Two Greenbrier Businesses Burglarized; Suspect In Custody
GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – On February 26, 2016, in the early morning hours, two businesses on U.S. Highway 41 in Greenbrier were
burglarized.
According to Greenbrier Police, entry was gained to the businesses by breaking glass doors with a brick. Numerous items including liquor, cigarettes and power tools were stolen from Kenny Bobs BBQ (MAP to business) and 1400 feet away, Corner Liquors (MAP to business.) (See proximity to each-other)
A subsequent investigation by the Greenbrier Police Department led to the arrest of a suspect later the same day. Kyle W. Choate, age 29 of Greenbrier was arrested and placed in the Robertson County Jail under a $50,000.00 bond.
According to Greenbrier Police Deputy Chief Randy Pack, “Choate cut himself on glass as he made his way into one of the businesses and left blood at both, leaving DNA evidence at both locations.”
Additionally, items from both businesses were recovered at a Greenbrier residence he was visiting. A security camera at one of the businesses captured someone wearing a hoodie with their shirt pulled over their face entering the business providing police with a timeline, and when Choate was arrested he had a cut on his hand, Pack said.
Choate has been charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of vandalism, and two counts of theft of property. Almost all of the stolen property was recovered.
“As soon as we were notified of the burglary our detectives got to work immediately. They worked on it all day and were able to solve it very quickly, which we were very pleased with,” Pack said.
