GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A death investigation is underway after a man’s body was found near the train tracks in Greenbrier early Monday morning.
The body was discovered near the railroad tracks about a quarter-mile north of Main St between the tracks and Old Greenbrier Pike.
Officials received the first call about the body around 5:30 am.
“As of right now we have located the body of a male and he has been tentatively identified. He had no identification and the body had not sustained any obvious trauma. The body has been sent for an autopsy.” Greenbrier Police
Police say the body had likely been there for just a few hours but an autopsy should reveal more information.
The identity of the man will be released as soon as the family has been notified.
UPDATE: Greenbrier Police are now releasing the name of the individual. According to Greenbrier Police Chief Randy Pack, the individual is identified as Codie D. Adams, 31, of Greenbrier.
Codie’s death is still under investigation, according to Chief Pack. It will likely be several weeks before an autopsy and toxicology results can fill in the blanks for police.
