At last, and just to note that Apple did apologize for trading out Google Maps for one of their own. It all started when Steve Jobs befriended Google CEO Eric Schmidt and let the dope serve on Apple’s board of directors. Then Google announced their own mobile platform called Android OS and Steve’s love for Eric went south.
Needless to say their relationship did not recover, Steve felt betrayed. Steve’s passing last year seems to have done little to improve things between the two corporate giants. It’s not likely Apple and Google will be friends again for a long time- if ever..The important thing (and all that really matters for us) is that the best mapping software on the planet is back on the iPhone and available in the app store now.
