Cross Plains Kilgore Park To Get Upgrades From Tourism Grant

CROSS PLAINS TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –   The City of Cross Plains has been granted $36,250 grant for permanent lighting, seating and restroom facilities at Kilgore Park as part of the Rural Development fund that was created by the Rural Economic Opportunity Act passed by the General Assembly in 2016.

Senator Kerry Roberts (R-Springfield) today announced that Senate District 25 is receiving two Tourism Enhancement Grants from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and the Department of Tourism, totaling $111,250.

“These funds will help improve areas of our community that attract tourists and spur economic growth,” said Senator Roberts. “I am pleased to see these grants supporting our communities. Congratulations to local officials for their work in securing these funds.

Of the $111,250 made available, $75,000 went to Hickman County for improvements to Hickman County Agricultural Pavilion and Fairgrounds.

“I will continue to support the development of businesses and tourism improvements in our communities and I look forward to seeing the growth that will result from these grants,” added Roberts.
