Springfield Man Charged With Statutory Rape
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – WKRN News 2 is reporting that a Springfield man was taken into custody Friday night by Ashland City authorities for alleged aggravated statutory rape.
Smokey Barn News has confirmed with Cheatham County officials that Timothy Felts, 49, of Springfield has been charged with aggravated statutory rape and violation of the sex offender registry. Felts was booked into the Cheatham County jail without bond.

According to the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry, Felts was charged with sexual battery by an authority figure back in 2009.
News 2 reports that Felts, back in 2009, was a youth minister and former substitute teacher in Springfield when he faced the allegations that he sexually abused a 16-year-old female student.
Back in 2009 Lt. Jimmy Grogan with the Springfield Police Department confirmed that then 43-year-old Timothy Felts was arrested and charged with five counts of sex abuse by an authority figure, News 2 reports.
Felts was formerly employed with the Robertson County School System as a substitute teacher at Springfield High School. Felts is no longer an employee of the school system, he resigned after the 2009 allegations surfaced, News 2 reports.
Back in 2009 Felts was booked into the Robertson County Detention facility with a bond of $30,000.
