Carney Bell Honored At Benefit For New Airport Lobby

ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Generationally, the Bell family of Robertson County has continued to play a big part in the history of Robertson County, past and future. Recently the Bell family donated $150,000 to assist in the construction of the new airport terminal. The late Carney Bell loved flying and he loved Robertson County.

Carney Bell’s love for Robertson County was evident in the work he did to help bring this airport to Springfield many years ago. Thursday evening the Bell family honored his vision and legacy by offering the community an opportunity to contribute to efforts to upgrade and improve the airport with a dinner to raise funds and celebrate Carney Bell’s vision.

“It is such a privilege for us to honor our dad this way, and to know it will benefit and help the community that has meant so much to all of us,” the Bell family told Smokey Barn News.

The funds generated at this benefit are in addition to the Bell’s donation of $150,000. All the money generated at the dinner will go directly to the airport project.

The benefit for the Robertson County Regional Airport Carney Bell Lobby was held Thursday, April 18 at 6 PM. at the Henry & Bell building at 616 South Main St. MAP

Seals and Croft 2 delighted the audience with hit after hit throughout the evening as the crowd enjoyed dinner and reminisced. On display were photos and memorabilia from Carney Rickman Bell’s love of flying and military career. Carney died on February 19, 2013, at the age of 79. Online obituary
