Robertson County Schools recently became aware of a Twitter account that according to them contained inappropriate communication about Robertson County Schools, faculty and students. In the wake of the issues the Williamson County School District had with alleged cyber bullying the goal was to be preemptive.. http://youtu.be/RSzL5gMZhNM

Below is a transcript of the voice message distributed to all parents with children in Robertson County Schools.

Robertson County Schools has recently been made aware of some inappropriate postings on at least one Twitter account.

These postings reflect degrading, demeaning and unacceptable communications by some who present themselves as RCS students.

In the interest of the safety and wellbeing of all students, Robertson County Schools is asking you as a parent or guardian to discuss the implications of these  postings with your children.

While social media is a useful and informative tool, it is vital to use it responsibly.  Your assistance in helping to eliminate this unacceptable behavior is greatly appreciated.
According to, Robertson County Schools Communications Coordinator, Jim Bellis, their hope is that informing parents early on will help dilute this situation before it has a chance to escalate.
