Suspect Arrested In White House Bank Robbery

WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – On Tuesday the Farmers Bank, located on Hwy 31w in White House, was robbed. Now White House Police, in conjunction with the FBI, say they have a suspect in custody.

According to White House Police Chief Pat Brady, Richard Allen Bartell, 48, of Glasgow Kentucky, was taken into custody just a day after the robbery on unrelated charges.

According to Chief Brady, a tip was called into the White House Police department. The caller indicated that Bartell had been bragging about the robbery.

Detectives learned that the vehicle used in the robbery was reported stolen out of Bowling Green Kentucky. The FBI was able to locate the vehicle, and according to Chief Brady, the vehicle has been tied to Bartell.

Police say Bartell drove in from Kentucky the day of the robbery. Bartell’s decision to hit the Farmers Bank in White House seems to be haphazard, police said.

Chief Brady told Smokey Barn News that Bartell returned back to Kentucky following the robbery and was bragging that he bought drugs with the money.

The white House Police, in conjunction with the FBI were able to tie Bartell to the Robbery in White House while Bartell was in jail on other charges.

According to Chief Brady, Bartell made statements incriminating himself. Bartell now has Federal Warrants and they will be placing a hold on him in Kentucky, Brady said.

“Our detectives have worked endlessly since this robbery occurred and we are proud of them for bringing closure to this case,” Chief Brady said

Bartell is currently being held in the Barren County Jail in Glasgow Kentucky.
