Robertson County Roads Still Dangerous, More Snow Coming

Robertson County Roads Still Dangerous, More Snow Coming

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – As Robertson County waits for warmer temperatures crews are hard at work clearing the roadways.

The single digit temps overnight have allowed even salted roads to solidify. The situation has made roadways treacherous, even for trained professionals. This morning around 11 am a TDOT plow slid off the roadway and overturned on Betts Rd just outside of Greenbrier. MAP According to District Chief, Mike Bauer with the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department, the driver was not injured.

Reports are the same all over Robertson County, the roads are covered in ice. With more snow on the way, it is likely to get worse before it gets better. Though temperatures will climb slightly on Monday, snow is in the forecast followed by more frigid temperatures. The next real break in temperatures is not expected until later in the week.

Officials say that until road conditions improve, citizens should try to limit their traveling as much a possible.

Messages with questions about road conditions are coming into our newsroom from all over the county. You can help others considering travel by posting a photo of your street under this story on our Facebook page.
