Now Accepting Bids On The Construction Of The New Crestview Elementary School
At their March meeting, the Robertson County School Board authorized Director Mike Davis to advertise for bids on the construction of the new Crestview Elementary School on William Batson Boulevard in Springfield. The location will be directly across from the entrance to the Highland Crest College Campus (LOCATION ON Google MAPS)
The new school will accommodate up to 1,000 students in grades K-5, and help alleviate current over-crowding in several existing elementary schools. The 117,000 sq. ft. facility will incorporate two stories and sit on approximately 19 acres.
Bids will be opened at the Robertson County Schools Central Office on April 10 in accordance with the published advertisement as per the bid instructions. Plans for the new school have already been submitted to the State Fire Marshal’s Office for review.
A formal request for funds from the Robertson County Commission will be made at the commission’s regular-scheduled April 21, meeting. Once funding is approved a contract will be awarded and construction can begin.
According to RCS Director Mike Davis, groundbreaking is planned for early May, and construction is estimated to take approximately 15 months. Current plans are for the building to be open for classes in the fall of 2015 for the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year.

Sealed bids for construction of a New Crestview Elementary School located in Robertson County, Tennessee will be received until 2:00 P.M. local time, on April 10, 2014, at the Robertson County Board of Education, 2121 Woodland Street, Springfield, TN at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the full amount of the bid will be required.
