Storage Bldg. Fire Sparks Race To Save Orlinda Home

ORLINDA TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Area firefighters saved an Orlinda home from certain destruction after a storage building and adjacent grass ignited Friday afternoon.

The home is located in the 900 block of Hwy 49 near downtown Orlinda. MAP

The call came in around 4 pm that a small storage building was on fire and was making its way to a home located just feet away. Firefighters from Orlinda and Cross Plains rushed to the scene and made quick work of the fire saving the home and a second outbuilding. It’s what firefighters call a great stop. The initial building was a total loss.

As you can see in the photos and video the fire worked its way close enough to melt the siding of the home but the house is otherwise ok and is still livable this evening thanks to local firefighters.

The Orlinda Fire Department, Cross Plains Fire, Robertson County EMS, the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency and the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the call.
