I-65 South Shut Down After Three Separate Wrecks
Three separate accidents have closed Interstate I-65 South through Millersville. The initial accident occurred around 4:30am at about mile marker 102.5 at the bottom of the ridge. Before that wreck was cleaned up another wreck was called in around 104.5 mile marker involving two tractor trailers and about three passenger cars. The third accident occurred at about the 105 mile marker involving a truck and a camper.
About three people have been transported. Millersville Fire Crews are working with T-DOT to get the freeway back open. It looks like they may have one lane open within the next hour but according to Millersville Fire Chief Thomas King it will be a while before the freeway completely is open. One person needed extrication from the wreck involving the truck and a camper which was performed by Millersville Fire and White House Community Volunteer Fire Departments.
As of 7:30AM One lane is OPEN but traffic is backed up all the way to Cross Plains.
UPDATE 8:00AM: Another wreck involving a Sumner County School Bus and an Ambulance on 31W in Millersville has traffic backed up over there too. If you are heading into Nashville, Smokey recommends that you hold off for about an hour.
