Robertson County Schools CLOSED Wednesday

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Robertson County Schools will remain closed on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 due to hazardous road conditions and below 0 windchill temperatures.

Sumner County Schools:

Sumner County Schools will be closed Wednesday, January 17, 2018 due to icy road conditions remaining throughout the county.

The Central Office and Support Services will also be closed.

Weather/Roads:

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Roads across the county remain covered in snow and ice so if possible, please do not travel.

Temperatures will plummet to zero tonight and not rise much on Wednesday. Although winds will be light, wind chills will remain near or below zero at times.

National Weather Service (Nashville):

While the sun will likely improve travel conditions this afternoon as it melts the snow and slush on the roads, this moisture could RAPIDLY REFREEZE after dark as temperatures plummet into the single digits, which is so cold that many salt and brine treatments may no longer be effective.

Please drive very cautiously this evening. You do not want to be caught hitting an icy patch at full speed!

Thursday outlook is sunny with an expected high of 35 and a high of 42 on Friday.
