidentally shot in the head Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, the incident took place just after 4 pm at a home located in the 300 Block of Ringgold Rd.. MAP When officers arrived at the home, CPR was in progress. The man, reportedly in his 20’s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Based on a preliminary investigation, the man was showing a rifle to a family member, which unbeknownst to either person, the rifle was still loaded. The victim was standing in front of the rifle when the trigger was pulled and he sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
“At this juncture, there are no charges pending and appears to be a case of mishandling of a loaded weapon,” police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
