Massive Fire Destroys Springfield Home Friday

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Springfield home is a total loss after a fire that started around 5 pm Friday afternoon.

The home is located on Derby Run Rd near 257 and Hwy 431. MAP

Officials tell Smokey Barn news that no one was home at the time of the fire, however, several animals were trapped inside. A neighbor was able to evacuate at last two dogs and take them to a local animal hospital. The disposition of other aminals is still unclear.

The Pleasent View Fire Department was the first to arrive at the scene. They were nearby and had just finished working an accident near South Old 431 and Tom Auston Hwy when the page went out. They were close enough that they could see smoke from the fire..

There is no word on a cause of the fire at this time. As soon as the fire is completely out officials will begin an investigation.

The Pleasant View Fire Department, White House Comunity Volunteer Fire Department (station 51 and 52) the Ridgetop Fire Department, Greenbrier Fire, Robertson County EMS, the Emergency Management Agency,  Robertson County Animal Control and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the call.
