Thieves Steal Christmas, Clarksville Police Bring It Back

CLARKSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – With just hours to go before Christmas, a Clarksville family stepped out to run an errand. It was Christmas Eve. When the family returned home they found their back door kicked in and all their presents from under the tree… gone.

Officers responded to the home, located on Bob White Dr., and found one sad family and three devastated children.

Going by the book, the officers investigated the burglary, looked for evidence, and cleared the home, but that’s just the beginning of this story. While working the scene the officers made a decision, they weren’t going to allow these kids to have a miserable Christmas.

On a mission to save Christmas, the officers took up a collection and headed to Wal-Mart.  After a very special shopping spree, the officers wrapped all the presents and headed back to Bob White Dr., it was Christmas Eve.

This time instead of criminals headed to justice, the back seat of the squad car would contain the very meaning of Christmas… giving. For the rest of the story, you don’t have to look any further than the faces of the children in the photo below.

“The officers turned around a bad situation and made some children’s Christmas day bright.” Jim Knoll, Public Information Officer, Clarksville Police.
