a 005ORLINDA TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to representatives with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Ramos Antonio Jimenez, 37, of Springfield, was traveling east on HWY 52 in Orlinda just after 4:30pm. A witness told the THP that the vehicle (a 2006 Honda Accord) was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle.  The accident occurred just after a curve or bend in the roadway. (Exact Location Of Wreck)  After losing control, the vehicle traveled across the westbound lane, onto the shoulder and struck a tree. After impacting the tree the vehicle traveled another 20 feet before coming to a stop on the shoulder. All of the forward airbags in the vehicle deployed and the driver was wearing his seatbelt, according to the THP.

Jimenez was removed from the vehicle via the passenger side and then transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville via helicopter. We are still waiting on a report on the condition of Mr. Jimenez  but we believe his injuries are not life threatening. First responders said that Mr. Jimenez was unconscious when they arrived at the scene. Within minutes Jimenez regained consciousness and was able to answer questions.

The accident is still under investigation but according to the THP there was no sign that alcohol was a factor.

As soon as we have an update on Mr. Jimenez condition we will bring it to you.
