One Dead After A Flurry Of Gunfire In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –A late night shooting in Springfield has taken the life of one person, according to officials with Robertson County EMS.

At 11 pm as many as 15 or 20 shots rang out in Springfield off 15th Ave. Shortly their after Springfield Police arrived at the scene along with Robertson County EMS and Springfield Fire. One male victim with multiple gunshot wounds was found in the roadway, according to radio traffic.

The victim, now identified as Perry Brown of Nashville, was transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield where he was pronounced deceased.

The shooting took place at the intersection of 15th Ave and Leota St. MAP  About a quarter of the block encompassing 6 to 10 homes was taped off by police as part of the crime scene.

Below is an audio recording of the firefight captured on a surveillance camera nearby. The recording shows the intensity of the firefight. If you listen carefully, you can hear the Robertson County Courthouse Clock in the background chiming on the 11 pm hour.

Detectives with the Springfield Police Department have learned that there were 15 to 20 people at the site of last night’s shooting. Several of those witnesses have already come forward but police are eager to talk to anyone present during the shooting. Anyone with any information about the shooting is encouraged to reach out to Springfield Police immediately or contact Crime Stoppers. All callers will remain anonymous. A cash reward is offered to any information that leads to an arrest.
