The Annual Tobacco, Beef, and More UT Field Day Set For June 21 (Sponsored Lunch Provided)

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The annual Tobacco, Beef, and More Field Day will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm at the UT Highland Rim Research & Education Center, 3181 Experiment Station Road, Springfield, TN. A sponsored lunch will be provided following the morning tours.

New topics include: Industrial Hemp Update. Beef and Forage topics include: Calving Difficulty and its Effect on Breeding Back Cows, Managing Nutrition to Ensure Calf Vigor and Cow Fertility, and Dystocia Management. Tobacco topics include: New Dark-Fired Variety: KT D17LC, Tobacco Fertility Programs, and Insecticide Programs.

Equipment and Supply Company booths will be under roof with information on their products. Robertson County Master Gardeners will also be participating with a booth this year.

Programs in agriculture and natural resources, 4-H youth development, family and consumer sciences, and resource development. University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Agriculture and county governments cooperating. UT Extension provides equal opportunities in programs and employment.
