Motorcycle Crash Leads To Arrest After Police Pursuit

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A local motorcyclist is in the Robertson County jail in Springfield this evening facing charges of Felony Evading after leading the THP on a high speed chase that ultimately ended with the rider crashing into a fence, according to the THP.

According to Trooper Israel Silva with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the THP
attempted a traffic stop of three motorcyclists around 9pm Wednesday evening. One of the motorcyclists stopped but the other two fled.

The THP pursued the two fleeing bikers on Hwy 76,  According to Trooper Silva, the motorcyclists were traveling at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour at which point the THP canceled the pursuit.

Minutes after the THP called off the pursuit Robertson County 911 dispatch radioed that a motorcyclist had crashed into a fence on Clarity Rd just off Hwy 76. (Location of wreck)

The motorcyclist admitted that he was one of the riders that had fled, according to the THP. The rider told the THP that he didn’t stop because his bike was not registered. Now the rider will face a charge for the expired registration and because he failed to stop, felony Evading.

Fortunately the motorcyclist was not seriously injured in the crash. The THP is still trying to identify the other motorcyclist that fled. The third motorcyclist will not be facing any charges since he did stop but the THP is asking that he contact them to help them identify the other rider.
