Robertson Student Struck By Vehicle At Bus Stop Transported To Vandy

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Robertson County student has been transported to an area hospital after being struck by a vehicle at a bus stop in Springfield.

According to Springfield Police, the 14-year-old male, a freshman at Springfield High School, was crossing the street at 17th Ave and Page St. MAP when he was struck by a passenger car. The incident, which is still under investigation, occurred just after 7 am Friday morning before the school bus arrived. The student has been transported (non-emergency) to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville with unspecified injuries according to Robertson County EMS.  The driver has not been charged.

A resident in the area told Smokey Barn News that people drive too fast on 17th Ave and she would like to see improvements made to the bus stop..

According to officials with the Springfield Fire Department, the child sustained possible fractures and abrasions and was transported via ground.
