Sales Tax Holiday:
The state of Tennessee’s annual sales tax holiday is held every year, beginning at 12:01 a.m. on the last Friday in July and ending at 11:59 p.m. the following Sunday night. During this weekend, certain goods may be purchased tax free. The 2018 tax-free holiday weekend begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 27 and ends Sunday, July 29 at 11:59 p.m.

Clothing: $100 or Less
School Supplies and School Art Supplies: $100 or Less
Computers: $1,500 or Less

Multiple “Back To School” Bashes Coming Up, Mark Your Calendars
ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – School supplies can be expensive so members of the business community and churches have stepped in to help local students kick off the new school year with several FREE Back To School Bash events planned in and around the county. Kick off the school year with some free goodies, school supplies and some fun activities for the kids.
July 21: 5th Annual Back to School Expo at RiverGate Mall:
Back to School 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Center Court
RiverGate Mall will host its 5th Annual Back to School Expo on Saturday, July 21 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. which will include a FREE Book Bag Giveaway and plenty of fun entertainment for the whole family!
The first 700 students in grades 1 – 5, with a parent, will obtain a punch card from the RiverGate Mall Back to School Expo table. From there, students and parents must visit each participating vendor booth to receive a sign off to receive their FREE book bag. The completed punch card will reward them a book bag filled with supplies to help prepare them for the upcoming school year!
“We are thrilled to be hosting this event for its 5th year. We know that costs can really add up for supplies, new clothes, lunches and more, “says Morgan Teller, Marketing Director of RiverGate Mall, “so we hope to be able to provide school essentials that your little ones need to stay on the path to higher education!”

July 21 Back to School Ice Cream Social – Cross Plains Seventh Day Adventist Church
The Cross Plains Seventh Day Adventist Church is having a Back to School Ice Cream Social and collecting school donated school supplies to give to East Robertson Elementary School. This is a free event!
July 28 10th Annual Robertson County Mayor’s Back To School Bash
10th Annual Mayor’s Back To School Bash scheduled for Sat., July 28th from 9-11AM at Springfield Middle School. All Robertson County students are invited! First 1000 students will receive a free backpack. There will be free school supplies and more from local businesses.
*Health Fair at the Stokes Brown Public Library from 10AM to 1PM.

August 11 Back to School Splash by New Life Fellowship In Cross Plains
Hey church family and community friends! On August 11th from 12pm-7pm we will all fellowship, eat, and play in the sun. We will have multiple water games for all ages. It will be a potluck for lunch and the snack bar will be open for the whole day. If you are able to attend, please post what you plan on bringing to the potluck! And remember to wear water clothes, because this will be a fun day filled with lots of water to survive the heat!
