Tractor-Trailer Crash Closes I-24 East
UPDATE: The accident has been cleared.
Coopertown/Pleasant View TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – I-24 East is closed at exit 19 MAP following a crash involving two tractor trailers.
One of the semis sustained heavy fire damage and the trailer on the other rig was peeled back like a tin can. Two people were transported to area hospitals.
One of the rigs was hauling potatoes and the other cheese.
Officials are diverting traffic at exit 19 and tell Smokey Barn News that I-24 East will likely be closed for several hours.
It may be 5 am before the road is completely clear.
