Popular Springfield Auto Cruise-In Looking For New Home

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A popular automotive club in Springfield called Classic Tin Cruise In is looking for a new home after facing issues with their current spot next to Burger King. MAP

UPDATE: According to the group’s facilitator, Shelby Horner, the group has found a location.

WE HAVE A PLACE!!!!!!!!!

Gary Dean, owner of Dynamix Collision, has graciously told us that we can use their lot every Wednesday night.

We will start up on May 2nd and still go till Oct. 31st.

The address is 501 22nd Ave E Springfield, TN 37172. MAP

We thank Gary for letting us use the lot.

Please go to there FB page to thank them, said the group’s facilitator Shelby Horner

Reported earlier….

The group meets every Wednesday evening from April to October to talk and enjoy cars. Their beautiful vehicles are hard to miss as you pass by. It’s a free event that Smokey Barn News has covered several times.

Now, the group says, “Due to corporate greed, we will not be able to have the weekly cruise-ins. Owner of lot (an Ohio Company, according to the group) wants us to pay rent in the amount of $150 per month in order to have a cruise in.

“Last year they said we had to get a liability insurance policy. We got a corporate sponsor and passed the hat and got the policy. Now, this year, they are saying we have to pay $150.00 per month plus the insurance.

“We don’t charge admission, don’t pay dues – just a bunch of good people that like classic cars. We are now trying to find a new place where we can meet. Sad day for those that enjoyed bringing their cars there, not to mention the folks that would stop by to walk around and look at cars.”

“Also, we know that Burger King likes us being there – lots of business for them that night. Other places benefit too-shopping, pizza ordering from Papa John’s etc.”

Below are some photos of the event captured by Smokey Barn News. If you have a spot available the group would love to hear from you.

According to the group’s facilitator Shelby Horner, if you are interested in hosting the venue on a weekly bases, they get between 50 to 100 cars and they’ll need to be near food.

You can reach the group via their FB page HERE or you can reach Shelby Horner at (615) 336-2257.
