Robertson County Benefit Pull Raises $10,000 For Cancer

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A $10,000 donation was made to the American Cancer Society and the Sarah Cannon Fund from proceeds of a Memorial Benefit Pull held in the memory of the late Jay Fuqua and Don Head held on May 26th.

Longtime Robertson Countians Jay Fuqua and Don Head lost their lives to cancer this past year. Don and Jay both loved Pulling, so in their memory, the community held a truck and tractor pull to benefit the American Cancer Society.

“Very thankful to all our sponsors of the event, as well as the Robertson County Economic Development Board for their support of our event,” said local pullers and event organizers, Mike Baggett, Wayne Leding and Bob Barbee.

During the event, two granite plaques honoring Don and Jay were placed at the starting line and now rest in a Memorial Garden at the East end of the New Grandstands. See photos below.

Classes were: • Light Super Stock Tractors • Light Limited Super Stock Tractors • Super Modified 2wd Trucks • 3.0 Limited Pro Diesel Trucks.
