 Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Springfield “Critical”

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A pedestrian was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle Sunday evening in Springfield.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Industrial Blvd and Josephine St around 7:18 pm. MAP

According to Robertson County EMS, the 25-year-old male, now identified as Devante T. Brooks, of Nashville, was “extremely critical” after the crash. Katie Anthony, of Springfield, told Smokey Barn News that she witnessed the accident and performed CPR on the man until medics arrived. She said the man was very badly injured.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and they have released some preliminarily findings, “A 1997 Ford F-150 (driven by Brittany Bonner, 26, of Greenbrier, was traveling West on Industrial Dr. when the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right and struck a pedestrian that was walking on the grass.” According to the THP, alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

As soon as more information on the condition of Mr. Brooks or the cause of the crash becomes available we will bring it to you.

The Springfield Fire Department, Robertson County EMS, and the Springfield Police Department all responded to the call.

UPDATE: Monday evening 7 pm: According to Vanderbilt Medical Center, Devante Brooks is listed in critical condition.
