Springfield Retail Store Robbed At Gunpoint Tuesday

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Around 9:15pm Tuesday evening a man ran into a retail store located on 10th Ave East called Novedades Mariela and demanded money, at one point aiming the gun at a customer’s head. The store is located at 203 10th Ave East MAP.

According to Detective Chuck Bogle with the Springfield Police Department, the man pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money. She complied. The suspect then pointed the gun at a customer’s head and demanded more money.

The suspect escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described as a white male, about 5’10 to 6 feet tall, wearing bluejeans and a black pullover sweatshirt with a white logo on the back just below the neck and a black stocking cap with a white emblem on it also. It appeared that the suspect pulled a nylon stocking over his head and face.

No one was hurt during the robbery but needless to say police are eager to get this man off the streets. Detective Bogle told Smokey Barn News that if anyone in the community has any information about this robbery, or if you believe you saw this man in the area around 10th and Memorial Tuesday evening, the Detective would like to speak to you.
