ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Calling it the “Greatest gig in the world” Steven Good, the voice of SnowBird for 24 years, parts from WSMV News 4.

Good got the news on Thursday and it came as a complete shock. Good told Smokey Barn News that he’s very sad for himself and for the legacy of SnowBird. Good poured himself into the character for 24 years doing about 300 appearances a year.

Good’s affect on the community is generational, touching the lives of at least three generations of children with book readings at schools and libraries, waving in parades and countless hugs.

WSMV has made it clear that Snowbird is alive and well, saying; “The news of my demise was greatly exaggerated” on Snowbirds Facebook page” The post followed rumors that News 4 was retiring Snowbird.

Good sat down for an in-depth interview with Smokey Barn News on Saturday, just days after hearing that he would no longer be the beating heart and voice behind Snowbird.
