Three Injured In Head-On Wreck on Tom Austin Hwy In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) Four people were hospitalized Wednesday evening after their vehicles collided nearly head on on Tom Austin Hwy..

The accident occurred near the intersection of Walling Rd and Tom Austin Hwy  just before 9:00pm. (Location of wreck) Officials told Smokey Barn News that the occupants of both vehicles were very lucky to have escaped without life threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the accident but they did tell us that they have ruled out drugs or alcohol in the accident.

One patient was transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield and three were transported to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.

UPDATE: Cause Of Accident report released:

According to an accident report obtained by Smokey Barn News, Mikell Casady, of Whites Creek TN, told police he was traveling North bound on Tom Austin Hwy passing William Batson Parkway in his Nissan pickup when he fell asleep and veered into oncoming traffic.

Casady’s vehicle struck a Chevy Yukon heading South on Tom Austin Hwy, head-on. The Yukon contained three people,  Amanda Capley,  her husband, Neil Capley, and her father, Ronnie Dismang, all of Joelton TN. All three were transported to Skyline medical center by EMS ground.

We are still waiting on an update on how all four are doing, as soon as we have it we will bring it to you but last night officials seemed optimistic that none of the four sustained traumatic or life threatening injuries.
