One Hospitalized In Springfield Shooting Tuesday Evening

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to Springfield Police, one person was shot Tuesday evening at the Skyview Terrace Apartments located directly across from NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield. MAP

Police told Smokey Barn News that the victim, a 31-year-old male, was initially transported across the street to NorthCrest Medical by a private citizen but has since been transferred to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for further treatment.

According to Robertson County EMS, the victim was in stable condition (awake and alert) during his transport to Skyline Medical.

According to Springfield Police, upon arrival, officers interviewed several witnesses who stated that two males were in an altercation in the breezeway when one of the males slapped the other in the side of the face.

Witnesses told police that the male subject that had been slapped then pulled out a handgun and began firing while the other male was running away. The male was shot twice, once in the upper thigh and once in the buttocks.

Witnesses told police that the alleged shooter was Toyvious Landell Babb. (pictured below) Detectives found several shell casings and a spent bullet in the breezeway of 500 Skyview Terrace A building.

The suspect, Toyvious Landell Babb, fled the scene before officers arrived.
