Millersville Police Officer, George Hurst, Dies Unexpectedly

MILLERSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –  George Hurst, a father and Corporal with the Millersville Police Department suddenly and unexpectedly died Monday, he was just 35 years old.

facebook_1464053558380“It is with heavy hearts and sadness that our department passes on the news that Corporal George Hurst, passed away today from a heart attack at the age of 35, said Millersville Police Chief, David Hindman Monday evening. “A Corporal with the Millersville Police Department, Hurst will be missed by his fellow officers and by anyone that knew him.”

According to Chief Hindman,  Hurst had been with the Millersville Police dept for five years and was a valuable asset. He was also a wonderful father and husband and did an outstanding job.

Before joining the Millersville Police Department, Hurst worked for the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Holt.

“He was out relaxing on his day off, fishing, when he developed difficulty catching his breath, they took him to shore where an ambulance was waiting. They transported him to Skyline Medical Center in Madison where he passed away around 1:15 p.m. Monday.

“It’s Just another reminder to never take life for granted. Gonna miss you buddy, we’ll hold it down from here. Please keep the Millersville Police Department and his family in your prayers.”

Hurst will receive a Police officers funeral, Chief Hindman said.

Age 35 passed away on May 23, 2016.

Preceded in death by father, George E. Hurst, Sr.; sister, Pam Watson.

George is survived by his wife, Holly Hurst; son, George E. Hurst III; mother,
Patricia (Lee) Hurst Petty; brothers, Michael Watson and Charles Hurst; sister, IMG_20160524_104739764_HDRRhonda Cleary, many friends, family, and George’s fellow officers at the Millersville Police Department where he was a Corporal and served with distinction.

Visitation will be held at Metro Baptist Church, 322 East Cedar Street Goodlettsville, TN 37072, Thursday May 26, 2016, from 4 PM to 8 PM and Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM with funeral service immediately following. Interment with FULL POLICE HONORS, Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers, Millersville Police Department.
