Suspicious Springfield Barn Fire Under Investigation
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Springfield Firefighters are currently battling a barn fire that spread to an adjacent wooded area not far from several homes.
The barn is located between Roy Pitt Rd, Brookside Point and Corbitt Ln. MAP The call came in at 8:42 pm
The fire is contained at the moment but rolls of hay in the barn may continue to smolder for a while, according to Springfield fire officials.
Officials with the Springfield Fire Department tell Smokey Barn News that the fire is being labeled as suspicious and is under investigation.
If you live nearby, you may notice local firefighters in the area throughout the night and into the morning as they monitor the site to make sure the barn does not rekindle but officials tell Smokey Barn News that the rolls of hay could smolder for a day or so.
